Suddenly, the back door of the car opens. It was Maik. Liz is startled and asks what he is doing there. He replies:
"I came to see you one last time and ask you not to get married. I'm in love with you."
"Maik, please leave," Liz pleads.
"Come away with me, Liz. I came just to take you away from here."
"Are you crazy? I'm not going anywhere with you. Today is my wedding day. Why are you doing this?"
"Because I need a chance for you to get to know me better."
"Maik, I'm pregnant and about to marry the father of my child. So I'm asking you to get out of this car right now. I won't tell anyone about this, and we can still be good friends if you want."
"I'll even take care of your child if you're only marrying him for that."
"No. I love Henry. And if you care about me at all, as you say, get out of this car now. Please."
Despite being nervous, Liz manages to roll down the window and signals for someone to come over. Maik quickly gets out of the car, walks directly to his, which was parked across the street, and drives away.
Still shaken, Liz spots the organizer and calls her over.
"Why is this taking so long? I've been here for over half an hour. I need to get out of this car. Anywhere inside will do. Help me out, please. And why am I here alone? Not even the driver is here!"
"Did something happen, Mrs. Liz?"
"Almost... but never mind. Help me out now, and I need a glass of water urgently."
"Okay."
"Have the bridesmaids already walked down the aisle?"
"Yes, it's now your turn."
"But first, I need you to bring Penne, my maid of honor, to me and a glass of water, quickly, please."
Liz waited in the side room for Penne and her water.
"Are you okay?" Penne asked, worried, as Liz told her what had just happened.
"I can't believe it! They left you alone in the car? That must have been so scary! I'm still shaking, and they haven't even brought me the water I asked for."
"Calm down, Liz. You can't get nervous. Here's your water. Drink a little. Do you want me to call Henry?"
"No. That's why I called you, my friend. I was really upset, but I'm calming down now."
"Liz, you're ice-cold. Should I call your doctor?"
"No. Just give me a few minutes."
Half an hour later...
"I'm fine. You can go back to your place."
"And where's my mom?"
"The organizer has her ready."
Liz was finally ready to walk down the aisle. Her mother arrived and asked if she'd called for her.
"Yes. You're going to walk me down the aisle. I don't want anyone else to do it, since my dad isn't here. I had already talked to my aunt and asked her not to tell you. I wanted it to be a surprise. It's my way of showing you how much I love you and want you by my side always." Liz kissed her mother's forehead, and the wedding march began to play.
Henry, looking handsome and elegant, waited for Liz. It was clear he was anxious and nervous, but his eyes sparkled as he gazed at his beloved. He walked over to Liz, kissed her forehead, and embraced Mrs. Morrison, who returned to her seat, visibly emotional.
Henry whispered in Liz's ear:
"Is everything okay?"
She replied:
"Now it is. But I'll tell you later. I love you so much, Henry." Liz whispered back, her eyes glistening with tears.
The ceremony proceeded beautifully, without any interruptions. The two said "I do" and made their vows of eternal love. As one, they kissed, and the crowd erupted in applause.
