Back on Earth, in the main base built by Ashkat and Morgan, a fortress stood tall in the snow. The main base was so large that it was as high as a mountain, with a towerlike dungeon that was larger than the already large walls, resembling a fortress or dungeon of modernity. It was fortified by large pillars on both floors, about 10 of them each, each floor being around 40 feet high. The walls were adorned with glowing orbs, which replaced traditional light bulbs. The wall painted a stony ash color. The ceiling had additional space, with the top floor resembling a penthouse, offering a panoramic view of the snowy fields.
The most fascinating aspect of the base which took no more than 3 weeks to build, was its basement, accessible via a long, spiral stone staircase. The dungeon was the largest space in the structure, spanning over 80 feet in height.
This would serve as their main base, with the basement layer designated as a prison or reservoir for human prisoners.
On the second floor, a room replicated the palace throne room, albeit on a smaller scale. A long table with 22 seats and a larger chair at the head, reserved for the King, dominated the space. The room was illuminated by individual floating orbs that came together to form a grand chandelier, crafting a complex yet beautiful pattern. One of the walls was made entirely of unbreakable glass, offering a clear view from the inside but preventing outside access.
Currently, a stunning woman with long, straight white hair and a white tonic with red leather chest armor gazed out through the glass wall. Her long skirt was cut fashionably to her waist length, showcasing her toned legs, which were clad in long leather boots with heels, adding to her formidable height. She exuded a sense of danger and fashion, her very presence commanding attention, as she stood there, her slender legs visible beneath the long skirt, her eyes fixed on nothing specifically but the snowy field in the distance.
A man emerged from the dark corner, his footsteps echoing off the stone walls. He was dressed in a jet black, neatly ironed shirt and trousers, paired with elegant shoes, giving him a sleek and refined appearance, similar to someone wearing a suit, minus the jacket. His eyes fixed on the lady, he approached her with a confident stride, his hands folded elegantly behind his back.
"You've outdone yourselves. The fortress is impressive, a true testament to Lady Ashkat's ingenuity," Kael said, his voice laced with admiration.
Morgan turned to face him, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Kael, how long have you been lurking in the shadows?" she asked, a hint of irritation in her voice.
"Long enough to know you were lost in thought, gazing out at the snowy landscape," Kael replied, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "Or perhaps you were contemplating the king's next move?"
Morgan's gaze returned to the glass wall, her expression unreadable. "You're as stealthy as a ghost, Kael. I'll give you that."
Kael chuckled. "Someone has to keep you on your toes, Morgan. I've returned from the king, there held a court meeting. I informed him of the fortress's completion and your preparations for the upcoming battle."
Morgan's eyes flashed with annoyance. "You took it upon yourself to report to the king before I could? How...thoughtful of you, Kael."
Kael's smile widened. "I knew you'd appreciate my efficiency. Baroness Nightshade and Buck will be arriving soon, with the first wave of reinforcements. And, by the way, please give Ashkat my greetings."
Morgan's response was laced with sarcasm. "Oh, of course, I'd be delighted to pass on your greetings. I'm sure she'll be thrilled."
Kael's laughter echoed through the room as he began walking back to the dark corner, his footsteps echoing off the stone walls, his hands still folded elegantly behind his back. "You're as charming as ever, Lady Morgan. Expect more reinforcements from Kent and Ravenswood. Until next time, Duchessss...." His voice faded into the darkness, and he stepped into the shadows, disappearing from sight leaving no trace as if he was never there.
As the darkness swallowed Kael's figure, the sound of footsteps echoed through the room, growing louder . The doors slid open, and Ashkat, the Baroness, walked in, her elegance and grace commanding attention. Her black hair was tied into a neat bun behind her head, showcasing her sharp features and piercing eyes. Her long black dress flowed behind her like a dark waterfall, its intricate designs and embroidery a testament to her refined taste.
Despite her elegant appearance, there was an aura of authority and strength surrounding her, a sense of quiet power that demanded respect. Her dark eyes narrowed slightly as she approached Morgan, her voice firm but measured.
"Duchess Morgan, was that Kael you were just talking to, or you were talking to yourself?" Ashkat asked.
Morgan turned to face her, a hint of frustration still lingering in her voice. "It was Kael, Baroness. He's already taken credit for our accomplishments here, as usual."
Ashkat's expression turned thoughtful, her eyes never leaving Morgan's face. "I see. Well, we can't let him have all the glory, can we, Morgan?" A hint of a smile played on her lips.
