King Drafus had three wives and seven children in total. He was the child of his third wife and currently the second child of said wife.
He looked around the table and couldn't see his mother, and he sighed. He could see three boys who looked identical, with red hair and green eyes. One of them caught Julius's eyes and frowned, and Julius only smiled before continuing his food.
Right now, the siblings he actually wanted to consider were his younger sister, Anna... and Caster.
Beside his father, there was a boy who seemed similar in age to Anna, and he had black hair and blue eyes, just like her.
'Hm?' Julius looked around and noticed that the three wives weren't present, and he sighed as he really felt nervous about going to see his mum in this world.
From the memories he inherited from Julius, his mum was a very caring human. He didn't know how she would take the news if she found out her son died.
'Let's not bother about that for now,' he thought as he looked at the sibling in front of him on the other side of the table.
'Sasha, my sister... and the female lead of this story,' Julius smiled as he looked at her long, flowy green hair and the same purple eyes as him.
Because Julius died early on in the novel, he never read anything about the female lead having a brother. But now he's that brother...
'At least we're close. I didn't have a sister in my past life,' he thought with a smile, and Caster gazed at him from the other side of the table.
Caster looked at Anna, who ate calmly beside Julius, and he took a deep breath and continued eating.
...
The dinner went well, and Julius went downstairs to the courtyard. He saw his sister there playing with a bunny, and he called out to her.
"Hey, Sasha."
The little girl turned around, then frowned as she saw Julius and turned away from him with a pout. She looked really cute in her white gown.
"Mum was very worried that you ran away. You left me by myself," Sasha complained, and Julius couldn't help but find her cute at this moment.
Sasha, the spear-woman of wonder. He couldn't believe how this cute girl would become one of the most powerful warriors of this world in the next twelve years.
He patted her head with a smile.
"I'm sorry for running away, my dear sister. How about we play with the bunnies?" Julius said, and then she groaned.
"Fine!" She walked ahead of him, and he followed behind.
They started playing in the garden, and soon Sasha began to smile at him more, and they played together.
From a window, Caster looked down at Julius from his room floor, then he looked back to see a knight in black, fitted armor in front of him.
"I really wonder how he survived that. I'm still looking out for the triplets. I'll see if I can take care of them before I go back to the academy," Caster said, and he looked at the knight in front of him.
The knight had black hair and his brown eyes closed as he took a deep breath. Obviously, he was not comfortable with the fact that the king's children were already planning on killing each other.
...
Sasha was currently seven years old and had awakened since she was six. She had taken lessons on magic ever since, and now she was already getting qualified to go to Midgard Academy when she's 14.
'I still have to wait one year. If I haven't awakened by then, I'll have to find other means to awaken my magic.
Of course, I could master aura, which knights use, but I know the path to take, to be the strong,' Julius thought, and he sighed as he thought that the next year was going to be long.
'I should probably note down every important detail I remember from the novel before I forget,' he thought and made his way to his room.
...
Throughout the next year, Julius studied the world even more. He urged Ray to teach him swordsmanship, and he was diligent with it.
This year, he didn't have much to do except study, train, and write down what happened in the novel in a diary.
Everything was written down.
Soon, he was already eight years old... His one-year timeline to awaken magic was gone.
Julius sat in his room as he began to plan his next step from here on.
'Seems like I can't control magic. Dad would probably be disappointed. Well, at least they got one less contender for the throne,' Julius thought as he stretched.
Magic in this world was something that not everyone was born for. However, if he could get just a bit of mana inside him, with some specific items, he could awaken his magic.
*Knock knock*
Julius turned to his door, and before he could say anything, the door opened, and Sasha walked in with a sad face.
"Brother, are you okay?" she asked as she came to sit by his side.
"Are you here to make fun of your brother, eh, sis?" Julius asked as he looked at her with a smile, and she shook her head.
"Mum said it doesn't matter if you have magic or not. You can still make Dad proud," she said and clenched her fists.
"Well, expect me to be going to the academy with you," Julius said with a grin, and Sasha furrowed her brows.
"That's not possible. You don't have magic," Sasha raised a brow at Julius, but he only shrugged.
"Maybe a miracle will happen."
*Clak*
Julius and Sasha looked towards the door to see that their mother stepped in.
She had beautiful long hair, wearing a white battle attire with a white fur coat. Her purple eyes radiated her love for her children, and she came and sat beside them. Their mother had quite the body, with pronounced curves, and a flat stomach. Julius could see why his father liked her.
"How are my babies doing?"
If one were to see Margaret, their mum, for the first time, they wouldn't believe that she was this caring, as she always had a cold face as he remembered in the novel.
