Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 - Plague Mist Part 1

As Sasaki watched the notifications flood his vision, a sense of satisfaction washed over him. Hundreds of messages appeared, detailing the experience points he had earned from defeating the Red Tribe.

[Ding!]

It took some time for Sasaki to choose EXP over skills from all the notifications.

[Total Experience Gained: 2613600]

"Now it's time to level up," Sasaki said to himself, feeling a surge of anticipation.

First, he decided to focus on his class level. He used 2 million experience points to level up from fifty to sixty. With this increase, Sasaki felt a noticeable boost in his abilities. "With level sixty, I'm now close to the level of low-level hobgoblins. I can obliterate them in an instant."

Sasaki decided to level up his class first up to level, 2 Million used to level up from fifty to sixty, with level sixty Sasaki is now close to the low level hobgoblin level and now he can obliterate the level sixty with in instant.

With the remaining 613,600 experience points, he chose to level up his most frequently used skills. The first was 'Epidemic Bullet,' a skill that had proven to be highly effective in battle.

Sasaki decided not to leave for the Black Tribe immediately. He wanted to inspect the Red Tribe area first, aware that his 'Plague Rain' had lingering effects.

The plague water left behind would create a mist when the sun's rays hit the ground, spreading the plague further. Additionally, he didn't have enough mana to cast 'Plague Rain' again and needed a day of rest to replenish it.

From a mile away, Sasaki observed the battlefield through his familiar, Shadow. As he expected, the area had turned into an epidemic center.

A green mist covered the entire base, killing everything within a certain radius. It looked like a ghost town shrouded in a haunting mist.

Sasaki wanted to test how long the plague mist would last. He found a spot under a tree, confident that no one would disturb him. While Shadow monitored the Red Tribe, Sasaki scouted the area to ensure it was safe for him to rest.

Once he felt secure, he lay under the tree, one leg folded, watching the battlefield. He soon noticed a group from the Red Tribe returning from a hunt with a dire wolf on their shoulders.

As they approached the base, they sensed something was wrong. The absence of guards heightened their suspicion.

They threw the dire wolf to the ground, armed themselves, and cautiously approached the entrance. Unaware of the danger, they stepped into the mist.

The first member to enter immediately got infected, and the others followed suit.

They began to cough, their skin showing no signs of melting since it was mist, not rain, but their health started to drop rapidly.

The chain infection took hold, weakening their bodies and causing chaos. They fell to their knees in agony and died within ten minutes.

[You have killed a Level 50 Hobgoblin. Experience gained: 20,000]

[You have killed a Level 55 Hobgoblin Leader. Experience gained: 22,000]

[You have killed a Level 60 Hobgoblin Leader. Experience gained: 24,000]

"Fantastic, plague mist... it's like an after-effect skill. They will still die," Sasaki said, his eyes gleaming with malevolent satisfaction, a dark aura surrounding him.

"Let's see how much longer this mist will last," he mused, intrigued by the persistence of his deadly creation.

Sasaki waited a few minutes, observing the plague mist still covering the battlefield. Minutes turned into an hour, and there was no sign of the mist disappearing. Sasaki checked the 'Plague Rain' skill description in the System again, but it provided no information about the plague mist.

As the sun began to set, he realized he couldn't wait around in the open any longer. It would take him four to five hours to reach his new hideout in the eastern tribe area, so he decided to rest in the Red Tribe's territory to observe the plague mist's effects firsthand.

Confident that any remaining survivors would perish within ten to fifteen minutes of entering the mist, Sasaki felt assured that he could face any leftover hobgoblins without needing his hit-and-run strategy. He also knew he needed to rest and recover his mana fully.

Finding a concealed spot within the Red Tribe's territory, he settled down to rest. He kept a close eye on the battlefield through Shadow, noting how the plague mist continued to spread its lethal effects. As night fell, the area remained eerily quiet, with no signs of life.

Sasaki lay inside of one of the Red Tribe's huts, listening to the cries of the hobgoblins as they entered the base and fell victim to the plague mist.

One by one, they screamed in pain and agony, their voices echoing through the thick, green fog. Each scream was a signal of another enemy succumbing to his deadly skill.

The entire battlefield became a ghost town, filled with the echoes of suffering and death.

Sasaki's expression twisted into a sinister and eerie smile. His eyes gleamed with malevolent satisfaction as he watched the hobgoblins perish. His body exuded dark delight, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the roof, matching the pace of the dying cries.
