Sasaki's mind raced, trying to piece together the puzzle. "The One System," he whispered to himself, the realization dawning on him.
"Yes," the unknown voice confirmed.
The darkness seemed to close in tighter around him, the voice's presence growing more oppressive. Sasaki took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. "Why am I here? What do you want from me?" he asked, trying to sound more confident than he felt.
"You ask why you are here?" the voice intoned, its regal presence filling the darkness.
"But you never asked that question when you were reincarnated into that world," it continued, a hint of reproach in its tone. "Why not?"
"Why were you given this power to destroy everything?" the voice demanded. "You enjoyed killing everyone in your path, lost in your thirst for power, in your desire to level up."
"You lost your original self," the voice said, its words echoing with a sorrowful weight. "But now, when you are utterly helpless, you seem desperate and start asking the right questions."
"You know you cannot win," it stated firmly.
The unknown voice chuckled, a sound that resonated with an eerie, omnipresent authority. "Funny, you said you would become a god, destroy everything, and kill the one responsible for reincarnating you into that hell."
"Remember? I was listening," the voice said. "Do you think you can kill those responsible for your reincarnation?"
"Do you truly believe you can overcome those who gave you power?" it asked, the darkness around him growing heavier. "In the face of me, you cannot even move. Your arrogance knows no bounds."
As Sasaki listened to 'The One,' panic and fear began to engulf him. The weight of the voice's words pressed down on him, making him feel the truth in every statement. The reality of his situation hit him like a tidal wave. He realized how foolish he had been to vow to destroy the very entity that had reincarnated him into this new world. The arrogance and folly of his idea struck him deeply.
The thought that those who had given him power could take it away at any moment filled him with dread. The system that had granted him immense abilities could just as easily strip them away if he posed a threat. Sasaki felt a cold shiver run down his spine as he acknowledged this harsh truth.
Reflecting on his past actions, Sasaki saw how his greed had corrupted him. The desire for power, the relentless drive to level up, had clouded his judgment.
His fear of surviving in the new world had pushed him to extreme measures, leading him down a dark path. He remembered every kill, every life he had taken, and the joy he had felt in growing stronger. Now, that joy seemed hollow, replaced by a deep sense of regret and self-reproach.
Sasaki's eyes widened with realization. His reckless pursuit of strength had not only cost him his humanity but had also placed him at the mercy of the very beings he had sought to defy.
The fear of losing everything he had gained, the terror of being left powerless, consumed him. He felt his heart race, and a cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
"How could I have been so blind?" Sasaki whispered to himself, his voice trembling. "What have I done?"
The panic within him grew, but so did a painful awareness. He understood now that his actions had been driven by fear and greed.
The voice had exposed his deepest vulnerabilities, forcing him to confront the consequences of his choices. And in that dark, oppressive void, Sasaki began to grasp the enormity of his folly.
"But what should I do now?" Sasaki's voice wavered, a mix of confusion and desperation.
"What I did was to survive in an unknown world," he continued, trying to justify his actions. "If I hadn't killed him, I would have been killed. It was either kill or be killed."
The voice responded, calm and authoritative, "Indeed, you did what you had to do in order to survive, but your goal was unclear."
"You sought power to destroy the one who reincarnated you into this world," the voice continued, its presence overwhelming. "Your motive was not to fix the world, a world corrupted by the system, but you accepted it."
Sasaki listened, feeling the weight of each word. Sasaki's heart pounded as the voice spoke. The words cut deep, exposing his true intentions.
"And you, foolish human, think you can destroy it with the very same system," the voice echoed, each word striking deep into Sasaki's soul.
Sasaki's heart pounded as the voice spoke. The words cut deep, exposing his true intentions.
Sasaki felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead, the weight of the voice's words crushing him. He realized his folly, his arrogance.
The panic within him grew as he understood the enormity of his mistake. His heart raced, and a sense of dread consumed him. Every word the voice spoke was a painful truth, forcing him to confront the consequences of his actions and the misguided path he had taken.
"What should I do?" Sasaki whispered, his voice barely audible, a mixture of fear and desperation.
"You are already doing it; you met me because of it," the voice began, calm and powerful. "I set two conditions for you to gain true power, not the false power that can be taken away at any moment."
"True power cannot be revoked, even by me, because it would go against the laws I set for this world," the voice continued. "The power given by this world's system can be revoked by its creators if you defy them."
"The first condition was to not depend on the system to gain skills," the voice said. "The second condition was to not become a part of the system."
"You met both these hidden conditions. Remember when you obtained the 'Magic Decode' skill?" the voice asked. "And when you realized you had become part of a rat race, using the system to kill and gain experience points?"
