Minutes later, a nurse entered Sheila's room with her belongings, following the request she had made to Matt.
"Here are your things, Dr. Treit. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to call us," the nurse said.
"Thank you," Sheila replied, taking her things and starting to review her personal notebook.
Looking for a blank page, she began to jot down all her symptoms in order, trying to find a pattern, a clue, something that would help her better understand the drug to think of an effective treatment.
Absorbed in her notes, she didn't notice when Sophia entered the room.
"Treit!" Sophia shouted, snapping Sheila out of her thoughts.
"Sorry, Sophia. I didn't see you," Sheila said with a small chuckle.
Sophia, despite being a bit annoyed at being ignored for several seconds, calmed down upon seeing Treit's condition, but her anger returned as she remembered all of Matt's lies.
