Sillia, staring at her husband in despondent. Largen noticed and approached his wife, placing his right hand beneath her chin, raising her head, and kissed her on her on her lips.
''Sillia, you know I love you, right? And because of that, I will fulfill your wish in convincing them to be on the right side,'' said Largen.
Sillia smiled at her husband and replied, ''I sincerely hope you'll try your best in doing so.''
Largen replied, ''I will, my sweetheart. Alright, I must go, and I will surely come back safely for you and my son soon.''
He gave her a kiss on the lips once again, got up from her, picked up his hunting bag, and headed his way to fight the rebellious vampire.
***************
Strolling carefully within the woods. Largen looks both left and right, holding his crossbow, while his 5 comrades do the same.
Describing the forest that they were in. It was wet and gloomy, with tall pine trees. Ravens roamed the landscape, crowing on each branches.
Leakiel, who was walking alongside Largen, started questioning his leader: ''Um, Largen, sir, are you sure they're not already aware of our presence?''
"Hmm, you know, I think you're right; this place does feel like eyes are watching us,'' responded Largen.
Garlah, walking alongside her members, begins to respond to Largen and Leakiel conversation, ''Well, we can't be sure yet, but we still have to keep our guards up, just in case.''
"Yeah, we should definitely do what she mentioned,'' said Largen, holding his crossbow firmly in alert of his surrounding.
They all continued walking for awhile, brushing aside bushes until they reach their objective.
Largen halted for a moment and took out his nocturnal compass to confirm the vampires location.
"Yup, we are close. Let's keep moving,'' said Largen.
Suddenly, a horrifying incident occurred. One of their members, Orlis, were swiftly taken from them, while they were focusing ahead of them.
"AARGH!''
After a loud cry behind his fellow members, the voice of Orrlas, echoed within the forest while he was being killed.
Meanwhile, the voice was heard from behind Largen and his other hunters. Largen, follow by them, immediately turned around and saw that one of there members was taken.
"Damn it! It's an ambush! Run!'' commanded Largen in terror.
Layli, Leakiel, Garlah and Ergas, both understood and followed his command.
Running briskly in fear, Largen breathes heavily, followed by his group, who hastily moves towards the glade up ahead.
"Alright, there it is; don't stop running, you hear me!'' exclaimed Largen.
As they approached the open glade at a distance of around 22 meters, another member unexpectedly snatched them away.
"AAAARGH!!''
Largen's reaction to hearing the cry of fright from behind, caused him to run even faster to his location. The others who were with him hastened to get there as well.
******************
[*Panting heavily*]
Escaping the terror behind them. Garlah bending with her hands rest on her knee, panicked with her eyes widen and said,'' No. No-no-no. How?.... How could this happen?!''
Layli standing alongside Garlah, placed her hand on her shoulder and said, "I'm truly sorry that you lost you've lost your bother, Egras. It was not your fault or ours that this had happened.''
Leakiel, seeing how the situation had turn out. Made him hang his head down in grief over his slain comrades.
Largen, feeling down for the lost of his two members, turned to Garlah and Layli, saying, ''Well, we all are shaken for what just happen, for they were a truly a brave comrade of ours. Garlah, my condolence, it was... unexpected to lose our love ones like that.''
Garlah sniffled, after shedding tears for her lost. "I'm going to have my revenge for my brother and our friend Orlis. There death will surely not be in vein!'' exclaimed Garlah, clenching her fist in rage.
At that same time, she picked up her crossbow and stood up, fearlessly to kill any vampire that dear approached before her.
Largen and the others saw her fury and agreed as well.
At the midst of all the members. An enigmatic person approached the scene, standing behind them on the grassy open space of the woods.
"Well! What a surprise! you all got out here safely. Well, not all actually made it out here alive, since two of your members is gone. So, it's my condolence,'' said the vampire sarcastically, bowing and grinning away his teeth.
Garlah with immense fury to kill the vampire before her, raised her weapon and fired. But unfortunately, the bolt reaching towards his left eyes was swiftly slapped away by the vampire's right hand.
"Oh come on, you think your foolish toy can kill me,'' said the vampire.
Garlah without a second thought, quickly reloaded her crossbow and raised it one more time to shoot him.
"We'll see about that," said Garlah.
Suddenly, Largen grabbed her by the hand, shifting away her aim from the vampire.
"Hey! What are doing that for?!'' said Garlah.
"Just wait a second and let me talk to him first!'' implied Largen.
"Why?! that bastard must die!'' responded Garlah in rage.
"Just listen to me, Garlah! He's not alone, and they're also quite clever. Please, I know you're angry, and I do understand that. However, being reckless will not justify anything; instead, it will only cause us to lose far more than what we have now. Do you understand?'' responded Largen.
Garlah stared into Largen's eyes, realizing that he was right, then laid her crossbow to her side.
"Okay, I understand, forgive me,'' replied Garlah as she hung down her head, feeling sorry for almost making such a reckless decision.
"Garlah, there is no need to feel sorry for yourself on what you are about to do. It's just that I have some questions for his cruel intension,'' responded Largen.
"[*Cracking up*] Oooh! Well done! I see that you figured it out. Because for a moment there, I thought I had to command my fellow coven to kill you all right here and now—[*Sigh*] that would be such a turn off for my taste,'' stated the mysterious vampire.
"What do you want? Why do you choose to defy the contract we made together in the past,'' Largen asked, stepping forward from within his group.
"Contract? Screw the contract! You humans, made us into a fool all these years, suppressing our true self and used us for your own benefit!'' replied enigmatic vampire.
"You meant our... benefit, don't twist the statement,'' said Largen.
"But I'm telling the hard facts! We powerful beings had been robbed of our pride and strength. Honestly I feel like I'm becoming weak like you mortals and it's...disturbing to notice that,'' stated the vampire.
"No! you're still what you are, but are more than less of a disgusting bloodthirsty monsters you used to be. Simply put, you became a value to us, a companion and a ally that we don't have to scorn or be afraid of anymore. Don't you want that to continue?" stated Largen.
"No, I don't, I prefer being fearsome, I prefer…to be respected as the wolf of the night. That no one would dear to cross a territory we made for habitat for our selves," replied the vampire.
"Why? Why not the pills which help you all these years to quench your thirst, and to live a peaceful life with us humans? Why chose to do absurd things over this? Tell me,'' Largen asks in concern.
"Well, that's simple. I'm tired of taking those pills, I am tired of blending in with you weak mortals and to be honest with you, I know you despised us as before. So, you humans use those blood pill as an excuse to feel above us all, you want to make us look weak and helpless, depending on those tablets that we don't even know what's inside them.
But let tell you something about us, we are not helpless or sick, we don't need your stupid pills. Our true selves is to drink living blood, that's what we are, our nature to take what's infront of us. Furthermore, we vampires don't need any change,'' answered the mysterious vampire, pacing the ground left and right, facing sideways to Largen.
But after finishing his statement, he halted at the left.
"Wow! I...understand now. You're beginning to lose your self control. Like listening to what you're saying is a total excuse to justify your cold and unlawful desire," responded Largen.
"I don't need self control to act on my nature. For that's who we are, a lion that hunts his prey, for there is no stoping that,'' responded the vampire.
"Well, I see... there is no convincing you to be on the right side anymore. Your evil desires had consumed you,'' replied Largen.
"No, it didn't, but instead it opens our eyes to our rightful calling,'' responding the vampire.
Leakiel, standing 6 meters behind his leader, which he began holding his crossbow tightly and spoke among his members close to him," Layli, Garlah, prepare yourself, for I'm not seeing no agreement between those two.''
"You're right, he wasn't as sorry for what he did, and I'm okay with that, because it gives me more of the obliged to kill him," Garlah replied with a cool look on her face.
"Yup, that's true. Let us take out our booster and ready for our leader's command,'' Layli remarked.
"Right,'' said both Leakiel and Garlah, agreeing with Layli's suggestion.
"So...it's what it is, then?'' Largen asked.
"Yes, that is what it is. The never-ending cycle of wolf hunting the helpless prey,'' replied the mysterious vampire with a evil grin under his eyes.
Largen took a deep breath in disappointment and took out a small tablet, then stared at it for a moment. He said to himself in a calm manner,''[*Sigh*] Sillia, I've tried my best to convince them, but it seems they have chose this path. Forgive me for what I'm about to do.''
After saying those words to himself, he turn around to his comrades and said to said them, ''Okay, they have made their final decision! So, it's obvious that we to take our booster and end them quickly!''
"With great pleasure!'' said Garlah, immediately taking her booster pill follow by the rest.
Within that same moment, they took the blue tablet, which caused all their pupils to dilate and gain immense superhuman abilities.
"Hahaha! Oh, my, this is gonna be quite exciting! My food is fighting against me!'' said the mysterious vampire to himself as he continued,'' Do you really think you can take on all of us? For I can offer you two option you: Run and hope to live to see another day or fight and accept being lunch—''
"Shut your mouth up you blood sucker! You don't have a say in this; now prepare yourself for your impending death!'' said Largen with rage in his eyes and dark vein grown on the side of his left neck. Largen and his comrade began raising up there crossbow to fire.
"Oh, okay, so you chose to be a easy meal then. Alright, before you meet your agonizing death, can we at least introduce ourselves?'' asked the vampire.
Largen responded while holding his crossbow, aiming at his target. "I thought you're done with civilizing?'' Largen inquired.
"Yes, I do, but a little courtesy between both rivals wouldn't hurt to tell there name first,'' replied the vampire with a calm posture.
Largen lay down his guard for a moment and replied, "Alright, I don't see any problem with that. Well, I'm Largen.''
"And I'm Talbestion, the leader of my coven. Honesty, the reason for this introduction is to let know that it's nothing personal, but a nature of survival,'' replied Talbestion, as 14 of his coven appeared and stood beside him for the battle.
"Hmm, I can totally understand that, but on our end. It's definitely personal for killing two of my members,'' replied Largen as he raised up his crossbow again at Talbestion and added,'' Alright, no more conversing between us.''
"Oh, I like that, straight to the fight!'' replied Talbestion, as he stepped aback and allowed his vampire members to stand In front of him.
At that same time, all the vampires shouted in wrath and immediately charged at Largen and his team.
With a swift shot from Largen's crossbow, one of the vampires racing at him was struck in the chest and reduced to ashes.
The other vampires that were going at full speed at the hunters, got bolted down, one-by-one and died.
They continue to reload and fire fast with their crossbow. The vampires moved closer and closer to them, until Largen, Garlah, Layli, and Leakiel had no alternative but to engage in lethal fight from all angles as they neared.
A swift stab in the chest by Garlah, had caused the female vampire to quickly turned to ashes.
Meanwhile, Layli delivered a fast spin kick, causing the male vampire to whirl in the air before falling to the ground. He was immediately hit by a bolt in the chest and perished in ashes.
Leakiel, on the other hand, took a right fist from a vampire. He then collapsed, half unconscious, for a few seconds. At that same time, he tried to crawl away for survival.
