The Unnamed stared at Dyre who was now ablaze, yet staring at the fallen angel confidently. The red orbs shifted in size as they dotted around the hood, it was almost a minute before he spoke.
"How do you have Spirit?" Dyre's smile grew even wider to that question. Spirit a power neither divine or demonic in origin. A purely mortal power, the power that allowed Dyre Lantern to be called humanities strongest, and only he was known to have.
"A gift from my grandfather." Dyre answered straightforwardly, the Unnamed tilted his head at that and then asked.
"And what are you going to do with your gift?" Dyre stopped smiling then the Unnamed asked that question. The spirit still surrounded him, like he was a living pyre.
"Do you really want to know?" He asked in a weak voice, silence the was no other questions from the Unnamed.
Spirit still blazing around Dyre stared straight into the eyes of the Unnamed and roared. "I will make the heavens fear!"
His declaration echoed throughout the arena.
Dyre stood there still eye to eye with the Unnamed, and Dyre swore he saw him smile. After that he handed Dyre a medallion.
It was full gold with silver accents; the medallion itself was made to have seven engravings each one representing a sin.
It was the symbol of being hell's champion, Dyre looked back up the Unnamed. "So, bitter that your daughter isn't in my place?"
"She will take it back soon, but I would be more worried about you. If I remember correctly, the original Dyre couldn't keep up his spirit when we first met."
Dyre gave a confused look at this statement until a great pain overcame him, and just like his rival passed out while standing.
It wasn't a second later until Lilith appeared with a worried look on her face, looking at her child.
"He's not anything serious and you know it." The Unnamed said while sighing seeing the state that the King of Pride was now in, a far cry from what she was a short two months ago.
Lilith didn't even turn around for her retort. "Same with your daughter, but your real body is with her."
The Unnamed snorted and disappeared from view and a short time later so did Lilith and her child. The audience just stood there stunned at the thought of the Failure of the Lantern's was now their champion.
…
Dyre awoke in his room feeling like he had pulled every muscle in his body with an iron spike in head. It seems that he had used [Undying Spirit] too soon, as he thought about it Lilith had entered his room.
"Hi mom." Dyre said unmoving due to the pain, Lilith slowly walked in and a chair appeared next to Dyre's bed.
" You really surprised us back there my child, using spirit in front of everyone. Truly impressive." Lilith said with a dead tone.
"I wonder why you even came to me first if you had this whole?" Lilith said putting a cold towel over his forehead, Dyre looked at Lilith, and weakly said.
"You wanted a child, and I wanted a real family." Dyre said truthfully, his mom smiled at him and his hair that was covering his eyes.
"I'm so proud of you Dyre." Lilith said smiling, tears in her eyes cupping his cheeks. Dyre weakly smiling.
…
"You care what happened to him?" Oliver asked his mother, his with a beguiled look on his face.
" I care about our image, and the fact that we can't find him at all." Amma answered her child's question while writing to some of her old friends who were good at tracking.
Owen shat at his chair, uncairing of the state that his family had come too, then he spoke.
There is a plague going around, we can blame his disappearance on that." he said, obviously uninterested in the current conversation.
"Oh yes a perfect cover, until he or someone claiming to be him appears, and now we have a media circus." she said, obviously annoyed, that she was the only one trying to do anything to protect their image of caring protectors.
"I want to know how he did it, he was not seen by any of the town guards and there hasn't been any sightings by my order. It's like he … disappeared." Owen then made a face of an epiphany and then scowled with rage.
He then quickly got out of his chair and left the hearth room, making his way in obvious fury.
Amma feeling a pit in her stomach followed after her husband wondering where he was going. And after their son rushed to join them.
Amma stood in front of her husband's office door, watching Owen fervently looking for something until he screamed.
"That thieving bastard!" he screamed, slamming his fists on his unused desk. Amma was going to ask what was going on but Owen beat her to it.
"They're gone!" Owen screamed with the same tone and volume as before. Amma confused as ever asked.
"What's missing?" seeing that his wife was confused, tried to temper his rage and cleared his throat "The atlas stones!"
Amma's face fell when she heard this, those one use relics were worth more than their entire house.
"How did he even know they were here? No, how did he know how to use them?" Amma said, biting her nails trying to think.
Oliver guessed that the atlas stones were very important, so he asked a different question.
"Well did he steal anything else?" Hearing this Owen looked around his office while Amma thought out loud, until he stood still looking at his bookshelf.
"Leave." Owen said leaving no room for debate, Oliver was going to say something but Amma grabbed him, picked him up, and ran down the hallway going back to the hearth room, leaving Owen in his office.
There was silence for a moment, then a blood curdling scream followed by a golden light that shattered all the windows and shook the foundations of the manor. And after what felt like hours of divine rage.
It stopped, And soon the two heard slow but definite steps coming closer. Hearing this Oliver drew closer into Amma's embrace.
Then the door opened, and there stood Owen and before he left. He said only one thing
"I will flay him."
