Thank goodness the door was already locked.
"Who's there?!" she asked apprehensively.
"Noelle It's me Westley. I had been looking for you all around the house."
"What do you want?" she questioned, feeling thankful inwardly that she had remembered to lock the door before going in. What would she had done if she hadn't remembered?
Speaking from behind the door was Westley, "I met mother not too long ago, she said she was going out. So she left the house keys with me, but I'm also going out now too, so I thought I should hand the house key over to you before I leave."
"May I come in?" Westley asked, wanting to open the door and come in without waiting for Noelle's replies first, so as to drop the keys and leave quickly as he was in a hurry. But soon realized that the door was locked.
"Oh…? The door is locked Noelle," he said to the mermaid.
"Uh yes…. You can't come in! I'm naked in here. Just drop the keys on the floor I'll pick it up later!" Noelle stated, although it felt quite embarrassing to say that she was naked, especially to Westley of all people, but she knew that she had to say it. Causing her cheeks to burn red slightly.
"Huh… okay. I'll leave the keys on the floor for you then. Also Noelle, you're too forgetful, so don't misplace it, do you hear me?"
"I won't, I promise. Now just go already," Noelle hasted.
Meanwhile in Westley's point of view, he thought Noelle was just being annoying just as always, and also quite embarrassed that she was naked, so she wanted him to go quickly. When actually that wasn't really the case at all in Noelle's point of view, but it was part of it too though. Thus Westley promptly dropped the keys on the floor, saying;
"I'm off then."
"Okay bye," Noelle prompted a reply. And immediately after that, she could hear some faints sounds of footsteps departing away from her room door, until she could no longer hear them again.
Realizing that Westley was gone.
Noelle took in a deep breath. And that has to be the most relieving breath she had ever taken.
Ignoring all that. She focused back on the business at hand, as she stared back intensely at her emerald green mermaid tail which also matched her emerald green eyeballs perfectly.
'Making the tears flow down from my eyes should be easy, I think…' she thought to herself.
'All I just have to do is think about what makes me extremely sad, then I would be able to get some few drop of tears and store them inside the jar until that fateful day.'
'I'll have to do this tomorrow too and also the day after, if I want to be able to get enough tears to fill this jar up to some decent extent.'
Gathering aside all her thoughts. She adjusted herself and tried all her best to move, which was really hard as her whole body had became slimy and covered with thick goo.
After so much effort, she eventually moved towards the bed, where she leaned herself. She knew that she had to be quick with anything she wanted to do. First reason being that she was taking a risk of being seen by others through the windows, and secondly she was already in her mermaid form, so not staying in the sea or any type of water source during this transformation might be deadly to her, as she shouldn't stay on land too long while in her mermaid form, or else she might die of dehydration within several hours.
Hastily thinking back to every unfortunate events that had happened in her entire lifetime. Including when her mother died of that unfortunate illness, and including when the rest of her family died in the past war.
And it didn't take long before she began weeping. Besides, she was already grieving before over her family's destruction, so making tears come out of her eyes was quite easy.
She shed tears for almost an hour, collecting it in the small jar every now and then, knowing that those tears of hers were precious. Even precious enough to help her with the revenge she was planning to seek on the evil dragon, King Axel. Now she wouldn't have to waste her money to buy any expensive poison from those annoying and deceitful merchants.
After receiving a satisfying amount of tears, Noelle hastily decided to wear her pearl decorated bracelet back on her wrist.
Simply because she was already starting to feel dizzy and extremely weak. It would'nt be good to end up dying before seeking her revenge, and especially in her mermaid form.
Therefore she promptly put on her pearl bracelet. And immediately after putting it on, her body began to ache slightly, but not as much as when she was transforming into a mermaid creature.
Few minutes later…
All her mermaid features had disappeared.
She was done transforming back to a human, and back to her beautiful self again.
And this made her relieved. As she sighed blissfully. Closing her eyes out of exhaustion she layed on the floor for some time. Feeling quite weak to move. She now felt awkward again.
Eventually getting up. 'Lest I forget. I need to write a letter to Silvia and James before I go to the castle. I might not have the time to do that when I get there.'
'Let me quickly write it now. And I'll ask Westley to take me to wherever he knows that people normally go to in order to deliver their letters through the carrier pigeon tomorrow.' Noelle concluded.
But first, before she began writing. She rapidly went towards the door to pickup the keys which Westley had dropped on the floor earlier.
Picking it up, Noelle went back inside her room.
'Now let's get writing then!'
Looking forward at the small drawer situated somewhere in her room, Noelle hastily went towards the place, opening it up, she brought out a scroll from there.
Noelle aimed the scroll on the table, she sat down. Then began gently crushing down some inkcake with the slightly heavy inkstone. She added a bit of water to dilute it, and afterwards it was good to go.
Noelle picked up an inkbrush, and deep it into the inkwell carefully.
She placed it on the scroll and began to write away her heart.
Although Noelle had lost all her family. However, people like the likes of James, Silvia, Madam Danielle, and of course her so called annoying big brother, which was also her best friend, Westley, were people who had made her not to despise this world even more than she already has.
Thus, she was going to write to James and Silvia as she has already seen them as one of her own.
