Chapter 36 - Shinjuku Slaughter.(2)

High in the sky over Makyo Shinjuku, a grotesque cursed spirit in the form of a large bird hovered quietly.

On the back of this cursed spirit was a man dressed in Buddhist robes with a small smile on his face.

"Here we are...Sukuna is having the time of his life fighting against so many sorcerer's at once. But I believe...not everyone is here."

Below the man was a scene of absolute chaos and carnage.

Sukuna and Uraume fought vehemently against the team of sorcerer's that was made up from those old and new.

New sorcerers like Higuruma and Charles joined the ones from Jujutsu High, bolstering their manpower considerably.

But Sukuna was too powerful. Even their combined efforts proved unfruitfull against the King Of Curses' onslaught.

Kenjaku, seeing this, sighed.

"I think this has gone on long enough. I have seen everything this world has to offer. There's no use in me prolonging the inevitable any longer."

Kenjaku stuck his hand into the cursed spirits body, transforming it into a black cursed katana. It looked as if he was holding a blade of flowing black ink within his hands.

As he fell down to the ground, he took note of every sorcerer that was present or in hiding.

If they planned to fight, they would be executed today.

BOOM!

Kenjaku landed in a crater on the ground between Sukuna, Uraume and the rest of the surrounding fighters, shocking them greatly.

'Kenjaku?...No...heh. It seems that the old sorcerer finally met his end.'

Sukuna immediately recognized who it was from the overwhelming cursed energy alone.

Yuji, who was also present, also recognized who it was surprisingly enough.

Kenjaku stood up, cracked his neck, and looked at all of the surrounding opposition, his expression completely at ease.

Glancing back at Uraume and then at Sukuna, Kenjaku said, "You wanna strike a deal, King Of Curses?"

Sukuna squinted his eyes as he slowly replied, "I'm surprised. You don't seem like the type to negotiate. What do you have in mind?"

Kenjaku slowly locked eyes with the surrounding sorcerer's, his smile widening as he did so.

"I've gotten tired of looking at this fruitless battle. This continuous struggle is pointless. As such, I believe that there's no reason for the weak to keep persisting on this battlefield."

Hearing his words, the surrounding sorcerer's could feel their stomachs sinking.

"So what I'm trying to say is, let's team up and eliminate these fools, then we will have a battle where only the strongest can participate."

Sukuna laughed wholeheartedly. This new 'Kenjaku' was an interesting one indeed.

But, that didn't mean he was against his proposition. In fact...

"I like the way you think, 'Kenjaku'. Then, let's do it. Let's see who will be left alive to stand amongst us."

The moment those words left Sukuna's mouth, Kenjaku appeared in front of Kusakabe with his katana overhead, ready to strike.

"That's all I needed to hear."

Kusakabe immediately drew his sword in preparation to block the attack, but Kenjaku just calmly brought his blade down, bisecting everything in front of him.

Blood poured out like a sprinkler from Kusakabe's collapsing corpse, covering Kenjaku in the color of death.

"Kusakabe!!"

The new and seemingly improved Maki Zenin rushed at Kenjaku with reckless abandon, her sworn teammate Panda right alongside her.

Wielding a broadsword, Maki swung it at Kenjaku's neck, causing the man to easily deflect it and counter with a violent, almost impossible-to-see slash across her torso.

Even with her enhanced senses, the girl could only manage to raise her broadsword halfway before Kenjaku's blade razed through her durability.

At the same moment, Panda arrived and grabbed Kenjaku with all of his might, pushing him through the wall of a building in an attempt to restrain him.

"Is that it?"

Kenjaku struck Panda to the face with his knee, stunning the animal.

"What a waste of a soul."

SWISH! SWISH!

Panda's body fell down into pieces as it was cut into four, his killer dusting off his robes as he walked over his corpse.

The moment Kenjaku left the building, he was charged by a man covered in electricity wielding a staff.

Due to stolen memories, Kenjaku could easily identify the crazed man as Hajime Kashimo, the strongest of the Edo Period.

"Jin Itadori! I knew it was you! Fight me! Show me what you can really do!"

Kenjaku was unimpressed.

Kashimo immediately clashed with the man, bostaff versus sword, with Kenjaku easily parrying all of his blows using the edge of the blade.

Electrically powered by his unique cursed energy trait, Kashimo was incredibly fast, even compared to the fastest sorcerer's around.

His skill was undeniable with a staff. Even Kenjaku took note of it.

But in the end, there wasn't anything more to him.

Deflecting Kashimo's staff, Kenjaku's speed suddenly increased drastically as he thrusted his blade into the sorcerers chest, stopping him in his tracks for a few moments.

Knowing that the chances were high that Kashimo had RCT, Kenjaku twisted the blade in the man's chest and channeled an enormous amount of lightning into his body.

"Lightning? Haven't you noticed what my cursed energy trait is? Fool!"

While at first, the lightning seemed to power Kashimo up, he soon started to realize what was happening.

Kenjaku was overloading him with so much electricity that his cursed energy and even cursed technique started to go out of control.

"How much more you can take? I'm curious."

Ramping up the voltage significantly, the sky seemed to darken as lightning struck Kashimo from above, adding even more energy.

"To...think...I...was...beaten...so...easily."

BOOM!

In moments, Kashimo's body exploded, transforming into pure electric energy which Kenjaku happily absorbed.

WHOOSH!

Suddenly, an innumerable amount of large crosses made of light struck Kenjaku in the back, forcing him down to his knees. The power of the attack disintegrated the top portion of his robes, revealing the crosses completely embedded in his body, seemingly burning his cursed energy away.

'Why...is this...so effective against me?! Why couldn't the Six Eyes see it coming?!'

Kenjaku could feel his power leaving his body as he struggled to stand up, only to fall to his knees once again.

"O' Light. O' all-purifying light. Erase his sin, guilt, and sorrow. And guide him."

These words, the sound of a trumpet and a deafening ring hit his ear just before a pillar of light struck him into the ground, burning away all Jujutsu within him.

His techniques, energy, everything.

A girl with angel wings could be seen standing on a large hill of debris not too far away, channeling the technique.

If this went on, Kenjaku knew, that he would be defeated.

Sukuna, fighting leisurely against Yuji, Higuruma, and Choso, looked calmly at this scene with a smile on his face.

'If you die to this, 'Kenjaku', then your own words would have backfired against you. Heh, how funny that would be!'

Uraume seemed elated at Kenjaku's impending death as she fought the Jackpot sorcerer, Kinji Hakari.

As long as Kenjaku was gone, Sukuna could exist unchallenged. That would be her greatest desire.

Kenjaku's entire body was completely face down in the ground as his body was now covered in crosses, the process of his power being burned away operating at its maximum capacity.

'Tch! What is this technique?'

Within moments, most of his cursed techniques were burned away, diminishing his versatility greatly.

Feeling the grasp of over his life slipping, Kenjaku pressed down on the ground with all of his might, pushing himself up through oppressive, burning light.

He could feel it.

His body adjusting to the technique.

His soul, mind, and flesh adapting and transcending the current opposition at hand.

No matter what the obstacle was, even if it wasn't at the present moment, Kenjaku would overcome.

"Maki, he's moving! Hurry up and finish him off!"

Maki, seemingly still alive even after her torso was torn open, ran into the pillar of light with her broadsword in a reverse grip.

Seeing that Kenjaku was starting to actually get back on his knees, Maki thrusted her sword into his back, eviscerating his spine.

Well, that's what she thought would happen.

CLANGGGG!

The blade shattered into pieces as Kenjaku immediately swept her off her feet and impaled her with his entire arm while she was mid-air, all in one motion.

"G-geurgh!"

Kenjaku tossed Maki to the side and moved out of the pillar of light with incredible speed, appearing in front of the angelic girl in moments.

"Hana! Get away!"

A voice on the side of the girl's cheeks tried to warn her, but it was too late.

A small eye opened at the center of Kenjaku's palms as he grabbed the girl by the head, made a hand sign and muttered, "Seal!"
