Chapter 23 - Tinge Of History (2)

"What do you mean by that?" Asher exclaimed with a grim expression. The wind bellowed on him; the smoke from the impact before hadn't cleared yet.

"To defy the authority of Fate God." The Cosmic God exclaimed, followed by a brief moment of silence. Asher narrowed his eyes slightly, his furrows burrowed.

'Fate god?'

The Cosmic God nodded; his green eyes shimmered under the crimson sky. His smile had vanished, replaced by a grim expression. His eyes showed...

Immense Hatred?

"The Fate God was born as the God of Schemes. He was weak, pathetic even. Playing dirty every single time." The Cosmic God exclaimed, his voice filled with concealed hatred.

Asher let out a small sigh as he stared at the battlefield, still engulfed by the smoke of the explosion. Gritting his teeth, he once again faced the cosmic God beside him.

"Is he responsible?" Asher exclaimed, his voice reeked with killing intent.

The Cosmic God raised one of his eyebrows, then with a grin, he replied:

"What are you hating him for? Don't meddle yourself into this."

"Just what do you mean by that?" Asher spat back.

"What?"

"I have to defy him, right? That means that bastard is the reason for all my problems, the only hindrance to my goals. He controls my actions without me noticing. So all I have to do, is to just slaughter him." Asher replied with a grim expression.

The Cosmic Deity let out a small chuckle; a grin appeared on his face afterwards.

"As expected of you."

Suddenly, a burst of wind crashed everywhere. The Deity's eyes narrowed, his grin vanishing entirely.

"What's happening?" Asher exclaimed with a distorted expression. His hair waved intensely under the force of the raging winds. Covering his eyes with his hands, he internally cursed, hoping that the winds would silence themselves.

Instead, the opposite happened; the winds bellowed with even more rage. Just as he thought that something was wrong, cosmic energy started to spark itself in the air.

Eventually, that spark ignited into a cosmic bubble, covering Asher entirely. Instantly, Asher felt the winds go away. Breathing a sigh of relief, he finally stood up properly.

Suddenly, the cosmic bubble started to shrink, eventually becoming one with Asher.

'What was that?' Asher thought, hoping for some answers. The crimson sky shone weirdly. It was as if it was not the sky but a gemstone shining upon the world with its bloody might.

Tilting his head, he turned towards the God beside him. The Cosmic God stood fiercely, his eyes were solemn, as if expecting something to go wrong.

Suddenly, he turned towards Asher.

"Stay quiet and observe." He said before staring at the battlefield once again.

'Just what's wrong with him?' Asher thought before turning to the battlefield. His eyes widened suddenly, suddenly, gasping with shock.

'Why does he feel so familiar!' Asher screamed internally as he stared at the new party who had just entered the battlefield.

Between the black-haired man and the devilish beings, another man stood, his clothes waved, white in color. His hair was of the same hue; his eyes were pale silver. A majestic hue oozed off from him; It was as if a true god had shown himself to pathetic peasants.

A graceful smile appeared on his face just as he stared at the black-haired man.

"Sorry to disturb you all; I have come with some news." The white-haired man exclaimed, his voice deep and masculine. His white hair waved in contrast to the blood-sky.

The black-haired man looked at him with a grim expression; he finally said:

"I can't care less. Leave or die."

The devilish beings nodded in agreement. It seemed that if the man didn't leave, he would be killed.

After a brief moment of silence, the black-haired took his stance. Ready to attack.

"LEAVE!"

Instantly, the black-haired man burst forward. A flash of black-purple lightning cracked through the air. Suddenly, Asher felt his surroundings getting colder.

Just as the black-haired man was about to punch the white-haired person. He finally spoke:

"The Creator gods have fallen."

Instantly, the black-haired man took a sharp halt. Blood drained from his face, his eyes widening in shock.

"What?" One of the devilish beings behind him exclaimed.

"The Creator gods have fa-"

"HOW!"

The voice of the black-haired man echoed through the dimension. With gritted teeth, he stepped forward.

"Who killed them?" The black-haired man said, sending chills down Asher's spine.

The white-haired man took a deep breath before speaking once again.

"Fate.."

"Who?"

"Fate God"

Silence overwhelmed everyone once again; the utter shock left everyone speechless. Even the Cosmic God remained silent beside him; his green eyes still showed some shock.

"That man from the Empire of Angels?" The black-haired man exclaimed; bloodlust echoed through his voice, vowing to kill everyone powerlessly.

'Empire of Angels?' Asher thought with confusion.

"Why did Empire of Angel involved themselves in the war?" One of the devilish beings behind the man said, his hoarse voice echoing that still gave shivers to anyone who listened to it.

"Where did the battle happen?" The black-haired man said as a dark aura rose within him. Suddenly, Asher noticed that the shadows were somehow distorted, bent even.

'Are.. the shadows bowing down to him?' He thought, staring at the black-haired man on the battlefield.

The white-haired man took another sigh before speaking once more.

"The Sea of Chaos."
