Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Forgotten Memories

''What the hell?! She just healed him. Why? What's her deal?'' pondered Dugeziel. At that same moment, he turned to his leader, Akviad, and wondered what his expression would be.

But, unfortunately, Dugeziel's expectation of his leader's disappointment was not met. He noticed that Akviad was fine with it.

Meanwhile, Dugeziel is in disbelief about the incident. The young lady began speaking with Keagen.

"So, I've noticed that you're very confused by what just happened awhile ago. Also, you have a lot of questions you'll like to ask me. But, before I allow you to ask any of these questions, I'd like to know, if you had ever experienced magical occurrence before?'' the woman inquired.

After Keagen heard those strange questions from the woman, it left him speechless for a moment while he stared at the woman in puzzlement.

"No, I have never had such an encounter like this in my life. Until, I've met you and that guy, however I got to be honest, you people are very scary, but you and your welcoming smile are more scary. Because I don't know what you'll do to me next," replied Keagen, exasperating his fear.

After that, Keagen stared at her silently. He felt anxious about her unknown expression as a result of what he had spoken to her.

"I...I auh—," started Keagen, trying to add anything, but was cut off by the woman's response.

"Oh, dear, no need to apologize; I understand that my actions may have made you uncomfortable. And you're indeed correct; we are a strange bounty hunter," said the woman.

"Hmm, her being gentle with this young man is not a bad idea after all; nicely done, Ivicka, I am well pleased," Akviad, having a internal speech to himself.

"She's so friendly with this guy. If it was me, interrogation would be done a lot faster quicker than this,'' said Dugeziel having a interpersonal conversation.

Meanwhile, Keagen immediately looked away from her , feeling embarrassed of her understanding what he was trying to say. "Whoa, she read my mind,'' said Keagen murmured to himself.

"Hey, you wanna say something? If you'd like? You are free to ask me anything right now,'' Ivicka said, giving him a free opportunity to speak.

''Well, who exactly are you people? Where do you all come from?'' Keagen asked calmly in his chair, realizing that the woman was not as horrible as he thought she was.

"[*Sigh*] Okay, that's simple to answer: we're bounty hunters dispatched from another world named Qiniel. My companions and I were assigned to find a dangerous man who had somehow ended up here in this ordinary world. But, I figured, him being able to come here is kind of perplex to you. So, before I continue. Do you understand most of what I just said to you?''

Keagen remained in silent for a moment, wondering if he had understood. But after that few second of thought, he replied, ''Auhm, no, I don't understand a thing, even the part on how you hunters and the criminal you mentioned, are able to get her.''

"Well, to put it simple, we use magic. But, if you still don't understand the concept on what I told you. I'll explain to you in more detail for you to comprehend. So, we're rank-B bounty hunters, carrying a powerful magical item. This particular object that each of us have as ring, can create portals to distant worlds at will. But the bizarre aspect is how you're able to get here in the first place, since you original belong to the world, Qiniel. Because our item is not authorized for anyone in the world we came from, unless you have a specific contract, as we have,'' explained Ivicka.

Suddenly, Keagen feels the effects of hunger again. "Damn it! Not again, why did it come back, [*Augh*]. I'd better not tell her or the others. Not until I figure out why I'm really here," Keagen remarked, having an internal monologue.

"Hey, you don't look so well?'' said Ivicka in concern.

"I'm okay, just a worried about someone,'' responded Keagen, looking down worried.

"I can see that, it's your mother you're worried about. Well, I can relate with that feeling, because to be honest. I myself have a 7 year old son too at my home world, waiting on me,'' replied Ivicka.

"Huh?'' replied Keagen.

"Yeah, and I want to go back to him as much as you do with your mom, so...is it okay if we cooperate? So my partners will understand their mistakes and let you go to your family,'' said Ivicka.

Dugeziel, resting against the table, gazing at his silver vintage clock and thinking, "A clever woman, this young boy won't know what's gonna hit him."

Meanwhile, Keagen replied to Ivicka, "...Yeah, I have another bothersome question. Why would that crystal led you and your group of fellow hunters to me? Because it is evident that I don't know nothing of magic, until this moment.''

Ivicka answered as she stepped around Keagen and stood behind his chair, before continuing. "We... don't know yet, but if you let me, I could help you resolve this matter right now so you may go home to your mother," said Ivicka, looking at Keagen , while behind him.

-----------------------------

She rested her hand on the back of the chair and added, ''You know, I figured out why I chose to help you. I've noticed that you don't remember anything about your own pass. So it is apparent that a guy like you is unaware that he is a vampire and may have had his memories erased or suppressed.

"What did she mean? My memories is taken? If it had been removed from me, then my mother would of known. Unless, she did know, but instead, she decided to keep it as a secret, merely for me to be safe. But, I have to find out what's so dangerous about this memories that she is so scared of in letting me know,'' said keagen, thinking to himself.

"Well, if that is the case, I am willing for you to help me with this amnesia they gave me,'' Keagen replied, tilting his head slightly to the left and conversing with Ivicka.

The woman smiled and replied, ''Okay, I will gladly assist.''

Meanwhile, Akviad is leaning against the wall, aware that the enchantment is about to come to an end due to Keagen's increased hunger.

"Ivicka!" exclaimed Akviad as she looked where he was standing and saw him discreetly pointing to his red ring.

Ivicka nod her head in agreement to her leader.

Keagen on the other hand, became unaware of her leaning forward to his right ears, providing him a heads of her magical abilities, ''But...be warned, it may cause a discomfort at the beginning, but will reside in the process.''

Keagen, feeling a little startled by her approach, had regained himself and answered, "Thanks.''

During the conversation that was about to end soon, he felt his hunger grow stronger, but he still ignored it.

"Okay, but let us get know each other, to build out trust, before attempting this magic,'' said Ivicka.

"Alright,'' replied Keagen.

"Good to know, so my name is Ivick, that's Dugeziel over there and that's... Akviad, our leader; what's your name?'' Ivicka asked.

"Keagen.''

"Nice to meet you, Keagen; I hope this between us may turn out okay, after recovering your memories,'' said Ivicka.

"Yeah... I hope so too,'' responded Keagen.

"The pass is the pass they say, but in my situation, some pass will restored itself if something is not right and is missing. Like, where do I really come from? What's the secret that mother swore to hide? I'm curious about this mystery.''

"So, if this is the only way to get out of this abandoned building, I'm willing to take the offer she's giving me, just to see my mom feeling happy that I'm home safe and that I'm living a normal life again. However, I'm not certain of the normal aspect since I'll know who I was. Wait, oh no, to think of it, my life would change completely after what she about to do. Okay, now I feel like cowering away. It's now scary since I rethink it over.''

''Are you ready?'' Ivicka ask.

"Yeah...Yeah I'm ready,'' replied Keagen.

Meanwhile, Ivicka standing behind Keagen's chair. Looked at Dugeziel who was watching his ring glowing. Dugeziel felt her gaze and returned it, then looked away, humiliated that his plan had failed.

She smiled and turn her attention to her leader, who realized and stared back at her. While they gazed at one other, he nodded once to acknowledge what she was doing to Keagen.

"Okay Keagen, I'll need to relax before I begin,'' said Ivicka.

Keagen repositioned himself and breathed deeply to minimize anxiety.

"Okay, this is it; I've already accepted her offer, and now there is no going back,'' said Keagen in his head as he took a deep breather and exhaled.

After Keagen had fully prepared, Ivicka gently placed her fingers on the left and right sides of Keagen's head and began using her memory-restore powers.

At that same time, Keagen's eyes widened and his pupils immediately dilated as he felt his buried memories rapidly return.
