"Greece???" Liz asked, enchanted by the surprise.
"Once we talked about our favorite places, and I told you I wanted to come here. I even showed you some beautiful photos of places I dreamed of visiting," Henry replied.
"And we'll visit every one of those places you showed me. I booked a package that includes all of them, without exception. We'll have a guide to show us around. Let me show you the pictures to make sure I didn't forget any spots. If I did, I'll add them." (Athens, Santorini, Paros, Patmos, Kusadasi, Myrina, and Istanbul).
"Henry, my love, you're unbelievable! You even booked the hotel I mentioned. You didn't forget a single detail. I love you so much! I'll never tire of saying it and showing it every day of our lives with my actions. And we won't let anyone or anything stand in the way of our happiness."
"I'm so glad you liked it, my love. My beautiful and beloved wife."
"I loved it! You can't imagine how happy I am."
Liz rested her head on Henry's shoulder and eventually fell asleep. He kissed her forehead, held her hand, and whispered in her ear, "I love you so much." Then, he also fell asleep.
Liz woke up startled, and Henry asked if everything was okay. She said she had a bad dream.
"Henry, don't leave me alone?"
"I'll never leave you alone. But I'm starting to get worried. Are you sure there's nothing you want to tell me?"
"I have a lot to tell you, but I'll wait until we're at the hotel. I'm going to tell you I love you" (she kissed him), "that I'm eager for our first night together as husband and wife" (another kiss), "and that you're the most handsome and kind man I've ever met" (this time, a longer kiss).
"We'll be there soon, and I'll make sure to remember all that," Henry said with a loving smile.
"Look out the window... What a beautiful view."
"Indeed, Henry. The good thing about not having come here before is that now I can see everything with the love of my life. And with our baby on the way."
"One day, we'll bring them with us. The three of us will explore so many places together. But right now, I just want to enjoy being with my wife in my arms."
"Finally... we're here."
"Our car is waiting to take us to the hotel," Henry told Liz, keeping an eye out.
He spotted a sign that read: "Mr. and Mrs. Carl. Welcome!" and said to Liz, "Look! I've found our ride." The couple approached and identified themselves.
The driver asked if they wanted to go straight to the hotel, and Henry said yes.
As they drove, they admired the beautiful view. But Henry kept glancing at Liz more than at the scenery.
"You're missing out on some beautiful sights outside."
He replied, "The most beautiful sight is right here, sitting next to me."
Liz squeezed his hand and smiled at him. Henry moved closer and embraced her. At that moment, the driver announced they had arrived at the hotel. They entered while the driver unloaded their luggage, and a hotel staff member brought everything inside. The receptionist handed them the key, and they headed straight to their room. The bellhop left their bags at the entrance, and Henry tipped him before he left.
"Finally, just us!"
Henry lifted Liz into his arms as they walked through the door, and they kissed. They admired the beauty of the room. "They even left us champagne!"
Henry grabbed the bottle and glasses. They went upstairs while Liz ran a bath. Henry was already embracing and kissing her. He undressed her as she removed his shirt. They got into the bath, then the shower, and eventually, they made their way to the bed, where they continued making love. Later, they lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, talking about how happy they were.
Liz said she wanted to stay in the room today because she was too tired. "Are you upset?" she asked.
"Of course not. I'd rather stay in with you today too. I want to spend time alone with my wife. We'll order room service tonight, and tomorrow we'll start our tour. Sound good?"
Liz responded, "It couldn't be better."
They spent the whole afternoon in the room, and at night, they ordered dinner to enjoy in the room as they continued to appreciate the perfect view from their window.
