Chereads / Jacob's Insatiable Desire / Chapter 5 - Episode 5

Chapter 5 - Episode 5

Upon arriving at school, she ran because she was close to being late for her first class. When she entered the room, she found Jacob alone, listening to music.

They heard laughter and an angry voice, so they stood up and Jacob took off his headphones.

"And why are you here?" their P.E teacher, Ms. Ines, asked. She was stern and strict with all the students, maybe because of her age, which is why she didn't like being disobeyed by students.

The whole class fell silent and looked at the two, Jenny and Jacob.

"Do you think I can consider you two as late? Go out and walk around the campus, and then you should come back here after. Make sure that you can do it, or else I won't let you in my class. Go ahead now," she sternly told the two students.

"Yes, ma'am, I'm sorry," Jenny replied.

The two immediately moved and quickly ran downstairs of the building.

"Don't run, you can just walk," Jacob told Jenny before putting his headphones back on.

Jenny felt awkward because of his statement, so she let him walk ahead and followed behind. Jacob noticed this and let her be, just walking straight ahead.

"Ja...cob," she called out softly.

Jacob stopped as Jenny called him.

"I don't want to be your partner. Maybe Chona or someone else instead."

"Why?" Jacob asked briefly.

"Just because... I don't want any trouble," she replied and then walked alongside Jacob.

"I don't want to be in a group with them. Their attitudes are just too much," she said while putting on her headphones.

"Take that off," Jenny ordered with a serious expression.

"If you let your fear of people like them dominate you, they will just keep on bullying you."

Jacob put back his headphones and walked away from Jenny.

When they returned to the room, Jenny sat down and drank some water.

Bell ringing...

Jenny took her bag and headed to the locker room to store her things. When she arrived at the canteen, she lined up to buy her food, then sat at her usual spot and started eating.

She was about to have two girls sit next to her, but she overheard their conversation.

"I don't want to sit next to her. Did you hear what Chona said? She said that girl is weird and a killer. Let's sit at another table," one of the girls passing by said.

Jacob glanced at another table where he could sit, seeing Chona inviting him to her table. However, he ignored her and sat at Jenny's table. This surprised Jenny, seeing someone bold enough to eat at her usual spot. She raised her head to look at the person in front of her and saw Jacob eating seriously. She also noticed others around them looking, so she quickly finished her meal, stood up, and left.

Jacob glanced at her but remained silent.

After the lunch break, Jenny looked for a quiet spot on campus to spend her free time when their class was on break. While walking, she spotted a bench behind the building, next to the music room. She peeked in and saw that it was empty, so she entered and sat down.

"Ah, finally found a place to pass the time."

She often comes here when they have no classes and her schedule is vacant, so she doesn't have to go home.

One day, while Jacob was walking around, he heard a voice near the music room behind the building. Not hearing it clearly, he entered and found a girl holding a cellphone. Jenny was startled when she heard rustling of leaves, so she quickly turned around and both were surprised.

"You...?"

"Ja...cob?" they both said simultaneously.

Jenny immediately stood up and took her bag.

"What are you doing here, and how did you find me?" Jenny asked seriously, clearly surprised.

"I heard you singing, sorry for bothering you," she was about to turn around when Jenny spoke again.

"Where are you going?" she asked Jacob.

"Since you didn't want me around, I'll leave."

"Wait... uh, please sit down."

"Are you sure?" Jacob asked again.

"Yes."

He shifted to the seat and then spoke.

"Why don't you join the music class? Sir Vincent is looking for talented students, and your voice is great for that."

"Oh, I'm not interested in that. Those who join those are really good. I'm shy about those things, and my voice isn't that good to be called talented."

"I have a question, please don't get mad..."

She looked at Jenny and it was clear she had something serious to say.

"I overheard in the canteen earlier that they were talking about you, calling you a killer. Why do they call you that, just curious," he asked.

"Ah... is that so... well, it's because... uh... Chona, our classmate, used to be my sister..."

Jacob was surprised and puzzled.

"How did she become your sister before, and why before?" he asked, curious about what Jenny mentioned.

"She was adopted by her parents when I was young, I grew up with them, but my father, Chona's father, passed away, so they blamed me for his disappearance."

She said sadly to Jacob.

"But what happened exactly?"

"Please don't ask," she said with a smile to Jacob.

She stood up and walked away. Jacob immediately followed and walked beside her. By chance, one of Chona's friends saw them leaving the school together.

The next day,

When Jenny entered the school gate, she noticed everyone gossiping, especially when she entered their classroom. Everyone, especially Chona, looked at her sharply. She glanced at Jacob's seat, but he wasn't there yet. Chona stood up and approached her.

"Hey killer, are you flirting with Jacob?" Chona asked Jenny with a sharp tone.

"Hi... no, why would you say that?" Jenny replied in surprise.

"Hahaha, don't deny it. You're not just a killer, you're also a snake."

Chona was about to raise her hand to hit Jenny, but someone held her hand and stopped her.

Chona and Jenny both turned to see Jacob stopping her.
