Chapter 1 - [Chapter 1 - A New Life]

A small figure stood outside a large, segmented building surrounded by dull, green rusting gates topped with spikes that guarded it like a graveyard; except, in the stead of once moving people, there were young teens buzzing around as the essence of life radiated out, almost forcing you to smile just by taking a glance at this concentration of beautiful and pristine nobilities and, by extention, lesser well off individuals as well.

Almost.

"Detestable, really. Do I seriously have to go here? I doubt I would really learn anything useful."

The young man airing out his spite glanced at an aged man beside him in a cobalt blue suit, with visible grey hairs forming at the base of his scraggly black bread and trimmed hair.

"What do you think people do here, exactly, Tre? I thought you had no interest in the common lives of people your age?"

The young man kicked the ground, shooting dirt up in a sign of protest, dirtying his new white shoes with grains of brown earth.

"I'm not dumb, do you think I don't know what kids do at school? They learn about useless stuff like.. how to write elequently and all that, as well as how to sit properly. You really think I need to learn stuff like that?"

The old man looked at the gloomy boy, with an almost dumbfounded expression, but managed to hang on to his composure.

"Tre.. no. Simply put, there's more to life than just fighting. You can make friends your age, and live without having to worry about basic needs. I pulled you out of that place to show you the world beyond your view, a world that should be normal for a kid like you. That vile place is behind us for now. Come on, you came this far. Just make the last step and experience what should have been normal for you. Acutally, I wont take no for an answer. You're not going back, so all there is to go is forward."

The young man shot the old fool a sharp look, before loosening up. He donned an expression that seemed like that at which a mad dog would wear, but was actually that of.. sadness.

"..Alright, fine. I- thank you. Thank you for helping me this far, geezer. I won't forget this."

"Don't mention it kiddo. Go already, you're gonna be late."

Tre still didn't enjoy the idea of talking to a bunch of rambunctious teens, much less living with them for the next few years in dorms on the campus, but to be honest, he didn't want to go back to fighting for his life every day in the trenches of a war he didn't even want to be apart of. After meeting old man Lloyd in that desert, the man vowed to take the forsakened child in front of him to a better life. Those people higher up weren't fond of that, really putting the boy to work. After years of that, here he was. Ready for.. whatever was about to happen.

He slinked his hands into the warm pockets of his black trousers, loosing the fibres on his black shirt, as he walked forward indifferently. Taking one last look at the old geezer, he was waving his hand like a senile fool, his pearly white teeth laid bare, stretching from both sides of his face. Tre waved discretely back before turning to face the slightly weathered grey stone that forms the school known as 'Greenwall's #1 etiquette school'. What a dumb title, what's there to boast about?

The loud bells shot through the air, piercing the ears of anyone who was in atleast a 3 mile radius, announcing the start of the school year. And so, Tre's school life, has begun.
