Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

Chapter 4

A low sounding growl made Maria stop in her tracks as she turn around and was face to face with a being that looked twice as bigger as her, and looked like it could kill her with one hit.

She felt a chill ran down her spine, as the wolf growled, it's teeth baring, his eyes glowing a distinct color that she wasn't familiar with.

She was grateful that she actually wore protective clothing, and she also brought her guns along with her–which was safely hidden away in her holster.

Now with a large wolf standing in front of her, her fight or flight senses were kicking. Should she run, or should she defend herself. The wolf hadn't attacked yet, it looked like it was sizing her, like it was expecting her to runaway.

Maria felt her breath hitch at the back of her throat, she tried hard to swallow the saliva that was building up.

Her fingers were crossed that the wolf won't attack her. Her hands were just placed directly above her holster, and the wolf looked at her hand placement.

Then it started charging at her, Maria was quick to bring out her gun from her holster and began firing at. However it was futile, cause the wolf was fast.

And before she knew it she saw herself running away from it, however the wolf was faster and it caught up to her quicker than usual.

She saw herself trip over something and fell to the ground, and then she tried backing away from the wolf. The wolf came closer to her.

Maria had a feeling that the wolf was very much sentient, it was like it was playing with her, like she was some sort of toy.

She had started to accept her fate that this was how she was going to died. This plan was a very stupid idea, she should have listen to Sergeant Peters, now she was on the verge of dying.

A loud howl cut through the air, and a much bigger and larger wolf, it's fur shine underneath the moonlight and its eyes a deep blue that was very mesmerizing.

It came closer to where the other wolf and Maria was, and Maria's attention went back to the other wolf and saw that it's countenance had changed.

It had a look of fear, it's ears drooping down, and suddenly it looked very small, the it ran away with its tail tucked underneath it's legs–literally.

Maria let out a breath of relief, but then again she couldn't be too careful cause there was another issue at hand.

The wolf came closer to her, and she was scared as heck, she felt like her heart couldn't take it the fear anymore.

However she suddenly felt faint, everything looked blurry. And then she passed out.

She opened her eyes and saw that she was in a different room entirely, the bed felt soft underneath her skin and she almost didn't stand up, then it occured to her that she was in a strangers room.

The room was a large room, it had a window that was directly opposite to her with the sun casting a golden glow on the room. And if the sun was shining bright that means it was morning.

She began to wonder just how long has she been out? Where was her things? And then memories of what happened the previous night came rushing through her mind.

She sat up from the bed, and she saw that she was still in her clothes. She stood from the bed and feet hit the cold hardwood floor.

She walked towards the door, her hands were on the door knob, however the door opened up and in came one of the most good looking men that she has ever in her life seen.

His height towered over hers, and he has thick black hair and very bright blue eyes, his had a muscular build and a jawline sharp enough to cut through steel.

"Oh, you are awake." His voice sounded very cheerful, as if he was waiting for her to wake up.

"Your phone has been ringing for the past couple of hours," he handed her her bag. Maria took it and checked her phone, it was miss calls from her superiors and Anna.

She knew that she was in big trouble. She let out a sigh, she would most definitely receive a query from them.

Maria looked at him wondering if by any chance he was the wolf that helped her.

"Were you the wolf that helped me the previous night?"

He looked at Maria with a smile on his face. "And how did you know that I was a werewolf?"

"Well it was just one wolf that I saw and then suddenly I appeared in this room."

"That's a very funny thing to just assume. What if the wolf was my pet?" He asked in a teasing tone.

"Why in the world would you keep a wolf as a pet?" She asked incredulously.

"Why won't I, they pretty much easy to tame." He said shrugging his shoulders.

Maria kept quiet, he had a point with that, but she still didn't want to believe what he was telling her.

"So, are you a wolf or not?"

"Yes, yes I am a werewolf. Those mythical creatures that eats the flesh of humans whenever they want," he had a smile on his face when he said this.

"So werewolves do exist," she said with a sparkle in her eyes. "Same with the one that almost eat me."

"Speaking of which, why were you deep in the woods late at night?"

"I was looking for something," she sheepishly said.

"Looking for what?" he asked leaning on the door with his arms folded, his muscles bulging out if the tight body hug that he had on.

"Like I said, I was looking for something"

"And I asked looking for what? Hmm, you do know that the forest is prohibited with the amount of death that comes from it, whatever it is that you came for isn't really worth your life. So tell me, what exactly were you looking for?"

Maria was contemplating telling him the truth, could she trust him with something of this magnitude. She looked at him, his blue eyes urging her to speak up.

Plus he did look trustworthy, maybe telling him wouldn't be a bad idea.

"I came to the forest cause, I lost someone important to me in that same forest."
