Chapter 23 - T City: Joining a sect

Her father remarried to a woman, and this loser came along with her."

Yeah, go ahead. Rika calls me a 'loser' on a daily basis, so I have grown used to it.

"Wow that's harsh. You two know each other?"

Nope.

"No, but because of this loser, Rika stopped speaking to me, also don't use my first name. We are not close, womanizer."

"We can get close if that's what you want."

"Yuck, stay away from me. I really don't understand why you are so popular among the girls at school."

"So, What movie are we going to watch?"

"It's because I am rich, handsome, and a blessed."

"Wow, you are arrogant. Maybe this is why your mother left you."

They ignored me, huh.

After getting ignored by these two humans, I began to observe my surroundings. Not far from where I was sitting, I saw some people who were shouting something while wearing all white.

"Haha, you even have a sense of humor. My god, I am head over heels for you."

I got up from the bench and walked in their direction because I was bored with listening to those two pointless human conversations and I also thought I might find something interesting.

"Do you really think that wearing a fake smile will prevent you from becoming possessed? The only thing that can prevent you from becoming possessed by a demon is to find true happiness for yourself, not by wearing a fake smile."

Well, he is correct. The negative aura that these people have will not be changed simply by smiling.

The man in white continued.

"Join the 'White Moon' sect if you truly want to experience true happiness. Join the sect, worship our lord, and discover true happiness in your gloomy and depressing existence."

"How can people be happy simply by joining a group and worshiping another human?"

There was once a human woman who told me that 'the only way for the state of aura to change is through that human's emotions and actions, or by some human with the blessing to control the aura of others, which is impossible'.

Her words, the contract we made, and her brilliant white aura are all I can recall from that time. She was among the strongest and wisest human I have ever met, so I don't think she could ever be mistaken.

However, if I had not met her, I would never have believed that someone as powerful could ever exist.

In addition, she always said that 'limits are made to be broken,' so maybe there really exists someone that can control state of a human's aura.

If she had been standing next to me and we discovered that she was wrong, what look would she have made?

Maybe I should have ended my existence that day with her.

Why is it that I always think I should have died next to her—

"Young man"

"Young man. Are you listening to me?"

The middle-aged man who was giving the speech stood in front of me, his eyes closed and a odd smile on his face.

I was so engrossed in my own thoughts that I didn't remember him approaching and standing in front of me.

"Yes"

"So you understand why you should join our sect?"

"Um?"

"Our sect members will listen to your problems and assist you in resolving them. Furthermore, our headquarters has such a positive atmosphere that you will begin to forget your troubles and transform into a joyful person."

"So there's no blessed who can make you happy."

I can not ask directly about auras because humans can't see them.

"Haha, no young man, why do not you come learn more about it by joining our sect?"

So there isn't.

I was about to leave them because I had nothing else to ask, but before I could turn around, a middle-aged man stopped me and moved close to my ears, as if he wanted to whisper something.

"Listen young man, our sect can help you become a man and has many more other benefits."

He turned to face the woman who accompanied her. The woman then looked at me, smiled, and nodded her head, as if she was ready for something.

I had no idea why he was looking at her or why that woman was nodding, but what piqued my interest was that they could change the physical structure of a human body.

I really didn't mind this body but the only problems were the limitations.

I have discovered that humans have to abide by many rules up until a certain age, so becoming a fully grown man would be a wise choice. Moreover, since this is something that will be done by using a human blessing, no one will suspect me.

Wait, don't tell me it is something else, like joining them for ten years and becoming a man.

"You will make me a man today, right?"

"Yes just after you've joined our sect."
