Chapter 24 - The Brother. [11]

Kim Yeon-Hee sat down across Oh Nam-Jun in the interrogation as she took a moment to catch her breath.

Across the wooden table was Oh Nam-Jun who had cuts on his bleeding mouth and nose from the "interrogation" He received. His hands had been freed after as he quickly jotted down the names of people, places and addresses in a shaky manner on the notebook that Yeon-Hee had placed in front of him along with a black pen after beating him up without warning.

She put away the picture of Jin-Ah in her jacket pockets and sat back in the chair.

'This is the language that they understand.'

Yeon-Hee thought as she let out sight while wiping the blood on her knuckles with a white handkerchief.

After surrendering from the barrages of attacks that left both his lips busted up alone with a broken nose, he finally revealed information on the human trafficking ring that she already knew about since it was discovered by Kim Dae-Bom at the scrapyard today.

Oh Nam-Jun quickly wrapped up his summarization and pushed the notebook forward before recoiling back into his chair from the cold gaze that Yeon-Hee gave him.

Yeon-Hee glanced at the page with the long list that had drops of blood on it before she coldly gazed at Oh Nam-Jun.

"Is this all?" She asked, pulling the notebook and closing it as Oh Nam-Jun quickly nodded multiple times in fear.

"And what they asked what happened to you?" She asked, throwing the handkerchief to Oh Nam-Jun as he replied.

"Ah… I fell and hit my face, heh heh, don't worry!"

Yeon-Hee sighed and stood up before walking to the door and leaving Oh Nam-Jun all alone in the interrogation room as he shakily started wiping the blood on the bottom of his face off with the handkerchief.

As he thought 'Again?!... Fuck!' while remembering how the exact same thing happened two years ago.

Figuring that the case was going to be ruled out as a homicide and not a serial killing, Yeon-Hee let the other members of team one and three swiftly close the case, while she now focused on the new and developing case that had resulted in a murder, kidnapping and human trafficking that resulted in a brawl at a certain scrapyard earlier today which is also why she had "interrogated" Oh Nam-Jun since he was connected to the case.

'The girl that was kidnapped is most likely going to be trafficked.' Yeon-Hee thought as she walked upstairs to the violent crimes unit office and entered.

She walked into the sight of Kang In-Hyuk and Kim Dae-Bom discussing the clues discovered at the scrapyard.

The murder case was in its final stages of being passed off as a simple murder disguised as the work of a serial killer as someone was assigned the finishing task, while the human trafficking situation which had gotten the Chief's stamp of importance that basically went like "Focus on this immediately!" was made the first priority of the violent crimes unit.

They had drawn up multiple links on the whiteboard from picture to picture of the warehouse with kidnapped women, while the rest of the members were busy checking the files received from the raid at the scrapyard.

Yeon-Hee looked around the office and caught a glance at Ryu Sun-Jae who had a patch on the corner of his right forehead along with some cuts on his nose and lips.

His arm and the back of his hand where he had gotten cut and had to get stitches as they were adequately deep.

Yeon-Hee walked and stood next to Dae-Bom as she listened to them discussing alternatives on how to find the victims about to be sold off along with the apprehension of the culprits before she tapped his shoulder with the notebook.

"Oh Nam-Jun?" Dae-Bom asked as he looked at the list of names and places on the page then at Yeon-Hee who nodded in confirmation.

'This has the names of the likely suspects that were considered… And let's just ignore the blood.' Dae-Bom thought as he covered the dried drop of blood with his thumb, knowing exactly how that red drop got there.

'Don't tell me…' Kang In-Hyuk had already noticed the spot of blood as he looked at Yeon-Hee who avoided his gaze by staring at the page before clearing her throat.

"These are the places where the girls are taken to and held separately until it's time to ship them out." Yeon-Hee said, marking the places on the map that were stuck on the whiteboard with a red marker.

"According to Oh Nam-Jun, there's a group of girls leaving tonight but he doesn't know which one of these middlemen is in charge of receiving and shipping out all the women." Yeon-Hee said before taking out a picture of Im Jin-Ah and adding, "He also said that this girl is one of the people being shipped out."

Sun-Jae looked up at her and saw the picture as he uttered "What?" before walking over and properly looking at the picture with a pale expression.

"Gather as many available cops and detectives as you can and instruct them to gather at the conference room." Kang In-Hyuk quickly ordered one of the team members as he walked over to Sun-Jae and grabbed his shoulder.

"We'll find her, okay?" He reassured Sun-Jae.

"How?" Yeon-Hee asked.

"By arresting all of them."

Fifteen minutes had passed as there were about forty seven available police members which consisted of twenty one detectives and twenty six ordinary police officers in the darkened conference room with a projector displaying a map with seven places believed to be human trafficking rings.

Kang In-Hyuk was in charge of the debriefing as he gave the gist of the situation and how much time was remaining in order to find those women before they were sent out of the country.

"Our mission is to go to these places and find these missing women before they are shipped out." He explained, showing several red circles marking the places gathered from the intel.

After assembling several groups and assigning areas to be raided, the conference room quickly became empty as the detectives went to the armoury room and equipped bullet proof vests along restocking their revolver ammo.

They entered their police vans and cars after preparation and immediately set off to their assigned raid areas with the sirens going off in the night sky.

With everyone tense on the limited window presented, the race against time had begun.
