Everyone held their breath at Amelia's revelation.
A tear rolled down her cheeks as she blew on her face, acting as if she was forcing back the tears. For a minute, I was almost convinced that was exactly her plight but when I turned to the audience again, I saw the corners of my uncle's mouth drawn into a smirk as our gaze met. This was probably in their scheming.
"I'm – I'm" she hiccupped blowing on her face while exhaling loudly and it didn't help that the tears wouldn't stop coming. "I'm so sorry," she finally muttered producing an awkward laugh "I probably sound like a broken record, crying in court and all but it's one of the saddest memories I don't want to talk about but here we go!"
