Allan and Tory were walking down the crowded street. Allan was carrying a gun under his coat. Luckily it was a cold day today and many people were also wearing coats and other cold clothes.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Tory asked.
"I'm sure I don't want to. But I know I need, it's kind of angering really, to be forced to do it."
"It's going to be alright, are you sure you won't miss?"
"Our senses have been increased a lot. I'm sure I won't miss at all."
"We have arrived at the building. Let's take an elevator."
"Sure, no problem."
When they arrived at the top of the building they could see almost all of the neighborhood.
"It's kind of empowering to be at the top of a building, isn't it?" Allan asked.
"It does have it's charms, but I think it comes from the achievement of conquering the skies." Tory said vaguely.
"Let's jump." Allan said. They jumped to another building top. Allan knew that the bullet trajectory would not be able to be hidden, so he was using this method to mislead the forensics. They would try to search surveillance cameras from this building and not even consider the building Allan came from since it was kind of far. But with the powers of cultivation both Allan and Tory could jump this gap without an issue.
After ten minutes of waiting in this rooftop, Allan managed to see Joshua Biller arriving from the north. He was inside a luxurious black sedan car. When the target was getting down from the car and was about to walk the entrance of the building, Allan said. "Here goes nothing."
Bang.
Allan shot the pistol and successfully managed to hit the target in the heart. Although the distance was quite far, with his heightened senses and his previous expertise with guns, Allan knew he couldn't miss.
"It's kind of sad dying without knowing why." Said Tory.
"It is. But they kind of had it coming. The way they behaved was bound to hit a wall eventually." Allan said nonchalantly.
"Why do I feel this isn't your first time doing something like this?" Asked Tory.
"You know the family I'm from right? At this point you should've expected something like this." Said Allan.
"I never really gave much thought to it. I had never crossed my head. I mean, I expected you to have delegated some attacks, but not really dirtying your hands."
"Let's leave." Said Allan. Soon they jumped back to the building they came from. "It's not a matter of dirtying my hands, but rather being forced to. Before I decided to leave the family, I used to be a sniper working under my father in the military."
"What, you were in the military, why have you never told me?"
"It's not really military, but rather a special team of the military under my father. I was his little soldier I guess. I think this is the reason he hated when I forced my way out. I think he wanted me to fulfill his soldier dreams."
"Makes sense." Tory said thoughtfully.
"But you don't seem surprised about killing and stuff." Allan said,
"Not really, My family rose to power through many methods as well. Although we never hurt innocent people, whenever we dealt with criminals we would use underhanded methods as well. I have never been part of the execution part of it but I have been present in many occasions where it was decided to kill some opposition." Tory said.
"I see. It seems we both have some baggage." Allan said. "But in a sense I'm kind of glad of my training. It made me more responsive and better at playing games. Although I didn't really learn much about martial arts, I know quite well about guns and have a good hand-eye coordination."
"So you have killed many people before?" Tory asked.
"Not really, I've been through few missions. It was always bad guys anyways, so you shouldn't worry that I'll become some evil guy. I'm kind of ruthless though, I hate when my family is threatened."
"Who is crazy to threaten your family?" Tory was puzzled. She knew how prestigious and powerful Allan family was.
"I'm talking about you, darling. Look how I took revenge for you." Allan chuckled.
"Oh. Right. I was thinking the wrong way." She blushed.
"Let's meet Keith and Sasha. This should've been the first time they killed someone. They must be kind of shocked." Said Allan.
She nodded and they continued chatting along the way. They met with Keith and Sasha in a cafe around the middle point of their location.
"So how do you feel?" Allan asked Keith.
"Am I a murderer now?" Keith asked. He was shivering and had a downcast expression.
"Don't think too much about it. Think about all the people you saved from his abuse. You're kind of a hero."
"I know, but still, taking a life was so easy. It was just pulling the trigger, how can it be so easy?"
"It won't be in the future. There are going to be formidable foes in the future." Allan said.
"Cultivators like us right?" Sasha asked.
"Indeed. How do you feel?" Allan asked her.
"To be honest I don't feel too good. I have been preparing myself for it but still, this is kind of hard to digest." Sasha said. "How are you still fine after all of this?"
"Let's say I was a soldier before this, so this is nothing new." Allan said.
Sasha eyes widened. She had never expected Allan, who had never been burly or strong to be a soldier before. "How was your first kill?" She asked after a while. She kind of wanted to understand how to get through this feeling.
