Chapter 6 - Little Miss?

Walking in the paved dirt road under the sun on it's peak daytime. Xian trying her best to remain calm and not to fall from madness because of what happened to her mother.

'I need to balance myself out, revenge is still a long way.' She thought, by now, the distance between her and the small village is now close and just a few steps left to enter the village vicinity.

However, at the village entrance which is a wooden gate built with logs acting as a fence that stood several meter high, stood there is a couple of men clad in silver armor with their hands on waist that had a sheated sword.

With an undraw sword on her waist, Xian slowly approach the gate and the 'guards' and was about to ask something but one of the two 'guards' talked to her first.

"What's your business here little miss?" The 'guard' asked while tightening his grip on the sword, being wary of the sword in Xian's waist.

'Little miss?' Xian brows twitch as she answered the 'guard'. "Im here to find a hotel or somewhere to stay for the day and night."

The 'guards' look to each other, the other 'guard' talked this time and informed. "There has been an incident happened around the village, we will only pass those who went inspection, little miss."

'Little miss again?!' Xian tried her best to maintain calm as she agreed with the 'guards' and said. "Okay then, I'll cooperate with the two of you as long as I can go inside."

The 'guards' nodded and the previous 'guard' talked again and ordered. "Drop the sword and bag slowly to the ground and step back several steps."

Xian nodded and did what the 'guard' told her, she slowly unbelted the sheated sword in her waist and dropped the sling leather bag in her back to the ground before stepping back several steps.

"Take off the cloak too before I come close to you." The 'guard' ordered again.

'Unarmed or not, I can deafeat the both of you.' Xian didn't argue as she unknotted the lock of her cloak and dropping it in the ground.

The 'guard' nodded at her and slowly walked towards her with caution and sword in his hand.

The 'guard' cautiously inspected Xian and was gentlemanly enough to not touch the girl's private area.

'Yeah, like that or else I'll send you to your mother's womb.' Xian nodded at the 'guard' after inspecting her before grabbing and patting the dust from the cloak, she dressed it again as she walked towards the other 'guard' who was just finished inspecting her leather bag.

The 'guard' then handed her the sword and leather bag before informing her. "We didn't added or removed anything inside so don't worry."

"Sure, can I go now?" Xian asked after belting the sword sheath again in her waist and placing the sling bag at her back.

"Yes, enjoy the stay at our village." The 'guard' answered her and then turned to his comrade and nodded at the latter. The other 'guard' then went to the wooden gate and opened it heavily.

Xian nodded at that 'guard' before walking inside the gate.

To her surprise, the small village was actually not that small. There were one story and two story house and building that can be seen here and there with enough gap to each other for a place to put fence for houses near the edge of the village.

Red, brown, gray, and white bricks can be seen at the exterior of those buildings and wooden fence that surrounds it. There were also several small merchant store at those buildings that sells various products.

Xian walked several meters and arrived at the village center, stood there is a structure that ejected water from its dome and flowing it downwards that was being catched by the surrounding walls that was only a several inch tall enough for water to now fall outside of it.

'A fountain?' Xian also saw benches that surrounds the fountain. The village center has cobbled path that leads to several named roads. The right side of the center stood a building that was the tallest in the village. It was equivalent to three story building and was wide enough to also be equivalent to three houses in the village.

'A church now huh, never knew it was tall.' Xian sized up the church which is yellow and white in color, at it's peak is a symbol of Sun indicating that the church worships the goddess of the orange sun, the light of day, the goddess Helera.

The church was also facing where the sun rises. Surrounding the church is several buildings that is different from the other buildings in the village.

The exterior of those buildings is gray and their peaks is that similar of a stone wall. Men and woman in looking expensive clothes can be seen entering and exiting there frequently.

'Oh, I also know that building, hm, it was the so called government buildings right? And where should I go now?' Xian said and questioned her mind.

'Hm, I will just explore the village for now and I might find a place to stay sooner or later while doing it.' With that being said in her mind, she walked again and explore the village.

To her surprise, the first named road she went in was actually a place where hotels and the so called bars resides in.

'Heh, luck is in my side or should I say fate?' Xian walked to the named road and saw several people walking here and there, some of them is wearing proper clothes while some have the so called adventurous clothes.

There was many hotels to choose from but Xian didn't know where to stay, while walking, she remembered something that her mother told her several years ago.

'There was so called bars that was the gathering point of these adventurous people, hm, better go there first to aquire information where to stay.' She said in her mind while walking, after several meters of walking, she arrived just before a two story building that was closely similar to the other buildings that surrounds it.

The only difference is that the so called adventurous people can be seen entering and exiting there frequently.

[Blue Leaf]

A sign above the bar's entrance, Xian undraw the curtain that was acting as the bar's door and saw a lively people inside. There were several people either talking to each other, drinking, or both.

People inside the bar was clothed with that gives an adventurous vibe. Some were cladded in armor, some have robes, some have swords, and some have staffs. But the bar was not lively without the chatting and drinking of men and even women which why is Xian was trying her very best to remain calm.

'F*ck is this, smells of alcohol and load murmurings of this f*cking people irritates me!' With Xian trying her best to remain calm, she walked to the counter of the bar that sells the alcohols.

Xian felt gazes of different people was landing on her with each steps, finnaly she sat down just infront of the bar's counter and lightly tapped the table that separates her and the so called 'Bartender'.

'I remember that Bartenders can sell information, well that was Auntie told me.' Xian thought before the bartender came to her.

"Little girls with such a toy shouldn't be here." The bartender mocked her.

Xian glance an intimidating gaze from her sharp eyes to the bartender, such gaze contains bloodlust of being called little girl again and again.

The bartender flinched as she stepped back, with a gulp and his back on the wall, he tremblingly asked. "S-sorry... Wh-what is it... Miss?"

Xian continued to glared at the bartender as she asked. "How much for an information?"

The bartender gulped again and answered. "One serving of a beverage or food, miss."

'Hm, I thought it was money that they ask, maybe each bars have different styles.' Xian stopped glaring at the bartender and ordered. "An orange juice then, no alcohol included."

"O-orange juice coming right up." The bartender then slowly walked to the side and brought a glass, a fresh orange, and a grinder. He professionally make the orange juice and after a while, she served it to Xian.

"How much?" She asked before gulping a mouthful of orange juice.

'Woah, my taste bacame better too!' She said in her mind after tasting the sweetness of the orange juice.

"Five copper it is... What's the thing you wanted to ask?" The bartender answered and asked, Xian by now was getting something in her sling bag and brought one silver coin.

She actually brought several necessities from her house and that includes the coins that her mother stored everytime some wondering merchant came to their house.

The bartender accepted the the silver coin as he brought several coins copper coins in his pants' pocket. The bartender counted and gave Xian 19 coins.

Xian accepted the change and instantly knew how much is it. She stuffed it in her sling bag and asked the bartender. "That's 19 right?"

"Y-yes, I counted it right." The bartender answered after gulping his throat.

"One simple question, where is the best place I could stay?" Xian asked simply before drinking the last bit of the orange juice.

"A place to stay... We have rooms for people to rent here actually, it was 10 copper for a day and 5 for half a day." The bartender answered truthfully.

'Here? F*cking noisy... Well I have limited coins to spare anyway... Guess I'll stay here.' Xian thought, she nodded at the bartender and ordered. "Give me one room then, until peak of the daytime."

The bartender nodded simply as he brought something from the drawers below the counter, she gave Xian a bronze key.

Xian on the other hand was nonchalantly gave the bartender 10 coins as the bartender pointed the upstairs.

"Room 04." The bartender informed.

Xian stood up from being sat and headed upstairs. After a while, she arrived at the hallway at the 2nd floor, there was several named rooms from 01 to 10. She came just before the room named 04 when suddenly she realized something.

'Do they looking at me because Im a little girl?! F*cking bastards! And why the hell my fast thinking only applied sometimes?' She complained in her mind with a twitch in her brows.

Trying to stay calm, she unlocked the room and entered it. The room was actually almost the same as her room, it was clean and boring with only several necessities inside.

Bed that can occupies one person, a table and a chair and enough room for convenient moving. There was a window at the center of the wall opposite of the door that leads to the outside world.

Xian unclothed her cloak after bringing the sling bag to the table, she unbelted the sheat of the sword and placed in on the table too.

She yawned before jumping to the bed.

'I hope that I would not dream of something again.' She thought.

Even though transendance can choose to not sleep, Xian chooses to sleep anyway because of her hobby.

She closed her eyes and after a while, she fell to sleep.
