Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The advantages

Filled with hope and determination, Myles finally took his last steps. Hence, entering the Eldoria Kingdom. Myles heard the sound of the doors behind him being closed but he didn't care.

With eyes full of curiosity, he looked around him. Surprisingly, he didn't spot anything too great around him. He spotted small houses that seemed to be made out of brown or red bricks. All the houses before him had a slanted ceiling.

Other than these houses, there wasn't anything else worthy of his notice. A slightly disappointed look could be seen on his face.

"I was expecting to see some cool ancient buildings," Myles thought to himself.

Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine such a plain and common sight. He had expected to see buildings made from metals or something! It was quite normal for him to be disappointed!

Nonetheless, he didn't stay hung up on this issue for long.

"Let's meet up with Vincent " Myles muttered under his breath.

With that being said, Myles headed towards his right side, intending to meet up with Vincent. He kept heading towards his right for the next few minutes.

As he headed towards his right side, he spotted a few people walking around the place.

He spotted a decent amount of players around him. However, with the guards patrolling the place, they didn't dare to fight.

If it weren't for the guards then they would surely have launched an attack by now. Eagerness to fight was visible on their faces. Myles shook his head and turned his attention to the NPCs.

Most of them wore common clothes, some even wore rags. This made one thing very clear to Myles.

"The people of this area are very poor" Myles concluded.

The presence of the poorly built house and the absence of any buildings further proved his guess. Nonetheless, Myles shook his head and continued walking.

A few minutes later, a notification flashed in his retina, which caused him to halt his steps.

(Vincent: Look towards your left, you will see a man who is wearing a mask and black robe. That person is me.)

Myles looked towards his left after he read the notification flashing in his retina. Indeed, he spotted a man wearing a mask that covered his entire face and a black robe. There was a narrow road behind Vincent.

The road seemed to be very dark and deserted. It looked like the perfect place for someone to launch a sneak attack.

However, he didn't worry too much about being attacked since the chances of it happening were very low.

Hence, he followed closely behind him.

"Vincent, where are you taking me?" Myles asked.

"Just wait for a few minutes," Vincent replied without hesitation.

Afterward, Myles kept following him without uttering even a single word. Sometimes later, Vincent halted his steps and so did Myles.

"This should be far enough," Vincent said as he turned towards Myles.

Just a second later, something materialized on his hand which he took out from his inventory.

Myles inspected the items carefully. There was a piece of cloth on his hand and there was something below the cloth. He couldn't quite determine what it was.

"Take this," Vincent said as he handed the items to him.

"What are these?" Myles asked.

"A piece of robe and a mask similar to the one that I am currently wearing. Please wear them as quickly as possible" Vincent replied.

"Why do I need to wear them?" Myles said, sounding a bit confused.

"You idiot, if you don't wear them, you'll be thrown out of the kingdom the moment you display the skills of a fighter. I think I don't need to explain why." Vincent exclaimed, his voice carrying seriousness.

Upon hearing this Myles fell in deep thought as he tried to think why. It didn't take long for him to figure out why.

"Is it because we told them that we are civilians?" Myles asked.

Vincent nodded his head in approval, confirming Myles's guess.

"Damn, then those who spawned outside the kingdom are at a major disadvantage compared to those who spawned inside the kingdom," Myles exclaimed, his voice carrying frustration.

"Not necessarily," Vincent replied.

Upon hearing this, Myles showed a face full of hesitation.

"Please explain yourself," Myles said.

"Those who spawned inside the kingdom have the citizenship of a fighter. I admit that it gives them some advantages compared to us. However, we also have our advantages," Vincent replied, his voice carrying seriousness.

"Like what?" Myles asked.

"Think about if you do a big crime which has provoked a lot of people by keeping our identity hidden.

At this point, we can easily switch to our civilian identity until everything cools down. However, those who have spawned inside the kingdom will probably not have a second identity to resort to." Vincent grinned.

Myles's eyes widened in disbelief when the realization struck him. Sure those who spawned inside the kingdom can also keep their identities hidden and change back to their real identities until everything cools down.

However, there was a high probability that they could still be suspected. Especially if their battle style was traced back to them.

As for a civilian? No one would suspect him! How can an ordinary person be suspected of conflict? Maybe it still carried its flaws but those with civilian identity were much better off in this aspect!

Vincent smiled as he saw Myles realize how big of an advantage they possessed in this field.

"Wear the robe and the mask," Vincent said to Myles.

Myles nodded his head in approval. He took the robe and the mask from his hand. He began to put on the robe and mask a few seconds later. Just a minute later, he had put the robe and the mask on.

"How do I look?" Myles asked.

Vincent gave Myles a thumbs upon being questioned.

"Now let's go and do some missions. I have found some nice team missions that we can do" Vincent said.

Myles widened his eyes when he heard the last line of words.

"You have already found a mission for us to do?" Myles asked, disbelief visible on his face.

"Yeah, since I have been looking for missions for the last 8 hours in-game time," Vincent replied.

"Regardless, follow me, I will lead you there. I suggest that you attach your sword to your waist" Vincent said.

Myles didn't question him any further. He took out his sword and attached it to his waist. Afterward, Vincent began to walk in a certain direction, and Myles followed closely behind him.
