It had been only a week since Rei started working for Kyle but he was already physically and morally tired. Maybe this was the life of office workers that many people ever so often complain about online. He spent the first week of his new life going up and down a thirty floored building by elevator and sometimes even he had to take the stairs because the elevator was taking too much time, he carried files a lot and he had to put on a good attitude for colleagues and his 'boss'.
Saturday was a day of heaven for him, well up until the moment Vani told him to dress up because he would take him out.
He groaned and whined but got up nevertheless; he was excited to see the differences between a huge commercial city like Trine and the small city he lived in which was situated some few kilometers away from the outskirt of their state. He was aware of the setting of this novel; it was set a few cities away from his, in the same state, so he didn't really anticipate anything too extravagant or different.
"Waaaah" Rei sighed, they were standing in front of a complex storey shopping mall. It was so tall, one of the tallest buildings he had ever seen in his twenty three years of living. Vani walked in and angled his head in such a way he could comfortably look at him (He is taller than Rei) and said, "This place might seem foreign to you, yeah?" Rei hummed, after all he hadn't stepped foot in Trine before, it was exciting to say the least. All his days of working in that company, he didn't get time to appreciate the overview from Kyle's window; because he was too busy drilling holes in the ceiling or wall with his eyes.
Vani asked him, "Do you want to visit some restaurants first or should we walk around for a while? Considering you're going to be staying here, you do need to know your way around the mall" Rei turned his attention back to the blonde and said, "Let's walk around first" —And walk around they did.
Rei had a whole new experience, he saw so many things of high quality that he never even imagined of before. He was busy eyeing everything that he walked past until his eyes settled on a large shop that had a sign with cursive writing on it, it read 'Viva En La beaute'
To say the least, it was the fanciest and highest class place that Rei had ever seen. It had wonderful clothing in a glass display and everything about the shop seemed fabulous and not for the average man, hence drawing the average man aka Rei.
Vani had noticed that the shop caught Rei's attention so he stopped walking and said to him, "Do you want to check it out?" Rei was quick to say, "Sure"
They walked in and the first thing that Rei thought was that it is good to have a well-off friend.
The clothe designs in the shop were absolutely stunning and obviously the quality was top-notch. Nobody Rei knew was directly told but Rei had a certain thing for fashion; this can also be seen in his efforts to dress fashionably even though the quality of the clothes, or durability, was not very high.
He admired some of the designs before his eyes fell on a mannequin that had a black short-sleeve body tight shirt under a beige coloured trench coat coupled with equally black pants that was tight on the waist and loose from the hips. It was very beautiful standing there in all its fashionable glory and it caught Rei's attention.
Vani noticed this and asked him, "Do you like that?" Rei nodded his head without removing his eyes from the awesome combination until Vani asked if he wanted it. He looked at Vani with wide hopeful eyes, "You would buy it for me?" Vani agreed and who was Rei to reject such a generous offer. Rei left the shop feeling very satisfied with his black shopping bag that had the name of the shop on it, he didn't feel like eyeing materials anymore so he told Vani that they should get something to eat and get going.
They went to a fancy little food court and helped themselves to pastries and smoothies before leaving to get some household items— that was the main purpose for their little outing.
After exiting the shopping mall, putting the purchased items into Vani's car and getting into the car themselves, Vani said, "Hey, since the day is still young, why don't we go to the amusement park, I heard a new ride came out"
Where Rei formerly resided, there was no such place as an amusement park, only a park, so he was pleased to hear Vani's suggestion. He agreed and Vani drove them over to the amusement park named 'Krittles Amusement Park'
It was an animal themed amusement park and following so there were a lot of animal mannequins and paintings and animal inspired games. Vani looked ahead and spotted the new ride, it was named "Hell Ride"
Hell Ride only consisted of a chair with straps, to protect the rider, and a very tall and sturdy pole that measured up to about 200 meters. The pole had a track on it it spiralling all the way up. When the rider is properly strapped, they get taken up at a very high speed, fast enough to produce only after images in the point of view of the rider.
They got into the line and Rei went first. As to be expected, it was very terrifying and Rei felt like he had never screamed so loud in his life—which was true. When he got down onto the safety of firm ground, Vani told him that he had a dolphin scream which he really didn't appreciate at that moment considering he was seconds away from passing out due to shock and overstimulation.
Vani went on the ride next and coped with it by keeping his eyes tightly shut and trying to ignore the gush of wind slapping him—keyword: Trying. When he got down, he was ashen-faced in a sense he could be compared to a ghost. Surprisingly, during the time Vani rode the ride, Rei had recovered and remembering the thrill of near death, he lined up to go again.
Vani sat on a bench drinking a cool drink and watching as Rei went on the ride, three more times before finally calling quits. Rei couldn't even walk properly so he had to lean a little on Vani as they walked back to the car to go home. Along the way, they had some extra candy and snacks.

Back at home, Rei immediately went to his room and collapsed onto his bed. Vani was still downstairs, he was restocking those household items he had bought and later he would be going to stream—as he had told Rei.
Rei who lay on his bed thought, "Trine is such a fun place. If the amusement park is like this, I can't wait to go to the Jin river or the Placreen museum"
Subconsciously, he started listing some of the places that Trine was famous for, since he was here why not just enjoy himself, after all he has a rich friend now—he fell asleep while still listing.
