He sighed as he walked up to the checkpoint at the cities entrance. It was a long line. There seemed to be about 100-200 people waiting in line to get in.
"How troublesome…"
He pulled out his ID and skipped the line, since he was a respected guest of Xenis academy. They should let him in.
A guard stepped in front of him.
"Sir, you can't skip the line, we have our rules."
The man then looked down at his uniform and also looked at Clay's identification card.
"Oh, my apologies sir, right this way. Have a good time in Xenis city."
Clay walked past the other people in line as they started to erupt in rage. Saying things like "what makes that kid so special?" And Jacob wondered that himself, why was someone who was offered a special scholarship to the most prestigious magic academy in the world special.
He scoffed.
"I wonder."
Jacob liked acting cocky, but he remembered to be a bit down to earth and humble at times. It would get him killed if he stepped out of line, just like his past life. There a lot of people stronger than him in his school.
'I can't just use magic to my advantage. I can use my sword techniques. Get some cheap hits in. That's how you survive.' he thought to himself as he continued to walk. The streets were bustling, the markets were selling magic shards and stones, weapons, armor, and utilities. For a magic users core to get stronger, they would need to absorb shards of light. Shards of light exponentially increased magic power and flexibility in the body, if he could get some hands on them early…
'It would be extremely useful…'
He sighed as he walked through the streets. He could spot people eyeing him from the corner of his eye. People planning to scam him, take advantage of him, perhaps even kill him. Nobody in this new world had good intentions. It was a bandit ridden world, everyone was selfish and greedy.
He looked up and saw standing tall in the middle of Xenis was a giant stone structure, the star gate.
"Where have I heard that name before…star gate…"
He couldn't remember, his mind was still foggy. He had only died and risen about 8 hours ago. He rubbed his forehead and continued walking.
"Maybe when I'll get there I'll be able to get some damn rest…"
He continued walking through the dirty streets, though it was nice, it also wasn't nice at the same time. The air of sophistication about the place only came about when he walked up to the gates of Xenis academy. His hand grasped the hilt of his sword. There was just something off about this world. And he didn't trust it. And like always, his hand always rested on the hilt of his sword, it was a tic he gained in the military. He couldn't trust anyone.
He showed the guards at the gate his ID and made his way into the academy.
"Welcome, Mr.Solron."
