Unknowingly to max and his group they were being watched by a figure with red eyes with a mask but the more noticeable thing is his rabbit ears he saw how the black haired boy named max has black matter coming of him he used his senses to see if he is a shadow user but he didn't sensed anything so he decided to go back to his base.
