"Ara~ what a polite child," Larissa said with a sweet smile but for some reason, her sweet smile gave me a shiver.

Must stay away from her.

"Woman stop wasting time. Tristan and I have to take these kids to the Royal Academy while you and the rest need to head for the next village." Andrew—the bald, tall teen said with a no-nonsense tone and Tristan nodded to his words.

Larissa looked annoyed at being interrupted and called a woman but she quickly schooled her expression and nodded.

Andrew is a G.

"You are right Andrew." She said and motioned us three kids to follow her but before she could take even a step I stopped her as I saw Erica with tearful eyes. Her sad face made me remember the old Magnus's memories of Erica and especially how she helped him many times and taught him basic maths and reading.

That also indirectly helped me cause I wouldn't be able to read the Royal Academy introductory book without her teaching the alphabet to Magnus.

"Senior, can I take her with me?" I questioned while pointing at Erica.

Larissa scanned Erica before she replied with a shake of her head.

"Magnus you can't, she needs to pass the assessment to come with us."

"Can I take her as an attendant like the nobles do? I read in the Royal Academy introductory book that nobles can take an attendant with them to the academy." Larissa raised an eyebrow at my words.

"Yeah you can take her as an attendant but did you also read that you have to provide for your attendant as well like other noble kids." She enquired.

"Of course."

Larissa looked into my eyes and seeing me not backing she sighed and relented.

"Fine, she can come with us."

I smiled and quickly went to Erica.

"Erica!" I called loudly which made her flinch.

"Magnus! You scared me! And what are you doing here? You shouldn't be wondering like that. What if you make the recruiters unpleased and they decide to fail you." Erica said worriedly and when she stealthily looked at Larissa and others she almost fainted seeing them looking at us.

"Erica, calm down. They won't fail or leave me here. I'm some kind of a genius in their view."

"Is that so?"

"Yes"

"Okay… then what are you doing here." She finally calmed down and looked at me curiously.

"There's a rule in the Royal Academy that students can take an attendant with them to help with their daily chores," I said hiding the fact that said students also need to pay for their attendant as the academy's scholarships don't extend to them.

"Really?" She asked confusedly, not seeing where I was going with this. I chuckled at her confused face. Intelligent or not, a kid is a kid.

"Yeah. I know how much you want to go there so I got permission from Lar-recruiter to bring you as my attendant. Although it's not as great as being a student but you can still learn through my books and I can teach you whatever the teachers taught in the class. So will you come with m-uff" I couldn't finish as Erica lunged at me and wrapped me in a tight hug.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!" she kept whispering thanks in my ears while crying her heart out. I would have let her cry for some time but I can feel Larissa's eyes on my back.

"Let's go. Can't have the recruiters wait." I whispered in her ears and patted her back. Erica let go of the hug and nodded with a red face. She looked embarrassed breaking down in front of someone she considers a little brother.

I wanted to tease her. She just looked too cute. Unfortunately, there were too many people and too little time.

I took Erica to Larissa and others where they took us to our ride. It was a giant bird resembling an eagle. I got excited seeing our ride but Andrew's next words poured cold water on it.

"That's not our ride. It's Larissa's." He said before holding my head and turning it to the left.

"Now that's our ride." He continued while pointing at the normal carriage, fancy but normal.

I instantly became disappointed and it definitely showed on my face cause Tristan and Andrew broke into laughter.

Regardless of my disappointment and annoyance, I boarded the carriage alongside others.

Andrew and Tristan took one side while the four of us recruits sat on the other. Andrew motioned the coachman who jerked the reigns causing the two horses to start pulling the carriage. While we moved towards the crownroad leading towards the capital I saw Larissa and the other two guys climbing the giant eagle. Larissa rubbed its neck and whispered something. The giant eagle gave a cry and pushed itself off the ground.

Is the eagle intelligent? I thought while watching the eagle fly at an astonishing speed. In just a few minutes it completely disappeared from the view.

"It's fast, right? That's a Tier-3 mortal primeval beast." Andrew said with a clear dezire in his voice.

"And the very peak of Tier-3 as well." Tristan added before he continued.

"Larissa comes from a noble family, her father got it for her when she reached Tier-2."

"Fucking silver spooned brats." Andrew commented with click of his tongue.

My expression probably turned wierd and Tristan noticed it cause he explained the reason behind Andrew's jealousy.

"Don't look him like that, Magnus. Andrew is obsessed over flying primeval beast but he's too weak to tame the ones he likes. While Larissa has no interest and is just as strong as Andrew but still tamed one of the best flying primeval beast with the help of her father.
