Sasaki felt a deep resonance with these words, a sense of purpose and clarity starting to form within him. The Voice continued.
"you must understand that destruction is not an end but a transformation."
"In order for true growth and renewal, the corrupted and decayed must be cleared away. This is the balance of the universe, the dance of creation and destruction."
"Embrace this path, and you will find your true purpose. Do not fear the destruction, for it is the precursor to a brighter dawn."
The words of the Voice lingered in the air, filling Sasaki with a new sense of determination and understanding. He realized that his journey was not just about revenge or power, but about playing his part in the eternal cycle of the universe.
The Voice resumed with a tone of finality, "Now enough with the explanations. There is much more to the story about the multiverse, my love, my promise, but we do not have enough time. You will learn more as you continue on your journey."
"First, listen to your current predicament. You reincarnated on an isolated island, which, as you've realized, is where a certain secret group disposes of their crimes," the Voice continued.
"This island is isolated in the northern part of the Earth, and it takes months to reach here," the Voice explained. "So, you have at least two months before anyone arrives."
"Second, they are all watching you - your growth, your behavior - to see if you will become the Demon King or not. Based on your actions, they will decide whether to spare you or destroy you," the Voice warned.
"Third, the fate of the Demon King is always the same: killed by the hero. No matter how hard you level up or gain power, in the face of absolute power, you are just a grain of sand, disposable at any time," the Voice stated with gravity.
"Fourth, The One Origin System will aid you on your journey. It contains the source of my power and all knowledge. You can find and read this knowledge, but remember, you need to practice the power. It will not be granted without effort. You need to understand the value of hard work and make the power your own through sheer effort and perseverance," the Voice instructed.
"Fifth, you have two choices. Either you continue your path of leveling up using the Illumina system through senseless killing, or you free yourself from the chains that bind you to mortality. Free yourself from the illusion of this world and become the ultimate form of destroyer - the God of Destruction," the Voice offered.
"Whatever you choose after I send you back to your world, the choice is yours. I will not meddle in your decision. You are free to choose your own path," the Voice concluded.
As soon as the Voice finished speaking, Sasaki felt a surge of energy engulf him.
In an instant, he was pulled away from the dark, ethereal realm and thrust back into the world where he was originally reincarnated.
The transition was jarring - one moment he was floating in sea of darkness, and the next, he was lying on the cold, hard ground of the hobgoblin lair.
Sasaki lay there for a moment, staring up at the roof of the cave above him. His mind was swirling with everything he had learned.
The truth about his reincarnation, the manipulation by the goddess of light, and the real reason for his existence in this world weighed heavily on him.
He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, a mix of fear and confusion gripping him tightly.
Slowly, he sat up, his movements deliberate and heavy. His expression was one of deep contemplation, his brows furrowed and his eyes distant.
He hugged his knees to his chest, wrapping his arms around them as if trying to hold himself together.
"What am I supposed to do now?" he whispered to himself, his voice shaky. The words of the Voice echoed in his mind, reminding him of his choices and the heavy responsibility that lay on his shoulders.
He remembered the Voice's offer: to continue leveling up through the Illumina system or to break free and become the God of Destruction.
But how could he trust anyone? The goddess of light had deceived him, and even the Voice admitted to being beyond full trust.
A wave of self-doubt washed over him. His body felt tense, and he clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white. "How can I trust anyone?" he thought. "How do I know what's true? What if I'm just being used again?"
He stood up slowly, brushing the dirt off his clothes. His body showed his inner turmoil - his shoulders were slumped, and his movements were hesitant.
He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "I need to find a way to break free from this cycle," he resolved, his voice growing a bit stronger. "I need to understand the true power within me and use it wisely."
Sasaki knew that the path ahead would be difficult. He would have to navigate a world filled with deceit and danger, where the lines between good and evil were blurred.
But he also knew that he couldn't give up. He had to find a way to reshape his fate and, perhaps, the fate of the world itself.
"What's the point of thinking about this? I can't change anything yet," Sasaki muttered to himself.
"This realization of being just a pebble in the ocean… I feel so small."
"Even having power is nothing in this world," he continued, his voice tinged with a mix of frustration and resignation.
He raised his arm and spread his fingers, peering through them at the roof above. He felt the weight of his thoughts pressing down on him, making him feel insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
Suddenly, the cries of the hobgoblin infants reached his ears, pulling him back to the present. The urgent, plaintive sounds cut through his introspection. Sasaki snapped out of his deep thoughts, his eyes widening in realization.
"No, I can't get lost in this right now," he said firmly.
