Allan opened his eyes and he could see the world of Parallel Online. Next to him he found Sheila.
"We're back here. It's much simpler life here right?" Allan greeted her.
"Yeah, this world now is much simpler, we're not under anyone's threat." Sheila sighed.
"There is no use thinking about it like that. We're only like this because of what I found. Besides, we're not safe either since we can't let other people know our secrets."
"Yeah, but for some reason I have been having it easy in this reality. I wish it was this simple over there as well. We still don't know the true purpose of this game outside and knowing that something will happen beforehand has kind of weight to it. In here I can't feel this weight."
"Are you sad about what happened today, about the decisions we had to take?"
"A little. It makes me feel like a criminal. I don't like feeling like that. I always did everything right before."
"I feel you. But the order of the world we know is about to change, you know that. So perhaps you won't be a criminal even if we repeat the same acts from today in the future."
"But don't you think slavery is a bit too much?"
"Tell me, these people were bound to die the moment they wanted to kill us. If we were weaker, it would've been us. Instead, we gave them one opportunity to rise in life and to become something that they've always wanted. Do you think they don't want it?"
"When you put it that way, it kind of makes sense. We are not abusing our authority and demanding the impossible from them either. I know that. But it feels weird to have slaves you know."
"Besides, in tomorrow operation, can I be left out? I don't want to kill yet, I don't think I'm ready."
"Of course, don't worry about it. But there will be a limit to how much we can afford to be this easygoing. You know that right?"
"Yeah, when the world turn to chaos. Do you think it'll happen?"
"Something will happen, that's for sure. The introduction of cultivation in the lives of commoners isn't something that can't be overlooked. I think a bigger force is trying to use us for some reason and being a cultivator is kind of a prerequisite. But only being a cultivator won't suffice. That's why they made the console somewhat expensive. I think that is for filter people with some abilities. After all, it's not easy to cough up the price of these consoles."
"It seems you've been thinking about this a lot." Sheila sighed.
"Of course. Ever since I learned that cultivation can be applied in real life, I've been taking this too serious. I don't want my future to be in the hands of others and only strength can change that. But thinking about it, we've been quite lucky. We got to know about stuff way earlier than the average population. That will put us even further ahead of others. So we have to make it count."
"Let's hunt monsters for now. All this talk is kind of making me sad. I liked when we played games for fun."
"Sorry if it's like this. But we can still have fun. Isn't it fun when you have an OP sword that can slice monsters like if they were made of butter?" Allan chuckled.
"Actually it's very fun. It feels like I'm cheating. Haha." Sheila smiled a little. "How do you think Jasper is faring. I know he met Sasha but is he safe?"
"I know they are. They don't have our cheat swords yet, so they are paying more attention to survival than we are. That's another reason why they're gonna take longer than us to arrive."
"Aren't you worried about Tory?"
"Not really. She doesn't seem like it. But she is very serious and can be quite fierce while playing a game. I'm pretty sure she must been having the same attitude. But I'm not gonna lie, I'm missing some alone time with her. This game has changed out schedules to much. Even know I'm actually lying right besides her, I don't feel her by my side at all."
"I know what you mean. I feel like I'm spending more time with you than with her, and it's kind of weird."
"Tell me the truth. If you were with Jasper instead of me, would you guys do it here? Haha."
"Shut up. That's not something you need to know."
"Come on, you're an adult already, there is no need to be shy." Allan chuckled. "Actually, I'm gonna be frank with you. If you were Tory I would have done it already."
"How can you think about it while we're hunting?"
"I'm just spilling nonsense to alleviate the mood."
"Can't you think of something else. I don't like talking about it with other people."
"Sure. I'll stop here. What do you wanna talk about."
"Now I don't want to talk about anything anymore. Let's hunt."
"Come on, don't be so shy."
"Now you're being annoying."
"Ok, let's talk about something else. Why do you like to cook for everyone?"
"As I told you before, I'm a little competitive. So when you guys compliment my cooking I feel like I'm better than you lot in something."
"Seriously? For competitiveness. Wow, that I didn't expect. I'll tell you something then. You're the best at gathering information. So whenever I need something that is harder to acquire I always ask you to do it. Like Joshua Biller personal phone number."
"Thank you!" She blushed on the compliment. "Let's hunt some monsters, we're wasting time talking."
"Not really, I've been meaning to talk out loud. I want to see if they are aggroed by voice."
