Chapter 1 - 1. Fire

In the dark forest, where silence reigned, Axel Blackwood moved forward with silent steps. The moonlight that fell on his skin made him even more mysterious. He thought about how merciless time had been; the death of his family had chilled him to the bone. His emotions had frozen, leaving his heart ice-cold. The depth of his eyes bore the scars of his pain.

He wasn't alone. Beside him were Felix and Maxwell Blackwood, individuals who shared the same last name but not the same family ties. They moved silently forward, each fighting their own battles.

Axel took a deep breath and surveyed his surroundings. The forest was quiet, yet it held many dangers. Years of experience had taught him to be ever vigilant. Now he sensed the dangers lurking in this silence.

Axel looked at the blood in his hand. He loathed it, but he needed it to survive. In this dark world, one couldn't exist without blood.

As he slowly moved forward, he noticed Felix and Maxwell stoking the fire. It was not a ritual, but a tactic to destroy their enemies. For Axel it was just a show. True power came from the coldness and determination within.

Turning his gaze to the fire, Axel contemplated the blood in his hand. He was tired of being exposed to these damned things. He did it because he didn't want others to live their fate. For him, everything had to be under control. Therefore, he treaded carefully and made every decision meticulously.

He washed the blood from his hand with water. The smell of blood filled his nostrils, intensifying the coldness within him. However, he refrained from showing it outwardly, as he didn't want to appear weak. He noticed that his clothes had suffered in the process, but he didn't care. His appearance already reflected the darkness in his soul.

He looked at Maxwell and Felix and saw their exhaustion and boredom. It was not physical fatigue, but spiritual fatigue. But they didn't complain because they believed in the righteousness of their actions. Axel trusted them because they shared his beliefs. After gathering enough wood, they turned around and rested on the ground together.

Leaving the fire behind, Axel, Maxwell and Felix walked silently deeper into the forest, each lost in his own thoughts.

They had killed two vampires that night. Axel had tricked them both before killing them alone. They had also burned their corpses. Although these two vampires were of the same species, they had been killed because they were child abusers and murderers.

Since they lived in the city, they couldn't find any animals, so they got blood bags from the hospital. Getting blood bags was easy for them because Axel had his own hospital.

Occasionally they would look at each other on the way, but they didn't talk much. Each of them was fighting the ghosts of the past in his own world, a common struggle that kept them together.

Eventually they reached the edge of the forest, and Axel's mansion loomed in the distance. As they approached, the atmosphere lightened slightly, but there was still tension in the air.

Breaking the silence, Axel spoke. "Tonight we need to plan our next move. We may have to take more security measures."

Maxwell nodded. "Yes, the number of our enemies has increased lately. We have to be more careful."

Felix added with a grin, "More enemies means more fun."

Axel smiled slightly; Felix always managed to lighten the mood. "Of course, we can take a break for a while."

They slowly made their way back to the mansion, supporting each other as they continued their inner battles. The night ended as they quietly returned home, ready to face the challenges of a new day.

Maxwell patrolled the area around the mansion, checking security measures. With sunrise, people would begin to wake up, so caution was essential.

Meanwhile, Felix was setting up the music system to lighten the mood. For a vampire who worked tirelessly through the night, music was a way to rest his soul.

After drinking some blood at breakfast, they prepared for the day ahead. They were ready to fight together against the challenges that the new day would bring.

The next morning, Axel, Maxwell and Felix moved silently around the mansion. After staying awake all night, they didn't need sleep as vampires. They emerged from their rooms with the sunrise.

Axel smiled softly. "Maybe we can venture out a bit today. Seeing new places could do us good."

Maxwell, still grumpy, remarked, "Travel? What's the point for me? Especially at this early hour."

Felix started to laugh.

"Come on. What difference does time make to a vampire?"

Ignoring Maxwell's grumpiness, Axel and Felix began their preparations. They gathered the necessary items for the trip and prepared to leave the mansion.
