Chapter 3 - 3. Midgard kingdom

"Alright kid. I'll guide you towards the human kingdom, but after we get out of the forest you're on your own." Leonard, the old sage said and he brought out a small wooden case which was beside him.

"But before we go, take this. It should help you on your journey."

Julius looked within the box to see a small circular object which was transparent and the information popped up in front of him on a transparent golden screen.

[Item - Celestial Lens]

[Grade - Divine]

[Once rumored to be the all seeing eye of a God. It reveals things hidden from plain sight.

The night shall no longer be your enemy, and the darkness shall now be your ally.]

'Woah. This... This is great! Now my journey can be easier.' Julius thought with a smile and he thanked the sage before putting the lens on his left eye.

Leonard, a sage of the humans, was the teacher of the MC. His power can even stand toe to toe with that of the six kings and it was by chance that they met and the old man took a liking to the MC.

"Thank you," Julius bowed like a gentleman and the man smiled at him.

"Alright, alright let's go," the man said as he stood up.

He was shirtless with only pants and a cape appeared on his shoulder. He pointed his hand towards the water and as if the space twisted, a boat came out of thin air.

"Woah! Is that a magic storage item?" Julius asked, looking at the ring on the man's hand.

"Huhu... As the king's son, youre supposed to get one of these. But you've not awakened your magic yet." The old man said and then he got on the boat along with Julius.

...

The forest around the river which they sailed on was filled with lingering presences. Julius could see outlines of fearsome beasts who stayed back while growling, as if they were scared to attack.

Julius was glad that the sage could escort him, if not he could've died in this very boat.

...

It took more than an hour until the boat came to a halt and the old man got off and carried Julius.

"Huh?" Julius was still in a daze when he suddenly found himself in front of a straight path that led to the kingdom gates.

"Alright boy, move on." Leonard said and Julius looked back at him.

"How would I find you again?" He asked as he held the man's cape and Leonard patted his head.

"Don't worry boy. I'll come find you when the time is right," Leonard said and he walked back into the forest.

Seeing how he was all alone in the middle of a road, Julius quickened his pace and made his way back to the kingdom.

'Midgard kingdom huh?' Julius looked at the place that was far away.

This place is to be the main stage of the story. A place where a lot of catastrophic things will happen.

'Luckily I'm in the early stages of the novel. I only have to wait till I can go to the academy before I'll be able to change anything,' Julius thought hastening his pace towards the gates.

...

In front of the large gates of midgard, men clad in silver armour were guarding the gates.

There were guards on the wall above the gates and some of them noticed an approachinh figure.

"There's something approaching!" One of the guards shouted out loud and the ones below nodded to each other.

Three guards came out and walked forward towards Julius who was already tired and about to collapse.

"F–fifth prince? It's the fifth prince!" One of the guards shouted and at that moment, Julius knelt down on the ground and began to crawl on his knees.

'This body, even with my weak body in my past life, I won't get tired from trekking such a distance.' He thought.

Maybe it could be due to the fact that he hasn't eaten for a whole day.

The last thing he saw was guards surrounding him and the male guard in front caught him and carried him back to the kingdom.

...

Julius opened his eyes to see a white ceiling. He turned his head and observed his surroundings.

'Looks like I'm in the castle,' He sighed with a thought.

The room was a bit big for a child. The bed was large and the walls were painted in bright colors of blue and white which represented the royal family.

He stood up and looked outside. Seeing the dark skies covered in eerie looking clouds he shook his head.

Thousands of years ago there was a curse placed upon this world, as punishment for going against the gods.

Eternal night - The curse of darkness.

Even monsters were empowered causing a huge state of crisis during that time. Over the years magic has been refined, but even till this day, the monsters are still a threat to the races of this world.

Not just that, but creatures from another world began to storm this world through what the humans call gates. Knights and mages venture into these gates to destroy it from the inside, only then can it close. These people were known as Gladiators.

Plus, the Gladiators are rewarded by the world will, making raiding gates a profession now.

Even with the powerful people of this world Julius still began to wonder how fucked this beautiful world was. Seeing so many people wearing medieval style clothing in the city below, it was further engraved in his mind that he was in a new world.

'What's the point of me being here? Even if I can grow powerful, I wouldn't be a match for the final villain. Hell, even the MC Couldn't do shit!! If only I could stop repel the aether...' Julius fell into deep thought. And then it clicked...

'That's right. I think I know what to get from the Treasury now. With that, I can get the item which will let me repel the Aether.' He smiled and continued to watch the bright and dazzling city below.
