Chapter 9 - 9. The power of a Seeker

The trio rested in the room and Julius brought out a book from his storage ring. It has a blank cover and he began to scribble things.

'I believe this part of the novel went like this.'

That's right, even after one year, he still hadn't written everything he remember from the original novel, it wasn't a small novel, with more than 700 chapters.

He gazed outside the window as he began to hear a loud bell ringing sound and he saw everyone there running into their houses.

He looked out and in the distance of the city, he saw three humanoid creatures. Standing 30 feet tall, with green skin. Their eyes were a shade of yellow and they held large tree branches in their hands. They licked their lips as they headed towards the location.

Julius looked at Ray and Ray sighed as he looked back at the prince.

"I'll be back shortly, your highness," Ray said with a bow and he grabbed his longsword which was in a blueish scabbard.

The people in the bar quietly looked out the window and even the gladiator that the people expected to do something was terrified.

The reason was simple, orcs are not your everyday monster, this required a group of extremely skilled warriors to kill even one, and there were three of them.

Ray left the Inn and then he walked towards the entrance of the small city and went towards them.

Although orcs were high ranking creatures, in romt of Ray, they were weak.

The ground shook with every step the giant orcs took and soon they saw the small human in front of them holding a sword, walking towards them calmly.

A line of flame suddenly was drawn a few metres away from the village and the orcs stopped as they observed.

"Stupid human, die!!! Be food!!!" One of them shouted and swung a huge branch of tree in his hand towards Ray and he glanced at it.

Before it even touched Ray, the branch shattered into more than a hundred pieces and Julius opened his eyes wide from the window he was watching.

Throughout his entire year of staying here, he has been leading about Aura and how to apply it in fights. He was only allowed to train with Ray and Ray, holding back more than 95% of his total aura power was still a tough opponent.

It may seem like magic but this was a technique called thousand fold strike.

Whereby the user strikes one thousand times in one slash, it may seem impossible but it was done with the help of magic.

Julius clenched his fists as he got excited to see what was going to happen next.

"Argh! Stupid food!!" An orc shouted and came forward to step on Ray but he sighed and instantly moved only an inch away from the foot which seemed cool and he jumped up and spun around with his sword, the Orcs head all sliced up and Julius was in awe.

Blood spurted from their necks and their bodies fell on the ground.

The knight who the one axe Gladiator offended yesterday took care of the orcs like it was nothing. Julius was feeling excited as he saw this, he was like a child getting excited over candy.

He wanted to see that move again, he wanted to learn it, he wanted to perform it.

As a genius in his past life, he wanted to learn how Ray did it.

'This is the power of a grandmaster magic swordsman. And this isn't even his full power!!' Julius was astonished but he strengtened his resolve and calmed down.

Even if the power seemed cool, he knew how hard it was to attain power in this world. He knew of the arduous training required to attain such accuracy and power when battling.

At least that's what he read in the novel. He has been practicing with a sword with Ray for the past year and what they focused on was his reflexes and defence.

At his current level, he is better than most of his peers and even his sister who will be a monstrous figure in the future will be defeated by him now.

Ray was like an untouchable force, the orcs couldn't even land a single hit on him and with only one attack, he cleaved the head off of all three of them... That was not something that can be easily done.

'Looking at how powerful Ray is, he is just a level 9 Master seeker. He might even grow to reach the level of a Grandmaster.' Julius thought.

Seekers were hybrid users of both magic and Aura, like Ray. They are said to be able to use both fluently and most of the powerful people in this world are Seekers.

Even that main character.

'I have to get stronger if I want to survive.' Julius steeled his resolve and then he sat down on the bed and entered a meditative pose.

'Ray said that Aura was the manifestation of my will to wield my weapon,' Julius thought and then he looked through the storage ring and brought out a short sword in a scabbard.

It has a black handle and a silver guard and the sheath had various complex designs, truly befitting of the royal family.

He pulled the sword out and then he focused his will into his sword.

Alexa watched him silently as he sat down and began to focus on his sword.

'The prince is working so hard...' She smiled as a particular memory flashed before her eyes seeing herself playing in a beautiful garden.

'Maybe if I was just as hardworking, I would've been just like my siblings.'

Alexa shook her head as she broke out of her thoughts and then she watched the prince.

'Its good that he's working hard but one usually awakens their aura at age ten. Well, it's not my...' Alexa's eyes widened as she saw a tranparent golden hue cover the short sword in Julius's hand and she was in shock.

'What the... that's aura!!! But he's just a kid,' Alexa couldn't help but look out the window for Ray but he wasn't outside.

Looking at the aura go bright and then low, she noticed that it was unstable and she smiled.

"Seems like the prince will turn out a genius just like his siblings."
