"She's okay. She just had a lot of alcohol," Doc Evans said.
Irwin sighed. "Goodness."
"You seem worried. It's unlike you, Irwin," Evans said. "The last time she was the one worried, now it's you,"
Irwin looked at Evans and sighed quietly, looking away. "It's not what you think. I've known Magnus for a while, and not only that. My mother put a trail on her. So did Charles. He knows about her, and I don't know how. Morgan said a car had followed them all day, and when he lost her, he thought she was kidnapped until she paid for her gown."
"Letting her be on her own is the best. Irwin, remember what happened the last time you got involved with a girl?"
"Not this time, Evans, not her. I don't know what came over me the moment I asked Robert to turn the car around, but ever since I did so, she's my responsibility."
"I'm just worried. You seem to have a lot on your plate. Marriage doesn't sound like the best idea right now." Evans said. Irwin looked at Eisley, lying unconscious on the bed. Suddenly, she moved, and slowly, her eyes opened.
Irwin's shoulders sagged, and he sighed in relief. Evans tapped him and proceeded to leave the room.
Irwin sat beside her, staring until her eyes opened wide. She groaned, holding her head.
"Are you okay?" He asked. Eisley's gaze pointed downwards, and she nodded.
Irwin nodded, getting up. "I'll tell Grace to prepare you something,"
Eisley hurriedly grasped his hand, and her imploring gaze shifted to his face. "I'm sorry about last night."
"It's fine, you need to rest," Irwin said, but she wouldn't still leave his hand.
"Thank you," she muttered. A loud knock interrupted, and Robert walked in.
"There's a problem," Robert said. "Henry and his men are here, I think it's about the case of last night,"
Eisley immediately lowered her gaze, letting go of his hands. Irwin nodded, and Robert walked out.
"Wash up, I won't be long," Irwin said and walked out of the room.
As he headed to the garden where they awaited him. Henry got up and rushed to shake his hands. While the other officers frowned at him. Robert, Morgan, and some other of his men stood around. He noticed a familiar face, and it was Magnus. Irwin looked away and signalled for them to leave.
"It's unexpected for you to be at my private residence," Irwin said, sitting on a wooden chair crossing his legs.
"Mr Kent," the officer in the blue shirt called. Irwin looked at him, exhaling. "We received a report from Wimbledon Club last night that there was an incident of shooting, and you were caught on camera."
"I told you Irwin doesn't own a gun anymore," Henry defended. Irwin looked at him, and he sighed, holding his hands on his waist, looking away.
"Wimbledon Club? I recognise the name. My wife— ah, my fiancee was at the club yesterday," He said, leaving them speechless, including Henry and the blue officer. "She was in some situations, and I had to borrow my bodyguard's gun."
Henry shut his eyes, completely dumbfounded. "Well, see, I told you he doesn't own a gun. His— fi— are you really getting married?"
As Irwin was about to speak, he spotted Eisley glancing around, confused. The moment she found him, she paused, but his smile told her it was okay. Henry and Frank looked back, and their mouth parted. Eisley walked closer in a yellow floral gown, her hair dancing to the rhythm of the wind.
"Hey," she whispered, slightly uncomfortable with the men staring at her.
"Are you okay now?" Irwin asked. Eisley looked at them, bowing slightly. They bowed, stunned.
"Yeah, I am, I thought you were done, I can go back inside if you want," Irwin pulled her gently to his lap, holding her.
"They would leave soon,"
Henry and Frank cleared their throat, looking at each other.
"If you don't mind, can I ask your fiancee a few questions?"
Eisley looked at Irwin, and he nodded, pecking her— it's okay.
"Were you at Wimbledon Club last night?" Frank asked. Eisley's brows furrowed as she tried to remember. She didn't bother checking the name of the club.
"I don't know Wimbledon Club, but I was at a club last night, and some men attacked me."
Frank looked at Henry, "Do you remember anything,"
"Uhm, I went there with my friends, I had a lot to drink too, but I remember there was a red sign at the entrance,"
"Do you recall any shooting?"
Eisley froze, her heart twitched, and she blinked restlessly visibly tensed until she felt Irwin's hands crane her thighs.
"Uhh, yeah, I did. But I was being saved,"
"Uhn well, you were saved, and three men got injured," Frank said, Eisley frowned.
"Excuse me?" Her voice became rough. Frank looked at her, and she scoffed. "What did you say? So it was okay if they raped me?" She rolled her eyes, flipping her hair backwards, "It's your kind of officer who carries justice and has no idea who deserves justice, I hope you don't have a daughter, because imagine her in a situation like that, you would be thankful if it were to be you. I do hope God gives you a daughter, but he shouldn't cause I think you're a bad father,"
"Cupcake," Irwin pulled her to his body, smiling. "You don't want to talk to an officer that way," he said with a mocking tone.
Frank cleared his throat. "That's all, but Mr Kent would pay a fine as he isn't allowed to use a gun for the time being," Irwin scowled.
"Robert will be with you shortly," His voice rough with a menacing edge. His cold eyes glimmered with dangerous light.
Henry held Frank, giving him a sign to stop. "Money must be nothing for you, Mr Kent."
"If you're done, leave, and next time, I won't allow you into my property without a warrant."
Frank scoffed, walking out of their presence, but Henry turned back.
"I hope I will be invited to your wedding," Henry said.
"Are you okay?" Irwin asked Eisley, and she nodded. Henry nodded and walked away, leaving them.
"I promise I won't do that again, I just thought," her forehead rested on his.
"The picture, I loved it," Irwin's hands pushed the strands of her hair behind her ears. Eisley's smile widened.
