Noelle continued chasing after the letter that flew away from her hand, and that was hovering above the air and away from her.
Although her legs ached direly, even so, she continued running as she couldn't afford to lose the letter which she had spent so much time crafting into perfection.
Elevating her hands up in the air, she jumped up high.
"Gotcha!" Noelle smiled and panted upon clasping her letter once again. She was about to go back to the mail office and wait for Westley there as instructed, but was stopped when something caught her attention.
'What's going on?' she thought as she walked closer to find out about it.
It was a large crowd, and they seemed pretty displeased and interested by what was going on.
She moved farther into the noisy crowd. Eventually percepting what was going on, she could vividly see that a carriage has accidentally hit someone who was hawking some goods alongst the market street. The person was a woman, she sat on the floor haggardly and struggled to get back on her feets.
All the eggs she was selling had already collided with the muddy soil, and had broken apart.
Noelle immediately felt pity for the woman. She could only imagine herself being in the woman's shoes. And to top it all, non of the passer-by and crowds were helping the injured woman up .
"Woman! Move out of the way already!" The horseman who was responsible for hitting the woman with the carriage scowled furiously at the injured woman.
Noelle pitifully watched as the woman's eyes became extremely teary. The woman sluggishly got up with a blood stained dress, she didn't say a thing, but only just moved aside obediently for the carriage to pass as though fearing what they might do if she complained or sat there for long.
"These damned wealthy people! Always thinking that they have the whole world in the palm of their hands!" Noelle muttered in annoyance.
Her eyes widened furiously. Noelle knew she couldn't just watch beside the sidelines and watch how her people are being treated so unfairly, it breaks her heart. Those people couldn't even pay for the damages they've done to the woman. Although Noelle wasn't a wealthy princess anymore, but at least this people were still her people, and she must also at least protect them one way or the other.
Noelle clenched her fists. And violently dashed towards the direction of the carriage. Dabbing her black staff harshly against the muddy soil.
She stood unexpectedly in front of the carriage, leaving the passer-by and crowd in awe as they curiously took note of the situation, watching anxiously.
With her cheeks burning red in rage, "Stop the carriage!" Noelle yelled exasperatedly. And almost immediately the horseman hastily pulled the reins of the horse so as to stop the carriage before accidentally hitting someone else again.
Knowing that it was on purpose, Knight Desmond who was the one riding the horse couldn't help but became furious at the lady;
"Young Lady, what do you think you're doing in front of the carriage?! You could've gotten yourself killed for gods sake!" He admonished as he wiggled his head. "Now move aside!"
"I won't!" Noelle stated.
Hearing this Knight Desmond got down from his horse, and so did Amaar and the rest of the two Guards accompanying them.
"Why are you standing in the way? What do you want from us?!" Desmond questioned furiously.
Elevating her black staff and pointing it towards the Knights and Guards in a threatening manner. She then pointed it towards the woman who was hit by the carriage earlier.
"Because of your incompetency in conveying the carriage properly. My friend over there now has to suffer the consequences of your actions. And now everything she is selling has been ruined by your foul riding skills."
Desmond furrowed his eyebrows, pushing down Noelle's black staff which was pointed to his face away.
"What are you trying to insinuate, Young Lady? Everyone here knows that it was an accident, and if she hadn't been too slow in crossing the road then this wouldn't have happened in the first place. And anyways you aren't the one who got hit, so why are you causing us so much trouble?!" Desmond disagreed to Noelle's claims, although he knew that they were partly at fault, simply because they had been riding the carriage with haste, due to the fact that they were in a hurry. But he didn't want to agree with Noelle's claims.
Noelle sighed, bringing down her black staff, she was determined to get justice for the woman who appeared frightened, in any way possible.
"I don't care if it was an accident or not. Since your carriage bumped into her, and now all her goods has been destroyed. Then you should pay for it!"
"Why should we pay for it when it's not our fault, uh? It doesn't seem quite fair in my perspective!" Desmond tackled, staring ferociously at the annoying young lady.
"You wealthy people seems to have no dignity as one would've thought you had. Because if you truly have one, then you would've at least felt some empathy towards the poor woman. And even if it's just half of the amount of the eggs that you broke is what you're willing to pay her. Then I'm sure she would've appreciated it! But instead all she got was a scolding from you!"
"Young Lady, it seems you don't know who's carriage this is, now do you? Why am I even arguing with you?! Guards!" Desmond exclaimed! "Move her out of the way this instant! We're running late, we can't afford to waste anymore time on the road! We've wasted enough already!"
With that said, the two menacing Guards that had been following them earlier, hastily went towards Noelle, they grabbed her by the arms and moved her out of the way aggressively.
"Wait…! What're you doing? Let go of me! You can't leave without paying for the goods you've destroyed!" Noelle bellowed. Elevating her black staff viciously, she landed it upon one of the Guard's hands. Causing him to whimper in pain and hastily let go of Noelle's arm. And so did the other Guard too, afraid that he might get the same punishment from Noelle.
"What are you two doing? Hold her back! Now!" Knight Amaar snapped at the two Guards, and they hastily clasped Noelle's arms forcibly once again.
"You'll pay for this! Let go of me! How dare you hold me like that? Did your mothers never taught you about how to respect women, or is it that you just decided to lack proper manners yourself! Uh?!" Noelle uttered, struggling to break free from their firm clasps.
When suddenly, she could sense someone came out of the carriage. And one of the Knights hastily ran up to the person who came out of the carriage. The Knight opened an umbrella for the man, and casted it above his head as they walked towards Noelle and the others.
Noelle could now vividly discern the man as he came closer to them. He had a very thick orange hairs, similar to the color of a raging sun. His eyeballs were orange as well matching his hairs, and his possessive and formidable figure screamed abundant wealth and affluence.
Noelle watched as the charming man approached her figure. She found him extremely handsome as her mouth parted in awe of his domineering and attractive demeanor.
However, poor Noelle didn't know that the man she currently found extremely attractive was her nemesis, the mighty evil dragon, King Axel. She had never seen him before, neither has she seen any portraits of him, therefore she couldn't tell that it was him.
Axel came forward, with his orange eyeballs confused as to why his two Guards were aggressively holding onto a beautiful teenage young lady, who was clenching onto a shabby looking black staff that looked quite awkward.
Before Axel could say a word, Desmond who was holding an umbrella for Axel spoke, leaning closely towards Axel, he whispered which Noelle couldn't have heard;
"Your Majesty. You can go back to the carriage. We're working on it please don't worry about—"
Interrupting Desmond, "Since when have you become the one to instruct me on what to do?" Axel frowned at Desmond, making sure he reminded him of his place. Ignoring him, Axel stared forward, "What's with all this commotion? Tell me exactly what's going on here this instant! I want to know," Axel demanded, his hairs were already starting to become hotter than before, which meant he was becoming furious.
The people's eyes widened in horror as they saw that it was their King who came out of the carriage. Some hastily moved away from the scene and ran away, while some unmannered gossipers still stood behind, wanting to see how everything would go.
Desmond spoke hesitantly, "This Young Lady here decided to stand in front of the carriage for no reason, and when we try to get her to leave she began causing a commotion for us here to stop us from leaving!"
