Chapter 1 - Prologue

*Five years ago*

There are secrets that should never be revealed to humanity, secrets that should be kept hidden in the dark.

Like the existence of the creatures of the night. In this bustling city that made dreams come true, there were things that only a selected amount of people knew existed.

Late at night, they emerge from the shadows into the bright full moon that casts a glow on the earth beneath.

Their furs shining underneath the gleam of the full moon, walking majestically with their heads held up high, their eyes glowing, almost enough to trap their prey and capture them in their snare.

Deep in the forest they stay, howling under the full moon scaring off anyone that dare walk down that path.

They all gathered together for an emergency meeting that was called on by the Alpha, who's name was Lobo. With them wondering what might have been the problem and the reason they were called to this meeting.

An announcement of the Alpha's arrival was made and all the werewolves bowed to show their reverence to him, as he walked with his head held on high, his black fur shining brightly under the moonlight.

Following closely behind him was his Luna, Esmeralda, along with their son and the future Alpha of the Shadow Mystic Pack, Ansel.

They all made way to the front, and Lobo stood on a rock like platform staring down on all the wolves that he had been leading for years. The last time they had a gathering like this was years ago, and it was good news that he came to drop, which was birth of his son Ansel.

Sadly, that night there was no good news to drop, only bad news.

"For years the Mystic Shadow Pack has always been held in high regard." He began. "Everybody fears us, loathe us, wish to be us but can never achieve such a feat. We always make sure to keep to our rules and regulations, and never break them.

It has come to my notice that many of you have chosen to be rather unruly, and do as you please without heeding to the warning that has been laid out for you. Maybe it's because I am getting older, and as a result I am getting a bit calmer. But that doesn't mean the rules of the pack should be broken, and as a result I would make a fine example tonight."

"Micael!" His voice echoed through the forest, that it reverberated back to him, and shook majority of the werewolves that were standing there.

A wolf stepped out from the crowd, walking with such grace that almost rival that of the Alpha. The wolf had striking blue eyes which was rare for majority of them, cause they mostly had black, brown, or yellow eyes.

He stood in front of the Alpha without any form of fear, staring back at him with such intensity that it made everyone almost quiver in fear.

"Where were you yesterday night?" Lobo questioned.

"I was out hunting with Antonio sir." Micael answered.

Lobo turned to the crowd and asked: "is Antonio here with us right now?",

Antonio stepped outside, and stood some spaces away from where Micael was standing.

"Were you and Micael hunting the previous night?"

"Yes sir." Antonio answered.

"Did you two by any chance come across a human being the previous night?"

"Yes sir we did."

Micael looked at Antonio, wondering what exactly was he talking about.

"Did you two do anything to the human?"

"Yes sir."

"Hold on, wait a minute, what are you two talking about? Antonio we never saw any human, they barely walk around this path."

Antonio said nothing, his head hung low, his jaw clench.

"Micael, a report came that you killed a human. Antonio came to report the whole issue to us this morning."

Micael looked at Antonio who's head was still down,  his eyes planted to the grass and soil that was underneath him.

Micael removed his gaze from Antonio and faced Lobo.

"Sir, I am not someone that would break rules and tell a lie."

He wasn't lying, he is most definitely isn't one to break the rules. But there was countless evidence that were stacked against him.

"Sadly the evidence against you says otherwise."

"Evidence? What evidence?"

"We saw your paw print at the scene of the crime." Ansel said looking down at him like he was testing him.

Micael glared at Ansel then said, "I did not do it, I swear on the Moon goddess I did not do it."

Ansel came closer to him and stood before him, his wolf form being more bigger and dominant that Micael's own.

"Why don't you look me in the eye and tell me that you didn't do it?"

He looked him directly in the eye, and said: "I didn't do it."

"But you did," he looked above his head to address the crowd, "for years I have known Micael as he wasn't always the type to heed to warnings or instructions. He was the type that always feel like humans should be eaten, he even told Antonio that if he had the opportunity he would eat a human being. Isn't that right?" The question was directed to Antonio who's head was still down, as he muttered a small yes.

On hearing this, the crowd gasps. How could Micael say such a cruel thing?

"And I say again that I didn't do it," Micael stated again, this time his tone a bit higher than usual.

"Who knows what would happen next, he might develop a taste for the flesh of his own kind. Remember what happened to Dennis, how he develop an insatiable taste for werewolf blood?"

"That's enough Ansel," Lobo said, which caused Ansel to stop talking and head back to his position.

"We have all come to an agreement, Micael, You are hereby banish from the Shadow Mystic Pack."

Micael felt a shatter in his heart on hearing those words, he didn't know what to do at this point. He looked at Esmeralda to at least say something to defend him, instead she looked away. He turned and looked at the people he once considered family, surely somebody would come out and help him, instead he was met with nothing but looks of hatred in their eyes.

"No one would help you or support you Micael, the odds are stacked against you right now." Ansel snickered at him. He was trying his best not to burst out into a fit of laughter.

Micael had had enough of Ansel for the night, so in his bit of anger he launched at him. Biting Ansel's neck so hard that blood was spilling everywhere. Ansel let out a cry of pain, trying to wiggle out of his grasps but it only seem to worsen the situation for him.

Lobo jumped to remove Micael from Ansel, biting and hitting on him to get him to remove his teeth from Ansel's neck. But all to no avail.

The other wolves gathered, deciding to help their Alpha, biting and attacking Micael making sure that he let go of his grip, they all collectively injured him and chase him away from the pack while growling at him.

Micael's face was covered in Ansel's blood and plenty of injuries from the attacks from the wolves.

Micael saw Esmeralda running to attend to Ansel, a pain shot through his heart, she didn't stand up for him for the lies told against him, yet she was quick to rush to Ansel's side to assist him with his injuries.

"For this things that all of you did to me today, I promise you nothing but revenge, I swear on the Moon goddess that revenge is what you all would taste. Mark my words," he said with agony and pain behind his voice, he then turn around and limped off with the feelings shame and dejection.
