Jenny ignored her and sat at the table, drinking water. She suddenly thought of Jacob because of the events yesterday when she didn't see him outside the campus.
"Why didn't he walk out with me yesterday?" she wondered.
While waiting for transportation to school, she walked towards the waiting area. She paused and looked when she noticed a black car stopping in front of her.
The window rolled down, and she saw that it was Jacob.
"Why are you walking?"
"Oh... Jacob, I didn't realize it was you."
"Why are you walking? Get in the car; let's go together."
"Uh... I won't; a bus might come soon."
Jacob got out of the car and opened the door for Jenny.
"Get inside; let's go together."
"I'm afraid Chona might see us and get mad at me again."
"Don't worry about her."
Jenny got inside the car next to Jacob. As they entered, Jacob leaned in, surprising her.
"What...--" she started to say.
"Zip your belt for protection," he said as he helped Jenny.
She couldn't say anything and just looked out the window.
When they arrived at school, Jacob opened the car door for Jenny. Chona, who was parking her car, noticed them.
"Look at that, I see another snake this morning," observed Chona, furrowing her brow before closing the door of her car.
"Wait for me here; I'll just park the car in the parking area."
"Okay, Jacob."
When Jacob left, Chona quickly approached Jenny and pushed her.
"Wow, you look great now, killer. You're starting early this morning with your snake-like behavior."
Jenny was about to turn away when Chona spoke again.
"Hey, bastard! I'm talking to you."
Jacob arrived and interrupted Chona.
"I already told you, don't you remember?" Jacob said to Chona as he pulled Jenny inside the school.
"Oh, my! She's already stealing Jacob away from you, Chona, hehe," Jessica teased.
"Just stop it," Chona tersely replied before leaving.
While walking, Jenny paused and looked at Jacob.
"I have a question. Um... What did you tell Chona earlier? Is it connected to yesterday, because I noticed that I wasn't with you outside the campus yesterday?"
Jacob smiled and looked at Jenny, "Why? Were you looking for me?"
Jenny suddenly felt awkward and quickly walked to the room.
When they were all seated in the room, listening to their teacher, the bell rang, and the students hurriedly left.
Jenny was about to line up at the counter when Jacob suddenly pulled her and invited her to sit.
"Why?"
"Don't buy anymore; my sister sent me a take-out lunch."
"Oh, no, it's embarrassing."
"These are two, it's fine, wait, I'll just buy some drinks."
As Chona walked past them with her two friends, she whispered a snide remark towards Jenny.
"So flirtatious," Chona muttered as she sat at her table.
Jacob, carrying two Chocolate Milk teas, sat down and placed them near Jenny. When they opened the food, Jenny smiled immediately because it tasted great.
"This is really delicious. Your sister cooks so well."
"Thank you. She'll be happy to hear that."
Jenny smiled, and Chona observed them both. After they finished eating, she approached Jenny to talk.
"Jacob, why don't you go to the room first? I'll just go to the restroom."
"Ah, okay, just go ahead."
Chona quickly followed Jenny. When Jenny exited the restroom, she found Chona and her friends fixing themselves. Chona then spoke up.
