It took us two long and slow days to reach the Royal Capital of Arrendelle. The capital was named Arrendite after the name of the Royal artefact—Sword of Arrendite.
I think even the kingdom itself was named after it.
Anyway, our journey to the capital was easy and without any danger. The only problem I had was I had to adapt myself to relieve my needs in the open and use leaves to clean my ass.
It also became boring since most of the time we were in the carriage, moving.
Man! I had to periodically stand to prevent my ass from going numb. The carriage's seats weren't comfy for someone like me. No matter how luxurious they were they can't compare to a car.
So the journey was not only boring but also slightly unbearable and I had to use leaves to clean my ass.
But it also had its ups like Andrew and Tristan informing us about the world outside the town and about the Royal Academy and what to expect.
The best part of the journey was when bandits stopped our carriage. I don't get what gave them the courage to stop such a luxurious vehicle but I'm all for it since I saw firsthand what a Tier-2 cultivator could do.
The fight was short but no surprise there since the bandits were normal villagers doing banditry to earn quick riches.
But no matter how short, it was thrilling. I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins like hot lava when Tristan wiped the ten bandits with a wave of his hand. He wrapped some kind of energy on his palm and slashed it like a sword, releasing a blue crescent energy wave and cleaving all the bandits in half.
It was a terrifying sight and to this point, I feel excitement whenever I remember it. If Tier-2 is so powerful I can't imagine how strong the higher Tiers will be.
"We are here." Andrew's words brought me back to reality. Looking outside I saw a huge gate connecting with an equally huge wall on both sides.
I can see a long line of people entering through the gate.
"That's the Gate of Arendelle made by the first king using the body parts of a Tier-5 beast he hunted. And reinforced by the Tier-5 array. Even a Tier-5 Empyrean can't bring it down." Tristan said. I can feel his pride spilling at the gate's site.
Calm down man you weren't the one who built it. I almost wanted to say it out loud but stopped myself. Tristan seems like a cool dude but I don't know how he would react to a joke on his motherland.
During the journey, I also got to know that both Tristan and Andrew were very patriotic. Always praising the King and the kingdom.
I don't know how much of that is true but at least the King didn't sound like an asshole by their words.
"Woah!!!" Well, Tristan wasn't the only one admiring the wall. It seems Erica also feels the majesty of the wall.
"Yeah, woah…! But what is an Empyrean?" I asked focusing on the new word. I can guess the rest he said but what did he mean by Tier-5 Empyrean? Do Tier-5 have different categories or maybe each Tier has 'em?
"Great question," Tristan said but otherwise didn't elaborate.
Seeing him not speaking, I questioned again.
"Big brother Tristan what does an Empyrean mean."
"Don't you want to know… but I ain't explaining, it's long. You'll learn it once you enter the Academy anyway." Tristan replied. If I'll know once I enter the Academy then tell me, man. Why you blue balling me for no reason. Not cool Tristan, not cool at all.
Just as I was going to give up Andrew came to my rescue.
"Don't be a dick, Tristan. Just tell him, you made the kid curious."
I knew Andrew was a real G.
"Fine…" Tristan said after staring at the nonchalant face of Andrew.
"Listen. Cultivation has nine Tiers. Both for talent and actual strength. From Tier-1 to 3. Cultivators are called mortals. From Tier-4 to 6. They are called Empyrean which means the cultivators have taken the first towards the Heavens and have left behind their mortality to some extent. Each Empyreans are further distinguished like Tier-4 being called Lord, Tier-5 being called an Overlord and Tier-6, a Monarch. Tier-7 to 9 are called Devine. Not much is known about the Devine tier as there has never been a human to reach it but they are said to be Immortal with unlimited lifespan." Tristan explained and went back to looking outside the carriage. The carriage itself moved towards the passage used by the nobles and easily passed it without even an inspection. It seems Royal Academy's student ID holds quite the power.
While the carriage entered the city and moved towards the Royal Academy, I thought about what Tristan told me.
It was the most I got about the power structure. If Tristan's word can be believed, Tier-9 is the peak of this world. But I can bet my 2 gold coins there are Tiers above that.
I mean this world's settings can't be called a cultivation troupe if it didn't had a Tier that has never been achieved by anyone and only the protagonist with some bullshit would reach that Tier.
Not to mention humans are pretty low on the ladder, they might not even know the peak of this world. There could also be a higher world up there where Tier above 9 goes so no one knows much about them.
But let's not think about all that. Thinking too much about Tier-9 and above is not good when I don't even have the path of Tier-1 in sight.
Though very soon I will have it.
