I ended the call, my knuckles turning white on the steering wheel. Amelia looked at me, her face had turned pale in the dim light of the car.
"We need to raincheck," I said, already changing course towards the hospital. "Is it okay if I drop you off somewhere, there's a place I need to be, Family emergency,".
