It was afternoon already. The beautiful mermaid could be seen delicately sitting on the porch of the brick made house.
She seemed to be in anticipation as her emerald green eyes appeared worried and extremely impatient, with her hands clutching her red gown anxiously.
As though she was expecting something, she perpetuated glaring significantly at the street in front of the house.
Watching each and everyone that passed by expectantly.
'Westley has been gone all morning. I wonder why he isn't back yet. Could Lord Abraham have refused to not help us with the job anymore? Or maybe there's just something else delaying him that I'm not aware of?' Noelle thought as she fidgeted her black hairs anticipatedly.
'I just hope that Lord Abraham wouldn't have ended up changing his mind.'
Noelle exhaled apprehensively as she looked downwards.
When suddenly she sensed someone's figure approaching her, causing her to hastily lift up her head, as she stared forward.
"You're finally back!" Noelle jubilated, as a warm smile manifested her lips upon percepting Westley approaching her gently.
"Yes, I'm back," Westley replied. Then he went towards Noelle, and sat down on the porch too beside her.
"How did it go? Did Lord Abraham accepted the coin, uh?" Noelle asked impatiently with the most curious eyes ever.
"Noelle quickly get me a cup of water first. As you can see I was just coming back from this harsh sun, and it's all because of you. So you should at least offer me water to drink first."
"Okay, I'll be right back," Noelle stated.
She hastily got up from the porch, and went inside for some few minutes, then soon came back with the cup of water Westley wanted.
"Here you go," Noelle offered, and Westley took it from her and gulped it all down.
Noelle sat down back on the porch patiently waiting for Westley to finish drinking the water she got for him, before she start blasting him again with loads of questions.
Westley exhaled in satisfaction upon consuming all the whole water, placing the cup beside him.
Seeing this, "Westley tell me, how did it go? Will I get the Maidservant job?" Noelle asked in anticipation.
"Yes you will, so relax. Lord Abraham said he would speak with his butler friend on your behalf, and in three days time a carriage would be sent to come pick you up, and take you to the castle. So Noelle you need to start preparing yourself."
"That's good to hear!" Noelle smiled genuinely. She had been so anxious all day long, luckily it was now good news eventually. 'Finally I'm making progress, and soon I'll be able to seek my revenge on that lowlife dragon as I've planned!' she said inwardly.
"Thank you Westley. And also, I'm sorry for all this stress I had put you through just to get the Maidservant job."
"That's okay. I mean what are friends for? But remember Noelle, eventually if they start paying you at the castle for the job, I'm also entitled to you salary, understood?" Westley said jokingly.
Noelle chuckled, pushing Westley's shoulder gently.
"Of course you are. I'll make sure to remember that."
Feeling satisfied, Westley said, "Good!"
"Anyways, let me quickly go in. I need to start preparing. And I also need to inform Madam Danielle about my departure. But Westley, you also have to make a promise to me."
"About what?" Westley raised an eyebrow.
"You need to promise me that you would never ever tell Madam Danielle anything about me working as a Maidservant in King Axel's castle. If she ever asks you about it, just tell her that I'm working at a fast-food joint, and that there's also accomodation there too. I'll tell her the same thing too. Do you hear me?"
"Okay I've heard you, I promise I won't mention a thing to her," Westley rolled his eyes exasperatedly as he rested his hands above the porch and leaned backwards slightly.
Causing Noelle to smile and pull his cheeks snarkily, "Aren't you just the most understanding big brother anyone could ever ask for?" Noelle praised, although more like teasing him.
Rapidly moving away his cheeks from Noelle's fingers. Westley grunted with a trivial frown.
"You're well aware of the fact that I'm still not in support of this. So don't try to sweettalk me at all. Just go away."
"You're so stubborn Westley!" Noelle hissed, and walked away from Westley happily, with the satisfaction of having gotten the Maidservant job she had always wanted from the start.
"You're the stubborn one Noelle! You never listen to me!"
"I do listen to you," Noelle stated in defense.
"If so, then why do you still intend on working at King Axel's castle when I specifically told you not to?"
"That's because… forget about it. I've told you earlier that it's because of the pay. That's why I want to work there, nothing else," Noelle stated.
"Noelle I don't care about the reason you want to work there. All I just know is that I don't want you to work th…" Westley soon stopped talking after turning to realize that Noelle was nowhere to be found.
"Silly brat!" he fumfered in displeasure.
Noelle had already gotten into the house before Westley could finish his sentence, ignoring Westley purposely.
Closing the door from behind.
Noelle pulled a long sigh.
She knew that occasionally putting on a million dollar smile on her face was just a mask she had always been using to hide away her true sorrows, agony, depression and grief. However, deep down, her whole head was a mess within her. A total mess!
Getting over her decease family was the hardest punishment she had encountered. Noelle felt as though, perhaps if she decided to go on a quest for revenge, then that way her sorrows would lessen and she would feel the satisfaction of victory.
Besides, she knew that she was alive for a reason.
And as the sole survivor of the Nirvana family, she couldn't just sit around all day, and watch King Axel rule over what does not belong to him in any way, while she curved her head in shame and weep all day. Impossible! To her that's a sign of weakness, but although she wasn't well refined with physical strength, still yet she wasn't going to lay low and wail in pain like a weakling.
…
Walking farther into the house.
Noelle could only pray inwardly, 'I pray that the heavens would support me in this! Father, mother, and my two older brothers. Please support me in this from wherever you are. I've promised that I would avenge your deaths, and that is what I'll do! I won't go back on my words for anything!'
She walked over to her room direction, reaching there, she went in and shut the door behind.
'I shouldn't pack much. I'm sure they wouldn't let me wear casual clothes since they have their respective Maidservant uniform. I should just pack a few things I would need,' Noelle decided.
Leaning her body against her room door.
An evilish smile curved up on her lips as she thought about something, 'But first, I need to cry.'
With that thought, she moved towards a small drawer beside her bed, opening it, she brought out a small jar in which she wanted to use in collecting the fresh mermaid tears from her eyes.
"This should do," she muttered under her breaths.
As a mermaid that she was, a mermaid's tears are the most sweetest of all substance. Its flavor is extremely exquisite, like a sugary syrup flavoured with honeydew. However when consumed by humans, they are the most poisonous and deadliest of all substance in existence. It could lead to immediate death.
Meaning a mermaid's tears is a fair description of the old saying: what tastes good can also kills.
Noelle knew that she had to start collecting her tears now, knowing that she wouldn't be able to do that when she arrives at the castle. Besides, what better way to make them suffer for their crime than poisoning their meal. It was the best idea she could ever come up with.
Noelle had already planned that she would poison King Axel, and of course not on a normal day, instead she was going to poison him on his wedding day along with his bride. That way, they would meet eachother in hell and suffer. She was going to make them pay!
Although her initial plan wasn't to poison Princess Cassandra along with King Axel, however, knowing that her family were part of those that betrayed their kingdom, then she might as well just take part in it for all Noelle cared about.
Noelle took in a deep breath.
Knowing that she would have to take off her bracelet so as to enable herself to become a mermaid, and that way her tears would be poisonous, since she was still in her human being form so it wouldn't work yet.
Noelle hastily moved toward the door, and locked it firmly to assure her privacy.
Glancing down to her wrist, she eventually took off the bracelet after a long thought about it.
And before she knew it, her legs began to ache trivially, causing her to let out a soft whimper. She glanced at her body, it was starting to change as thick and colorful emerald green scales were already starting to become one with her white skin. As it designed her skin intricately in a form of ladder and zizag steps.
She swallowed.
Sharp huge gills grew out from behind her ears and also grew in straight line from the back of her neck down to her spine. It was quite painful experiencing it. Looking down at her legs, it was starting to join together forcibly, as though a magnet was pulling them close to eachother.
Sharp, penetrating fins shot out like bullets from her feets, which felt extremely painful also, she could only bite her lips as she couldn't let any screams escape from her mouth. Observing those sharp fins of hers, one could tell that it could cut a full-grown human into half with only just one swing.
And before she knew it, she could no longer stand on her feets, as she fell brutally to the floor as though paralyzed. Her body became quite slippery.
Noelle continued panting intensely.
Her hairs became even longer than before, and her beauty multiplied, as her skin shone more brightly than Eden's flaming sword. Her fingernails became longer and sharper, and her eyes portrayed an enticing, but deadly gaze in them.
Her emerald green tails had already returned in full. She was fully back to her mermaid self. Looking almost nothing like her former self, like a water goddess which she truly was.
Noelle let out a sigh as wet liquids cascaded down her face and forehead.
The last time she had felt such an excruciating pain was ten years ago, when her nanny brought her to the sea for the first time when she was nine. She remembered that she had cried so much back then. She cried for days hiding deep beneath the raging sea dreadfully.
This even caused some of the fishes around her to die almost immediately after breathing in the waters around her, due to her poisonous tears having mixed with it. Although if she consumed her tears, it wasn't dangerous to her.
Noelle panted intensely.
Now glancing down at her magnificent long emerald green mermaid tail with a spiky fin.
'Welcome back tail.'
Suddenly there was a soft knock on the door.
'KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!'
Noelle's eyes widened substantially at the sound of the knocks.
