I sat across from Barker at the station, a sense of déjà vu washing over me. It was like I was reliving the nightmare all over again - the same cold interrogation room, the same accusatory gaze. But this time, I was determined to fight back.

"Where were you last night, Chloe?" Barker asked, his voice firm but detached.

I met his gaze head-on. "I was out with my kids, Lisa and Bobby. We went to a movie."

He raised an eyebrow. "Can anyone confirm that?"

I nodded. "The ticket vendor at the theater...my kids themselves. They'll vouch for me."

Ned scribbled some notes on his pad. "And what about the earring? How did it end up at the crime scene?"

I leaned forward, my voice steady. "How the hell should I know? Someone's trying to frame me. It happened before, with Joan's murder. And it's happening again."

Barker's brown eyes remained skeptical. "That's quite a convenient story, Chloe. But I need concrete evidence, not just claims."
