Chapter 33. She loved her
Alex took Ava back to the infirmary in his arms. He hate the fact that she was going through all this. It wasn't her fault. It wasn't Kyle's fault either. But it was hurting him to see her go through all this. He brought her to the infirmary with Daisy beside him. The doctor was there and immediately took Ava from him.
"She's bruised her feet", Daisy said.
"I'll be outside", Alex said and left. Daisy looked towards his direction and followed. Ava was left behind with the doctor.
The doctor looked at her feet that were bleeding. He heaved a deep sigh and brought out his items for cleansing the wound and treating them.
"Ava, you're an athlete, isn't it?"
Ava was mute. She didn't want to say anything. Her mind was still trying to balance. The doctor didn't mind and went on to say, "You should look after yourself. Don't do things that would end your future" the doctor advised.
"I'm sorry for the stress", she apologized after a while. "I'll be in my best behavior".
The doctor smiled, exposing all his dentition. "You have a game coming up. The whole school is counting on you. You don't want to let us down, or do you?"
Ava shook her head and looked out of the window. She didn't speak again till the doctor was done with the treatment. He gave her some medications before going into his office.
In front of the infirmary.
"Alex, I need you to calm down. It's no one's fault that this things are happening", Daisy said trying to make Alex understand.
"I know. But, why should she suffer? It's painful to watch", Alex said his face filled with fury.
"This could be your chance", Daisy said.
Alex looked at her. "What do you mean?"
Daisy smiled and leaned on the wall. "You think I don't know?"
Alex arched a brow at her. "Daisy..."
"I knew you had a thing for her since first year. You can't hide it can you?"
"You too", Alex said.
Daisy looked away not wanting to talk about it.
"I'm not the only one who likes her. You're in love with her too", Alex broadened the explanation.
"No one's gonna believe you. I don't look like I like her. We bicker a lot an I don't do tomboy stuffs", Daisy defended.
"Whatever", Alex said and began walking in. However, Daisy drew him back. "Don't let her know", she pleaded.
"It's fine. You can always come to me if you need help", he said gesturing to the stuff in between her legs.
Daisy smacked him and chuckled.
(Daisy and Alex had a funny relationship but that would be for later).
Alex came into the room where Ava was. She was looking out of the window her mind clouded with thoughts he didn't know about.
"Ava", he called her, drawing her mind from tr abyss it was trying to sink into.
As if she was jolted, she turned her gaze towards the door.
"Oh...Alex", she called.
"Yeah", he said and walked to the bed.
"I'm sorry for everything", she apologized while looking at him. "I know I have stressed you out a lot recently. I'm very sorry about that".
Alex patted her gently on her hand with a soft smile on his face. "That's ok. It's fine".
"I'm grateful to have you and Daisy by my side. I don't know what I would have done without you guys".
"Yeah, you wouldn't be able to do anything without us baby", Daisy slurred while walking in. She was done sorting her emotions and was back to her normal self.
Ava smiled her and patted the space next to her for Daisy to come sit on. Daisy grinned happily and went forward to sit. Ava quickly leaned on her shoulder, holding her closely. "Thanks so much Daisy. I'm sorry for putting you through this. I lost it".
Daisy was flustered and couldn't react in time. Alex looked at her and smirked.
"Oh... that's not a problem", she said and pushed Ava away. "I knew that you'd do anything for Kyle. You loved him even, but you just don't know what you were feeling".
Ava sighed again. "Let's not talk about him for now. I want to go home and rest".
"Yeah. I think that's what you need right now", Alex said and swooped her in his arms. Ava was surprised but still thanked him. Daisy's brows furrowed at the sight of this... however, she kept mum about it. She loved Ava but she couldn't bring herself to say it. She thought she had gotten rid of these feelings for her but that was the lie she told herself. She had used so many means to do that. Always finding something to tease her about or to tell her that she should be with Kyle it to push her towards other guys but, the pain in her heart whenever she did that was a reminder. She loved her. She didn't know how long that feeling was going to last but...
