Chereads / Solitary Vampire / Chapter 3 - System

Chapter 3 - System

After what seemed like hours Roseline started to wake up in a sleepy daze.

"God what happened?.."

Getting up from the floor Roseline saw the floor covered in some black goo.

"Ew" frightened and repulsed Roseline moved away from the black goo as she looked all over herself.

First thing she noticed was that she was sore all over and tired, second was that the book that she was trying her hardest to open finally opened before but was nowhere to be seen, third there was some kind of gray almost black colored interface in front of her that had appeared out of nowhere.

"What is this?"

The interface changed in response to the question

— This is the SYSTEM, created to help and make it easier for you on your journey to power —

"Huh? It responded?"

The interface, or SYSTEM as it calls itself, changed to what looked like the main part of the interface.

'Huh 1 Star? Wait what? I thought I wasn't a awakened. Is this real? Did I hit my head too hard?'

The system responded

— Yes this is real. You had awakened after opening the ?@&"?%£# Holy book and accepting it into your body and soul, giving you the SYSTEM —

"Oh?" Roseline then waved her hand through the System, her hands going through it as if it was only in her vision.

"Huh."

"Wait it heard my thoughts? Well I guess it does. I don't wanna think too hard about it or else my head might explode."

"Daily quests? Well that seems easy I guess."

Roseline decided to get to work now and ask questions later as she somewhat figured that it worked similar to a system in games as she had heard, she thought somewhat in a daze.

"Well I should start with running I guess. Wait my shoulder…"

She looked over to her shoulder after taking her top off and saw that it was healed.

"When did this happen?"

— By awakening, the SYSTEM healed you as it counts as going to the next level and to make your body recover for any backlash that comes with going to the next level. —

"Oh so if I get to 2 Stars then I heal automatically?"

— Yes. —

"That's interesting"

She still had many questions like how the system came to be and why she and her parents had that… whatever holy book the system told her but she had something more important to focus on.

"Well I guess I should change into something more comfortable for running."

She went over to her broken closet and opened what was left of it, taking out a pair of black clothes as everything in her closet was either black, red, or white.

After changing she headed out to the nearest park around her and started running, quickly becoming tired.

"Nevermind..huw..about….easy...."

She stopped and grabbed her knees as she panted from exhausting her stamina and looked at the system's daily quest seeing only 1km/5km was done.

"Oh well. No pain, no gain." She said while crying in the inside.

….

At the city in which Roseline residented, a vehicle that looked like a armored bus passed by heading to the next person to pick up to send to the military school that she was going to go to with many others.

The bus took a swift right turn as it got to the apartment complex that Roseline lived in.

Someone got out of the bus wearing a military uniform and went up to Roseline's apartment knocking on the door.

Soon enough someone answered the door and opened it.

Roseline, looking haggard and tired from running and got back after finishing the quest, looked up and saw the military officer.

"You are to go to the military bus to go to military base 3. Hurry and don't waste my time, the bus won't wait for you." They said as they left soon after.

After nodding she, as fast as she could, got ready, got her luggage if she had any, and went over to the bus sitting down next to someone quite ordinary-looking.

He had brown hair and eyes with glasses and a hunch back as if to hide away from being seen.

The boy was incredibly awkward.

She took a glance at him and turned away uninterested as she decided to take a nap to recover her stamina, feeling as if though that her lungs were going to die from not being used enough.

The ride was long and took about 2 hours and when they stopped they were in front of some writing on a metal platform in a mysterious language glowing purple, a one-use teleporter.

The military officer said "get out of the bus and stand in a line."

As everyone got out the officer checked everyone for trackers that could expose the location of the military base and then let everyone enter the teleporter.

Roseline and the others got teleported to the military base, what came into view was an a expansive view of the whole base.

The one-use teleporter behind them broke into pieces as if to say that they won't be leaving anytime soon.

And they won't with them not knowing where they are as the military bases locations were hidden from the public, well except for military base 5, but that base is mainly for tourism.

"EVERYONE! Get into a horizontal line and wait for further instructions!"

As they said that, all the now military students hurried to get into place in hope of making officers happy and getting a favor.
