Chapter 37. Her target
Ava left the pitch, hurrying home. On her way, she met Alex who was on his way to the football pitch for a game.
"Ava?"
"Yeah Alex", she replied hiding her face.
"You're ok?"
"Yeah. I'm going home".
"It's time for your practice. Where are you headed?"
"Home. I can't stay here anymore".
Alex wanted to ask further but held back. "You can't go home like this. C'mon, let's bunk school today".
Ava looked at him. "Huh? Bunking?"
"Yeah. I'm not also feeling it. Let's go out and enjoy ourselves".
Ava chuckled. "Are you serious?"
"I have never lied to you have I?"
"Ok. Let's bunk school Alex", she said.
Alex smiled at her and took her hands in his. Ava's body stilled and the Alex noticed it. He immediately let go of her.
"Forgive my manners".
Ava looked at him. "Not at all", she said and grabbed his hands. "Let's go"
Alex chuckled at her cuteness and held her firmly.
He started off on a run and soon they were out of sight under the gazes of two people. Daisy and Kyle.
Kyle saw the two skip off and his brows furrowed tightly. But why was that? Why was he feeling that way? He should be happy that she wouldn't come after him but he wasn't. Seeing someone else hold her hands...pricked him strangely.
Daisy pouted as the duo left hand in hand. She also wanted to tag along. She sighed and walked towards her class when she suddenly bumped into someone. The person's items came crashing and reflexively, Daisy bent down picked them up. When she finally stood, the sight before her made her want to puke.
"It's you?", she asked her eyes filled with unbelief.
"Yes", Kaitlyn replied.
Daisy scoffed and threw the books at her one after another with full effort.
"Pick them up", she said.
"Why would you do that? You bumped into me", Kaitlyn shot back.
"How did I? C'mon it was an accident", Daisy said with a chuckle while patting her shoulders. "It was really unintentional", she said and left.
Kaitlyn smirked at her. She didn't want to think too much about Daisy's misbehaviour. Her main target was Ava. She didn't care about anyone else.
The lawn tennis practice came to an end. Miss Riley called Tyla to the side.
"Tyla"
"Yes Miss Riley", Tyla replied.
"You need to improve before next week. You know you're taking Ava's spot so, all eyes will be on you".
Tyla clenched her fists as jealousy shot through her. "Yes Miss Riley".
"Don't talk to her like that next time. She's your teammate and as teammates, you shouldn't treat one another like that. I taught you better than what you acted today".
"Yes Miss Riley ".
"Also, you could take lessons from her, she's good at coaching too".
After Miss Riley had cautioned her, she left the lawn.
Tyla was pissed. She had never been reprimanded before but now...she was, all thanks to Ava Bateman. A chiming sound was heard and immediately, she checked her phone. It was her closest friend Mia.
You up for a drink after school?
Tyla finally smiled and replied the text with a 'yes'.

Tyla clicked her tongue and replied with an 'Ok. See you after school'
