Sheila woke up feeling a bit better, although she still sensed a slight discomfort. As she opened her eyes, the sunlight streamed softly through the window; she realized her mind was clearer.
Despite the improvement, she still recalled the feeling of weakness and confusion that had accompanied her since the drug had been introduced into her system.
Before she could fully process her state, the door to the room opened and a group of nurses entered. Dressed in white uniforms with friendly faces, they approached her bedside.
One of them, who appeared to be the most experienced, asked how she was feeling while checking the monitors connected to her bed.
Sheila replied in a weak but firm voice:
"I feel better, but I still feel a bit weak."
The nurse nodded and smiled, assuring her that her recovery was progressing well.
After a quick check of her vital signs, Sheila mentioned that she wanted to use the bathroom.
