Axel walked towards the scent of perfume, holding his axe in his right hand, while Felix and Maxwell held guns in theirs. Axel stopped when he saw a blood trail on one of the trees. He was sure it wasn't human blood, but couldn't determine what type it was. They were getting close to the perfume scent. Axel also took his second axe in his left hand.
The trees around them were quite old, some even over a thousand years old. As they approached the entrance to a cave, the team began to move towards it.
When they reached the entrance of the cave, Axel wondered what kind of scene awaited them inside. The scent of perfume was coming from within. Felix and Maxwell were a bit hesitant, with Maxwell scanning the surroundings from time to time.
Axel cautiously started to enter the cave. The inside was quite spacious, with water droplets falling from the ceiling occasionally. The atmosphere inside was different from outside. Besides the scent of perfume, there were also other odors present, making it difficult to identify the source of the scent.
As they moved forward, they realized they were getting closer to the scent they were following. Inside, they found several people, most of whom were unconscious, as if cocooned by a spider. Axel didn't rush to rescue them. First, he would ensure their safety.
Among the conscious individuals, there were three newcomers, who remained silent as they observed the other two. They seemed to be distressed, realizing they had been foolish to end up in such a situation.
Axel scanned the surroundings and spotted someone who wasn't human—a female vampire. Her yellow eyes indicated that she didn't feed on human blood. Axel and his friends, on the other hand, were vampires who wore colored lenses to conceal their red eyes.
The female vampire was chained from head to toe. Axel deduced that she must be weak from not feeding for a long time, and whoever had captured her must be stronger than an average vampire.
When the vampire saw Axel, she looked at him with pleading eyes. It was the first time since becoming a vampire that she found herself in such a predicament. She was so weak and helpless that all she wanted was to escape.
She couldn't gather the courage to speak. Axel approached the chained vampire, causing her to feel a bit frightened. Axel raised his axe, expecting her to flinch in fear. But instead, he turned the axe upside down and struck the chain with its blunt side, breaking it. As the chains fell away, the vampire was freed.
The reason Axel released the vampire was that he believed in vegetarianism among vampires. He was certain that a weakened vampire like her posed no threat to them. The female vampire was relieved to be free, as she had been held captive by that creature for days.
Axel glanced at Maxwell, who understood his intention and moved closer to the vampire. Meanwhile, Axel focused on the creature responsible for capturing these people.
Leaving the rescue operation to Felix, Axel's priority was to deal with the creature. He knew that if there was a creature nearby, it had been following them from a distance. His heightened senses confirmed its proximity. Though he was certain that the creature was intelligent, Axel wasn't afraid. His specially crafted axe, coupled with his combat skills, made him confident in facing any threat.
When Axel stepped out of the cave, he sensed the creature's approach. The forest was eerily silent, which was never a good sign. Knowing that the creature was closing in, Axel sprinted away from the cave. As he ran, he was certain that the creature had been tracking them all along the journey. Despite its intelligence, Axel wasn't afraid. His axe was his weapon of choice, and he was prepared to use it if necessary.
As Axel paused after reaching a safe distance, he waited for the creature to catch up. He knew that it would soon appear, and when it did, he would be ready to confront it. Moments later, a creature with greenish skin, twice the size of a human, emerged from the shadows. Its grotesque appearance didn't faze Axel. Instead, he observed the creature intently, trying to discern its capabilities.
The creature roared as it charged towards Axel, attempting to assert its dominance. Axel, unperturbed by its display, stood his ground. When the creature lunged at him, Axel sprang into action. Utilizing his exceptional speed and combat skills, Axel swiftly disabled the creature by severing its legs with his axe.
Despite the creature's attempts to defend itself, Axel's speed and precision were unmatched. With a final strike, Axel incapacitated the creature, leaving it lying on the ground, defeated.
From an outsider's perspective, it might have seemed like Axel was torturing a helpless creature. But Axel was not cruel—he was pragmatic. He knew that capturing the creature alive was not an option, as he lacked the necessary means to contain it. With a swift motion, Axel delivered the fatal blow, ending the creature's life. Monster's head left from body.
As the scene unfolded, Axel remained composed. His actions were driven by necessity, not cruelty. With the threat eliminated, Axel turned his attention back to the cave, where his friends were ensuring the safety of the rescued individuals.
