JENNY'S P.O.V
It must be really happy to feel when you have a family.
someone you can lean on when you have a problem and someone you can tell when you cry.
but I don't have that..
Hello everyone, I am Jenny Garcia, 23 years of age and lived as an independent Person.
and this is my story.
While everyone was quiet and praying inside the orphanage, they heard a child crying outside the orphanage gate, so they quickly went outside to see the crying child.
When they arrived, they saw a child who seemed to have just been born and was still unaware of the world.
Sister Mary immediately took the child and looked around, hoping that the person who left the baby was still there.
When they noticed that there was no one around, they brought the child inside.
From that day on, the child Jenny began to grow up there.
She was named based on the letter left to her by her parents.
She was loved and cared for by the nuns at the orphanage.
until she was 7 years old.
"Sister Mary, why did Julia's mother come back for her but not mine? Am I not loved by my mother?" she asked Sister Mary while being combed.
"Jenny, your parents love you,
Maybe they just didn't have the courage to raise you."
Sister Mary replied.
"But why did they put me up for adoption, sister? Don't they love me?" she asked while crying.
She saw other children being adopted and becoming part of a family, but she remained in the orphanage alone.
The next day, a couple came to the orphanage and Sister Mary greeted them.
"Good day"
the woman replied while holding her dress.
"Hello, sister, we are planning to adopt a child. Where can we proceed?"
asked a woman with a tall and curly-haired man.
They were accompanied by another tall and well-built man.
While they were talking, Jenny passed by and placed a box.
The woman noticed this and spoke to the nun.
"What is her name, sister?"
she asked with a smile.
"Jenny Garcia. She was left here when she was just a baby.
Until now, her parents have not come back for her."
Sister Mary replied while looking at Jenny.
"Dear, would you like to come with us?"
the man asked Jenny while holding her hand.
Jenny didn't say anything and just smiled.
After the conversation, they signed a contract to take Jenny.
and they took her with them as they left for Manila.
Jenny sat quietly in the car while looking out the window.
"I am Carlo and this is my wife Susan, from now on we will be your parents, we hope you will be happy and be good to us." he said with a smile while looking at the mirror in the car reflecting Jenny.
When they arrived at the couple's house, they helped her carry her belongings inside.
The house was big and spacious, clearly a wealthy family.
They introduced her to the couple's real child, Chona.
"Chona, this is Jenny, from now on treat her like your real sibling.
Do you understand, Chona?"
Carlo asked his daughter, who looked annoyed and disagreed with her father.
"I don't want to! She's not my real sibling."
Chona replied and stomped up to her room.
"Please be patient with your sister, Jenny. She's just adjusting right now.
But she will accept you and you might even become friends."
Susan, her mother, said with a smile.
Years passed, and Jenny was slowly growing up in the care of those who adopted her.
She was able to go to school, but she noticed the change in Susan's treatment towards her due to the wrong reports from her sister Chona.
So she was always scolded by Susan while Chona laughed.
Often, she couldn't attend classes because she was left at home by Carlo whenever he left for work, leaving Jenny behind.
Until she turned sixteen, that's when she realized how tough life's reality is.
One day, Jenny was already dressed to go to school when Chona suddenly blocked her path and spoke.
"You can't go in, you're too showy at school, you know. I should be the smart one, and you should just stay here cleaning the house," Chona said as she pushed Jenny.
"Mom, I need to go to school today. We have an exam," Jenny tearfully replied.
"You can't leave today, Jenny, no one will take care of things here," Susan agreed with her daughter.
Jenny just stayed silent and Chona and Susan left in the car.
She just sat down and cried.
Meanwhile, Carlo forgot his laptop, so he quickly turned the car around to go back home.
He found Jenny outside the house, sitting and crying, so he approached her and asked his daughter.
"Jenny, why are you still here? Don't you have an exam soon?" He asked in surprise.
"Yes, pa," she replied while wiping her tears.
"Where's Chona? Why did they leave you here?"
Jenny recounted everything that happened and explained everything because of the intense pain she was feeling.
Her father couldn't help but cry too because of the abuse his wife was inflicting on Jenny.
"Get up, I'll take you to your school so you can take the exam."
He took money from his wallet and gave it to Jenny. Jenny looked at Carlo in surprise because of the large amount of money he gave her.
"Hide that money, and you can use it when you need it. If you're hungry, you can buy anything with it," Carlo advised Jenny. Jenny hugged her father, Carlo, grateful for his help and treatment as a true daughter.
At the end of the year, Jenny happily graduated as Salutatorian, and her father, Carlo, was visibly thrilled. Chona, on the other hand, couldn't hide her envy on the day of their graduation.
A few days later, Jenny dressed up in the dress Carlo had given her during their graduation with Chona. She smiled as she looked in the mirror because her father had promised they would celebrate together for Jenny's special graduation. However, an unexpected phone call interrupted their plans.
