"The school of what?" Dharen mumbled aloud as he regained the last of his senses.
The man though just smiled and answered him normally showing not even the tiniest bit of annoyance at having to repeat the words that he had just said.
"The school of warfare and tactics."
Dharen just looked at him as confused as he had the first time that he had heard the man's voice. The man just shook his head as he looked at Dharen. "Your talent, or better known as an in-born trait, is that of the tactician. So as a special admission your course has been chosen for you based on the talent that you possess."
Slowly Dharen nodded his head, remembering from when the system first appeared before him, showing that tactician as the man said was his in-born trait. Though he still did not know what that really meant, but still he probably would find that out soon enough he assumed.
"For some more information, as a special admission your course is chosen for you, as well as that you will not have to pay for any tuition fee, or that for your boarding, food and materials that you will need to have."
Dharen just nodded his head as he followed the man who had begun to walk through a compound that he did not recognise at all, it was only then that he realised that he had excited the tower in a different place than that he had entered it from.
"How is that possible?" He mumbled to himself.
The robed man just smiled and replied even though he was not asked the question directly.
"The tower, it is old, as old as the academy itself. There is one like it, at all of the bridge ways that serve as the entrances to the Isle that the academy is built on, inside is a magic that well honestly, we do not know of what kind. But it identifies who you are as well as if you have any kind of talent. A great help that is for sure. It's how I know your name, not that you had asked me yet."
Listening to him, Dharen had given up at this point on questioning him, although it seemed as though this spell was not strong enough to use his actual name, not that he had been able to say it to another soul since he had arrived here.
"So what can you tell me about the academy?"
The man smiled a little more at those words, "Well first off I am Professor Adrian, a member of the school that you will be joining. I will be teaching you military history. But the academy is nice enough, it was built during the later stages of the crusade as the Second Imperium was being established. Dragon-Kin are rare here but well, there are a few in the school, though they come from the plateau region to the west, not from the east like you."
His words reassured Dharen a bit that he would not always be pointed out to be one of the Dragon-Kin as the professor had taken to calling him still but, it did not seem like there were many in this academy as he had been told, aside from that the plateau region he had mentioned also was promising for Dharen.
"Aside from them, your dorm room will be shared with another person. To be honest it is just like any normal school that you should have at least attended or so I hope?" Dharen nodded his head at this, leading the professor to finish his explanation.
"What else is there…Oh yes. Your course. The year is divided into two separate semesters, with two major exams per semester for which you need to do well in or risk expulsion. The course for the first semester is easy enough, military history, military organisation and the last theory class is optional for which you will choose later on. Your physical classes are basic weapon skills, alongside one called combat fitness."
Hearing the line up of the courses that he would be forced to take and study, Dharen could shudder. He could see it now that he would be forced back to a battlefield. The thought terrified him but for now at least and the coming years, he would be here where it would be safe, and with the risk of expulsion he assured himself he would become the top student so that would never ever happen to him.
The two then got onto a carriage which suddenly began to move forwards. Adrian, the professor caught his eye and before Dharen had the chance to ask him any questions he began to speak once more.
"The main grounds of the academy are at the centre of the Isle, which is where we are going to finalise your admission. You will try to meet the dean in charge of the school there as well, assuming that we have enough time to do so. Then we'll head to the grounds of the school itself. It is more militarised but you will have it easy for the first few weeks before we begin to come down hard on you. The first month of this semester you have missed, but your talent will allow you to catch up soon enough."
Dharen, unable to even talk and ask any questions, just nodded his head. This professor for some reason had made it seem like he could read his mind, but the process felt normal for Dharen, he remembered that universities and colleges back on Earth had a similar process. The process itself made him feel more at ease than he thought it would have made him feel.
Looking out of the window, he only saw flat grasslands for the most part, as well as some gentle rolling hills in the distance. The entire place seemed to be so peaceful and calm.
Dharen inside, finally felt like he could relax here. At least for now it seemed like no one would come knocking and try to kill him, and as he glanced up he saw the arrow fade away. This did not surprise him much, it was only meant to lead him to where he would survive and that it had done.
Clearly, this meant he would be on his own now, it reminded him of video games and their tutorial period, which for him was done now.
He was alone, in this new and vast world.
