Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

"Rei! Rei! Oh, seriously..." Rei heard faintly. He hadn't opened his eyes yet so he kept on seeing these pictures, pictures that seemed so familiar and implicit, before he was brought out of his picture-seeing trance by the banana.

Opening his eyes in a daze, he looked up at the man whom he had just met the other night, "What?" he asked, vision unclear as he sat up and rubbed his eyes. "You have work to do, don't you? Remember this is just your second week, you already messed up dyeing your hair for work and not dyeing it back, don't try to start your second week showing up late. You might just end up unemployed and blacklisted for bad work ethics. I'm worried for you y'know" Rei listened to his compassionate speech and felt funny. He asked "Why would I be blacklisted from working at a mall, ha don't try to scare me, also most important question, who are you?"

The eyes of the man widened and the words, "Who are you?" reverberated in his mind. After a momentary silence, he chuckled and with a wry smirk he sent the question back, "Who are you?"

Rei hearing this became confused and said, "You don't know?" SILENCE "Either way, I don't wanna tell you. Look, I don't know why you brought me here but since it's nothing serious like abduction or trafficking, I'm out" standing up from the bed, he continued "I do not appreciate taking me from the comfort of my home to try to squeeze yourself into my life and if you say you're not, what's then up with this room? I do not accept the feelings of weirdoes and if you are a decent weirdo you would let me go home" He tried to walk out of the room but his hand was grabbed by the banana, who looked at him with a complicated sort of scared expression

"What are you even saying right now? You don't know me? Vani? Doesn't ring a bell?" The man who we now know as Vani asked. Rei pulled his arm away, "Never heard!" then with dormancy he pushed open the door but was brought to a quick halt by seeing a stairs 'so that guy is rich…still I don't want to stay here'

With the clear goal of escaping, he made his way downstairs but he didn't get down halfway when his hand was grabbed by Vani. "Don't go away!" the man screamed which made Rei flinch, when Rei flinched the man let go and quickly apologised and told him that he didn't understand why he was acting as though he didn't remember anything.

Rei who stopped listening to the man speak thought about it and being a great novel enthusiast, summed it up to transmigration and memory recollection of the former person. He looked at the man who was still talking and wondered, 'Should I tell him? Seeing as he is someone important to this body, I must! This is not the past era so he can't just kill me cause I took over the body of someone important to him'

Rei decided it would be best to tell Vani and so he took his hand and said seriously, "I'm so sorry to tell you this, but I'm not blueberry" Rei had concluded that that was the body's name because it was what Vani had called him, meanwhile Vani had an, even more confused than ever, expression on his face when Rei had said that. Rei confident in his theory continued, "I am Rei davelin, I used to work at 'luxury's best stop, TKT' and now it seems that I've transmigrated and taken over the body of your dearly beloved friend, blueberry, apologies"

Rei who had experienced such a bizarre thought process, finished his sentence but vani who stood opposite him, wondered if he had been too rough last night to the point that Rei's memories came back in half and half and he became delusional.

"Are you angry?" Rei asked looking up at Vani with wide eyes and that expression alone was enough to almost push Vani off the edge, but he caught himself on time. Vani cleared his throat and said "No" then Rei, hearing this response, sighed in releif and with an equally relieved smile muttered "We really are not in the olden era"

Vani hearing Rei's delusional words, thought for a moment before smiling to himself and once again using Rei's simple-mindedness to get what he wanted. "I'm kind of sad and lost, my best friend is no longer here?" Vani said with a light shocked tone and Rei, sensing the low-key depressed tone, out of thoughtfulness said "I'm awfully sorry, it is not my will but God's" Vani saw his opportunity and quickly said "Well, I guess I should just deal with it. You are new to this world right? Why don't you live here after all you don't know anything about my world so I can help you when you're lost, plus I want to keep an eye on you, you are not my best friend but you are a guest and a stranger and you're in his body. If his body were to be in trouble, or killed even, could I ever live with myself?" Rei thought over it for a while before saying "sure" with a dashing smile.
