Synopsis
Shelby Lee was far from ordinary. Sure, she went to school, and did her work, and was a straight-A student at her school. Yes, she was a female teenager. But she wasn't like anyone her age. Shelby had been born with a superpower, one that had made her a hero in the night, one that was dangerous If she lost control. One day, a letter appeared at her doorstep, and when she opened it, she saw it was an acceptance letter from a university she hadn't applied to. The next day, she went to the school to check it out. Only to find it was a school for future heroes and possibly villains. She meets a boy named Connor. They become enemies. And her best friend, along with the university, think their dating. She proposes a truce that involves them acting like their dating. He accepts. And now the game is on. But theres a question that needs an answer. Who will fall for the other first?

Chapter 1 - 1

My name is Shelby Lee, and I'm a high-school girl, living the best life I could get out of my last school year. Or, living with what I could get, anyway. High school wasn't everything to me. The drama, the fights, the fake friends. The cheating, the teachers, most of the students. I didn't understand the point in any of it. Why cause drama? Why get into fights? Why pretend to be someone's friend? Why cheat on your loved one? Like, what's the goal here, buddy? Make everyone think your a terrible person? Because if it is, it's working. Oh-I should probably mention, I'm not a normal high schooler. You know how others my age have jobs, girlfriends or boyfriends, and all that? Well, I didn't really have a job, um....It's a bit hard to explain. I have a hidden superpower. During school, I'm a normal kid, just like everyone else. But after school is when I suit up, patrol the streets of New York, and stop any crimes from happening. So far, I didn't seem to be having any trouble. Just a bunch of small-time, and pathetic, thieves with nothing to do other than break the laws. Well, that was, until I met Connor. He changed everything. And I mean everything.
