Chapter 12 - Dreams as Guidance

Just a few minutes after Major General Kenneth left, Rhone immediately locked the gate. But suddenly he was surprised by three robbers who forced their way in and pointed a machete at his neck.

"Don't fight if you still want to live!" shouted the man named Baron, the leader of the robbers.

Rhone suddenly remained silent for a moment and realized that he was in danger, but he also remembered Major General Kenneth's message asking him to keep guarding the house.

Rhone, who felt indebted to the kindness of Major General Kenneth's family, certainly didn't want anything to happen to his employer's family. Moreover, in the house at that time there were only Major General Kenneth's wife and two daughters who he was looking after. Of course, Rhone was worried about their safety.

With courageous determination, Rhone prayed for God's help in his heart. He decided to fight the three robbers whatever the risk.

Rhone managed to seize a machete in the hands of one of the robbers and immediately made the robbers even more violent.

Initially, Rhone's blows were able to overwhelm the robbers. But apparently, There weren't just three of them, there were 13 people standing guard outside. Instantly they all gathered and immediately surrounded Rhone and were attacked with machetes by 13 masked robbers.

Rhone continued to fight even though his body was covered in machete wounds so he was pushed back in front of the terrace of the house. He was determined to stop them from entering the house while hoping that Major General Kenneth would come home soon or the residents would come to his aid.

But it turned out that all of Major General Kenneth's neighbors were currently focused on the brawl between the young men and no one knew that the sadistic robbery was taking place at Major General Kenneth's house.

Elsewhere, after the chaos ended, Major General Kenneth headed back to his home with Albert. Major General Kenneth, who didn't realize that his house was being robbed, chatted with Albert. Both admitted that they did not know the young people who were at the riot.

Major General Kenneth still doesn't realize that the company was just an inducement that was deliberately planned by the aim of the robbers to divert the attention of Major General Kenneth and his neighbors so as not to hinder their robbery.

When he arrived at Major General Kenneth's house, he realized that something had happened to his house when he saw several masked people leaving the gate of his house and immediately getting into the car. Then the car immediately left quickly.

"Albert, look who they are!" Major General Kenneth shouted to Albert as the two of them immediately entered the yard.

The former officer was shocked when he entered the area of his house. He saw the door to his house which was open. Not far from the door was Rhone who was lying covered in blood on the floor.

Even though Rhone's body was covered in cuts from sharp weapons, it turned out he was still alive.

Major General Kenneth immediately embraced him and asked what really happened. However, Rhone only apologized because he had failed to protect Major General Kenneth's wife and two children. After that, Rhone closed his eyes forever.

After being quite shocked by Rhone's condition, he immediately went in and checked the house, which was messy and full of bloodstains everywhere. Major General Kenneth immediately went limp because he was late.

Albert, who was still there, tried to strengthen Major General Kenneth and even suggested that Major General Kenneth immediately report to the police.

Ignoring Albert's words, Major General Kenneth entered his wife's room. He screamed uncontrollably hysterically when he saw his wife and two daughters who had died horribly without clothes. He saw many scars all over the bodies of his beloved children.

Major General Kenneth screamed hysterically and continued to hug the bodies of his three children and wife. He no longer cared about his lost possessions, his wife's jewelry which had been messed up, or the money scattered on the floor which the robbers had not managed to carry away.

Major General Kenneth still couldn't believe he had been the victim of a very sadistic robbery that night. He cried while hugging his two daughters, who were soon graduating from college.

It was as if Major General Kenneth didn't want to let go of them, so the neighbors came and tried to calm him down so that he would accept the departure of his beloved family.

Major General Kenneth released his arms from the lifeless bodies of his wife and children. Major General Kenneth promised in front of the bodies of his three children and wife, that he would immediately find the culprit and would not let those bastards get away with it.

"I asked the police for help in investigating the robbery and murder of my wife and children. I want to know what kind of cruel human being would have the heart to kill my family just for money. In fact, if they ask nicely, I will give them whatever they want."

"They didn't need to rape and kill my wife and our daughters."

The air felt too hard for Viona and Jansen to breathe. Major General Kenneth's sad story truly breaks the hearts of anyone who hears it.

"Then, how does it go? Looking at you now, I can guess that you are disappointed with the performance of the Police, sir?" Jansen dared to interrupt the story, even though he had to face his boss's sharp gaze.

"You're right, young man. I was very disappointed in waiting, even for a month the police did not find a single perpetrator." A sad smile appeared on the former high-ranking officer.

"The bastards turned out to be very calculating in their plans. I don't know who was behind them being able to turn off all the CCTV in the city when my family was murdered."

'Why is life too cruel for a good person like you, Major General?' Viona said softly to herself. With great difficulty, she held back her tears so they wouldn't fall in front of her former police training trainer.

"Then why are you a fugitive in a serial murder case? You must have found out who was the mastermind behind it all, right?" Viona asked, "I'm not surprised that rich people want you caught, one of them must be someone who hates you,"

"I'm just curious how you managed to find the real culprit's brain, even though previously you said the police couldn't help you at all. But it's not surprising if you spend your money to pay for mafia services."

"You're wrong, girl." Major General Kenneth refused, "There really wasn't a single human to help me find those bastards. It was a dream…"

"Dream?" Jansen and Viona asked together.

"Yes, it was just a dream. My two daughters came to me in my dreams like real-life guidance." Major General Kenneth answered with a smile. And he started to continue the story.

***

Major General Kenneth is an ordinary person. He experienced extraordinary trauma and sadness. He feels he has done a lot of good and regularly shares it with everyone, but why can he understand such a cruel disaster?

Major General Kenneth is always haunted by feelings of guilt and often has nightmares about how sadistically the robbers killed his family.

One night, Major General Kenneth finished his evening prayer and asked God for guidance.

When he fell asleep, he suddenly dreamed that his two daughters were visiting him. They asked their father to immediately look for the cell phone behind their mother's bedroom cupboard.

Major General Kenneth woke up from his sleep and was immediately shocked because he didn't seem to be dreaming, but was visited by the spirits of his two daughters.

Major General Kenneth also looked for a cell phone behind the cupboard according to instructions from his late children. It turned out that his youngest child's cellphone was dead. Major General Kenneth immediately charged his son's cell phone battery and not long after he managed to turn on the cell phone.

Major General Kenneth cried again when he saw the sadistic actions of the robbers which were accidentally recorded on her son's hidden cell phone.

It turned out that on that fateful night at their house, the youngest kept recording a video of her mother putting money into an envelope. In fact, their father had forbidden it and made their older sister turn off her cell phone.

However, who would have thought that everyone forgot about those cell phones which still record all their moments up to that point the robbers broke into their mother's room and ruined their lives.

Major General Kenneth couldn't bear to watch the video because there he saw how cruel the robbers were and how savagely raped his two daughters, even Major General Kenneth's wife fell victim to their depraved desires. After being satisfied with desecrating Major General Kenneth's three favorite women, the robbers finished off the three of them by slitting the throats of the Major General's wife and children.
