Chereads / Solitary Vampire / Chapter 9 - Emma and Seth

Chapter 9 - Emma and Seth

Emma, having gone to Seth, quickly pushed out a punch to him while using her left arm as a shield as shown on the fifth stage of the martial art's form.

Seth saw that and went to get her right fist with his left hand and used his right to grab her wrist and hold on to it.

Seth moved his shoulders as he put weight into his arms. Emma was then pushed down a bit from the weight and Seth's sudden movement of yanking the wrist down.

Using this open opportunity, Seth went for Emma's left shoulder. Pushing her shoulder down and grabbing the right hand that came up, it showed no way for Emma to recover without using her affinity. Seth had won.

Letting go of Emma, Seth faced the rest of the class to end and dismiss it.

While Seth was doing that, Emma was standing there processing the experience and looking a bit down.

Roseline saw that, looking away to do something else as she didn't know Emma much other than them being roommates.

Lucas, who was also in the same class, went up to Emma to talk to her.

" Hey you lookin' pretty down now. You alright? It's fine even if you don't win against Mr. Fang, after all, he is one of the strongest teachers here."

Emma looked back at Lucas and turned away soon after.

" But it's just like Mr. Fang said. Strength is what matters most."

" I must become stronger." Emma said with a fiery passion and ambition in her eyes.

Leaving Lucas behind, Emma quickly walked over to the door and continued until she got to one of the training arenas around the school.

Holding a training sword, Emma made swing after swing and strike after strike, trying her best in all of them to improve.

A pool of sweat was under her after a while but she still continued. All until night came.

Seth was at his teacher office thinking back on the Core Weapons class, to be exact what he saw.

Through his eyes, he saw that all of the students had some kind of blue color covering around them except for one.

It was faint but there. A rusty purple color on one of them.

He had once seen such a purple, but at the same time it was different.

The purple in his memories was darker, with no rusting on it.

Thinking back at the student with the rusty purple aura around them, Seth couldn't help but think of some memories long ago.

The memories of swinging his sword while under the guidance of a young-looking woman that was as tall as 6'0" feet, had silver hair like liquid mercury with purple-black eyes that seemed to suck up the world's sins and a ring that was as demonic as any ring could possibly look.

The memories of gaining the Heaven-Breaking Will and wielding it against all odds. Fighting against all manner of beasts and enemies until he had won.

The memories of leaving the place he had known as home so that he could grow bigger as it was too small for him anymore.

In the teacher's office filled with paperwork and plans by the military for the students, a lone man sat unaware of the emotion showing through.

As the day in the military base ended, all of the students were around the campus doing whatever military students do.

Roseline was thinking about what to do about her System when some people came up to her and started talking.

" Hey friend! Just asking, do you know if a brown haired dude with glasses passed here?"

Roseline, looking at the students, thought that she had seen such a situation before but thought it wasn't much of her business. So she answered.

" No I haven't."

Hearing that she hadn't seen the boy they mentioned, they looked a bit frustrated and asked in a bit of a different way than they had before.

" Are you sure you haven't?"

Roseline was seeing the direction the conversation was taking and was about to respond when a hand was put on the shoulder of the guy that was talking.

The guy looked back to see who dared to put their hand on him but stopped as he saw who it was.

They were a male that had green hair and red eyes, taller than 5'9" foot, and had a friendly face on him.

" There's no need for that. She said she didn't know where he went so we should leave it at that."

Roseline relaxed as she didn't need to spend her time talking to these brute-heads.

" But he still has to pay.."

" Now now then, we can just find him tomorrow, that's all."

Soon after they said that though, as if Lady Luck looked down on the person they were referring too, he had quickly passed by with his head down.

" Well you look at that, he came to us on his own heh."

The gang of students soon moved to where the boy was at and soon enough surrounded him at a dark alleyway.

" Aiden, time for you to pay up bud." One of the students that was an upperclassman shown by the ID said.

" I..I-I don't have th-the points yet-"

" Then I guess you're gonna have to pay in another way…" said the green-haired man, who was clearly the boss of the group.

" Jake n-no don't I s-swear that I-I will get them.."

But it was too late as the first punch was already thrown, building up to a beat down on Aiden.

But the beat down didn't go unnoticed as Roseline was outside looking at the moon, still lost on the topic of the System.

The smell of iron and something savory went past her and got caught in her nose.

Roseline felt as if her entire being wanted to move to the smell and so she did.

Getting closer to the savory smell, she noticed the same group from before passing by her.

Getting to the place of the smell, Roseline noticed Aiden on the floor with blood coming down from the nose, knuckles, and mouth with black and blue bruises all over.

As Roseline was about to get closer she got a notification from the system.
